5 October 2024 14:22 TFTC BigSteveOK for placing this cache, number 14818 for me. Tried for this earlier in the day, but discovered people having a picnic with a bike leaned at GZ! Came back later, TFTC.
*** draft log for stats tracking, more later ***GCAMK6A No escape (MBH)Traditional Small5 Oct 2024T14:23:52 NZDTTFTC BigSteveOKI joined Infoferret in the Mustelid Mobile for a day of friendful caching in the Wairarapa. We tried for the cache on our way in, but there was a muggle couple enjoying their wine. We went away, came back, but they were still nicpicing so we interrupted them to chat about caching. Quick find. And thats Martinborough cleared (again).
First evening of a weekend in the Wairarapa and our 6th cache in Martinborough. Out for an evening stroll whilst staying at the nearby Claremont Motel (highly recommended). Its starting to get dark now but I brought a small torch with us. No one around and the cache was quickly located. TFTC.
Nice short wander in the dark for a quick find. Interesting boards along the way which I'm sure will be made into a multi cache at some point (hint). TFTC # 22,654
#15,398. Parked for a short walk in Martinborough. The GZ was fortunately all quiet at the time of our visit. Relatively quick find. The cache was in good condition, all nice and dry inside. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.Favorite point added for the interesting font or code for the "No escape ".*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*---### LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On **May 3rd, 2025**, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. I'm finally getting to use my day in lieu so I've popped over the hill to clean up the odds and sods caches dotted around the south Wairarapa and hoping it's not too muddy and the rain holds off.The last unfound cache in Martinborough is found! All good here, and thank you to BigSteveOK for the placement of your Traditional Cache.Find #7054 at 30 August 2024 12:48pm
Another quick find. Surprised it hasnt been muggled without a camo container. TFTC
What a super day we had. It could have been too wet to do anything, but with gumboots in between the showers, we managed to see a load of lambs, lots of rainbows, heaps of yellow wattle, and a clutch of caches. Thank you BigSteveOK
A nice quick find, very close to where we were staying. LAst for the day, time for some timeout!. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I are heading North again to visit family. Today we cruised around the Wairarapa, collecting some apples and swifty's. We had a great day, a little showery at times, but pretty good.Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
It was a terrific day in terms of weather to be in Martinborough and I enjoyed the easy walk to Ground Zero. My GPSr was in total agreement with the coordinates and this resulted in my quickest find of the day. The plastic bag is much bigger than it needs to be but everything is fine with the cache.
(9878) Having to head over the hill to the Wairarapa to do maintenance on a cache I decided I should grab a few caches while in the vicinity. Enjoyed a successful day with 44 finds. I just had to wait a moment or two while a couple of muggles who passed by went out of sight. The cache and log are in good order. Thanks BigSteveOK for taking the time to place the series and for bringing me here.
Early start this morning with tmann421, heading over to complete the Swifty Series. It was dark when we left home and dark when we returned home.Nice quick find here Log signed tm/ww NZTFTC
A very nice day trip to the Wairarapa with woolwood9 to see if my legs are starting to work a bit more!Left home before 6-15am so we could make the most of the daylight! We were lucky with the weather and got a good number of finds. Nice find here - thanks for helping make our day fun. SL *tm/ww NZ* Very nice park, good story boards and quick find.
Coordinates changed from:S 41 12.891 E 175 27.171Coordinates changed to:S 41 12.885 E 175 27.164Distance from original: 48.6 feet or 14.8 meters.Thanks TwigNZ for the correct Co-ords
**21,208**Thanks to one of the previous finders for the corrected co-ords, which made for a ice quick find whilst we took the dogs for a nice walk in the dog exercise area. TFTC
A lovely day and I'm over from Wellington to score some of the new apple-related caches. Stopped in Martinborough for coffee and brunch and a couple of unfound caches before heading on. I used TwigNZ's coordinates which were nice and accurate. Walking towards this cache, I was fortuitously at just the right angle to spot it as I approached. So an instant find. All in good condition - signed log, TFTC.
I must have checked 15 different trees within 15 m of the coords, without luck. So I locked the gate back up, and will come around another day.
Come over the hill tonight for a flying visit to a friend in the area. Had to leave early to avoid the hill road closures, but just had enough time to some by here to a look.As others have mentioned, the coordinates do seem to be a bit out, but the cache is at the most obvious hint object in the area.---Thanks to BigSteveOK for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Bulk] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
Nice to be out and about, so yes we have escaped, so great to wander across the park to collect a smiley. All good here.
It's another size regular dot-day, so I am planning a trip into Belmont when TwigNZ invites me on a caching trip to the Wairarapa to collect the newish caches there. We pick up the regular along the way. This is our first stop in Martinborough. Twig drives into the motor camp but can't get to the cache as a big pickup is hitching to a caravan and blocking the road completely. Like how are they even going to get out??We walk to GZ, leaping the fence, and start hunting. Found the cache well over 10m away from GZ. Is this part of the reason for the cache title? I don't know. I don't understand why for the cache title either. But it is on a track I did not know existed, and it is a pretty nice track too. Thanks for bringing me here.
***Found at S41 12.885 E175 27.164*** The last few months have been quite hectic for me in geocaching terms, mostly because of my desire to try to qualify for GC30AD8 DGSc Challenge in super-quick time. But March is traditionally a quieter month for me, and I have decided to take the foot off the pedal a little for fear of burning out or getting to the point where I'm not actually enjoying the caching.Having said that, I still have my old personal goal of finding 50 caches for the month, and don't want to get to the point of having to rush around like a mad thing at the end of the month. So I decided that today I would take a leisurely saunter over the Rimutaka Hill to go caching in Martinborough, which has seen a few new caches released since I was last over this way. Having just arrived back yesterday from a big trip to Australia, my flatmate the Seagnoid joined me as two pairs of eyes are always better than one right? This was my first cache for the day, and was a cache that was only published yesterday. TS and I took a little while to find it as the co-ordinates are a bit out so it wasn't until we widened out search radius that I was able to spot it. So whilst tS wrote our names into the log, I took a GPS waypoint, which was about 15m from the posted co-ordinates. Otherwise all good here. Thanks for the new cache.
Yes, well, I was horizontal when the notification of this case being published came out. So it was a quick shower and get dressed, and then I headed south to Martinborough to happily my log was to be a {FTF}. (found at 8:47AM on 9 March 2024). What a lovely place to visit and to read the book on the boards. I have been in South Australia recently, I am the pathway reminded me of the dirt roads out in the countryside/outback.Kia ora rawa atu for the cache BigSteveOK.
