I completed the Ad Lab for this one back in October on our way down to see one of our favourite bands, Floodlights, play at the Torquay Hotel. Today I enjoyed finding this bonus cache on my way back from a fabulous weekend at the Queenscliff Music Festival. My niece, Pinkimbo, was with me and we enjoyed making our colourful mark in the large logbook. Thanks for a really fun AdLab and bonus.
I am not an artist. Having completed the tour of the more colourful ends of town in rediculously hot weather, catnap777 and I found ourselves sweating it out at GZ while I made a pathetic attempt at reproducing cat's profile pic for prosperity. [8)] It did not turn out well [B)], but at least our names are now brightly inscribed across a very greedy full page of the generously sized log book. TFTAdlab and Bonus BFMC. [^] Clearly you know your Glummos, and now, so do we.
23 November 2024 13:19 My darling husband drew a likeness of me with my legs up in the air in the log book, but don't worry, it was rated "C", C for catnap . The tour around looking at all the art was a delight. There are some talented people out there.Thank you BFMC for an interesting tour of Geelong and an extra added bonus of a large size bonus. In other words BON from US to .
An early morning drive and a catch up with a good friend to do some caching around the area. The weather was perfect and we even had a little water fun to grab a couple of caches. This is one of the caches found today. An Interesting lab , I enjoyed some of the art work. Thanks BFMC for the cache.
Following the nearby Cito it was time for some caching shenanigans...this was one of the caches on the hitlist that we stopped to find on this glorious spring day while many a muggle were obsessing over the football.
Had the coords for the final several weeks ago but for some reason failed to get the cache. Today there were very few people about and I drew a Platypus. (Well, what else?) Not my best effort for thank you for such a big cache!
**Found with GoodLook** Found whilst in Geelong to attend a nearby CITO.Made the trek with a small group of like minded cachers after the nearby CITO. As is obvious - I'm not an artist (OK - A BS Artist) but I left my name in the logbook and dropped off a few TB's.The thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more that a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less traveled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be. I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own. The weather was glorious, the vistas stunning, the coffee shops pleasant and the company wonderful. Thank you BFMC for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Appreciate your efforts. - P*Took*: Nothing*Left*: TB's & Fave Point**Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Cache on! **#18871**
This labcache was finished long ago but by the time we had completed the last stage it was dark and we didn't want to back track.Today after attending a nearby CITO we came to try our hand at our very limited artistry skills (absolutely none lol) and sign the logbook with a group of fellow cachers. The wind was blustery as we made our way to the cache having plenty of laughs, once Snap Happy and the male Triton get together you just don't know what is coming forth from their mouths......Thanks BFMC for a fun cache, a fav added.
Found with a small group after a nearby CITO. Love the logbook although Im not very artistic Im afraid! Ha ha. Thanks for a neat cache.
This was a fun adventure for Intermational Geocaching Day. Dad and little bunny enjoyed exploring the laneways and seeing how many glummos were hidden. After finding a park near GZ She could show her autistic flare with a unique way to sign the log. Did a tb swap too. TFTC and a fav for the effort!
16:42 Glummo's - Glummo's Everywhere! Muggles wonder why we stare ! Collecting info was such fun ! A bonus for us when the work was done !Sighted trackable - TB9CJQC 'kamloops bc'A HUGE Thank you to the CO who created and placed this cache. FP awarded.37031
We enjoyed the uniqueness of the AdLab and we felt good as in this case we felt that we did enough to earn our bonus cache. It was pleasing to see such a great sized cache at GZ and some artistic fun that we had there, in keeping with the theme.TFTC and teaching us about Glumps.
Found by Mary and David at 11:15. Didn't have time for the Bonus when we did the AdLab with GeoJo last Sunday for Mothers Day. Back today to finish the job. Wonderful to find a large container. Earns a FP. Dropped off "kamloops bc" TB. Our thanks to BFMC.
Just love it. That is what I love about geocaching.Enjoy signing the log after drawing. Thanks BFMCFav pt added.
We love that the City of Geelong has so much public art. Some of the artworks featured in the Adventure lab are way up there on our favourite list.Mr Dromaniax admires artworks as he barely has an artistic atom in his body. Mrs Dromaniax is, on the other hand, quite artistic. You will see from the attached photo of the artwork in the log book that Mr Dromaniax signed the log book and did a poor job of the logo Mrs Dromaniax designed.Looking forward to the next instalment of this monthly series of Geocaches.Thank you for a great Adventure lab and an awesome Bonus cache, BFMC.Absolutely a favourite point from us.
Found by The Empire + HAn anniversary lunch, a drive through Geelong, an interesting Adventure Lab! Each mural, a window into a world of melancholy and mystery, brought to life by unique colour combinations that danced across the walls. As we drove around Geelong, I found myself on a quest to seek out these intriguing artworks scattered throughout the city. Glummo's characters, with their downcast eyes and drooping shoulders, seemed to beckon to me from every corner, drawing me deeper into their world. Each mural told a storya tale of sorrow and solitude, tinged with hints of hope and resilience. I couldn't help but wonder about the secrets hidden within those painted faces. Why were they so sad? What trials had they endured? Despite their somber appearance, there was a beauty in Glummo's creationsa raw honesty that captivated the heart. With each brushstroke, he brought to life emotions that echoed within us all.As the day turned to dusk, I marvelled at the sight of another Glummo masterpiece, bathed in the warm glow of the setting sun. His characters may be sad, but in their sadness, they found a kind of beautya reminder that even in our darkest moments, there is light to be found. And so, with a newfound appreciation for the artistry of Glummo, I bid farewell to the streets of Geelong, carrying with me the stories of his sad little characters etched into my memory forever. Thanks for the cache, and the adventure BFMC.-M
We really enjoyed doing the artistic tour, especially when certitude gave us the co-ords we needed but looking on the map we thought that this one might be better off left to daylight. Next trip to Geelong
Suscoe was out and about on a delightful April morning exploring this new Adventure Lab and Bonus. We found our way bit by bit through the stages, we wondered how often have we passed by these locations and never really stopped to take in the Art Works. But today we did and we were happy to be observant. Thanks very much for this interesting Ad Alb and Bonus BFMC. A favourite from us.
Joint [FTF] with AusFox; I was heading home from a swim and spa and the new Northern Aquatic Centre when I got a message from AusFox; asking if I was going. Having no idea what he was on about I gave him a call to find out there was a new Adventure Lab published with aa bonus that is yet to be published. A plan was formed and we thought we would get a jump on the Bonus a start the Adlab in the hopes that it would be published by the time we finished. So the Glummo hunt was on and after playing in the busy City during peak hour we had all our Gummos found. We even had two glummos in the car at the end waiting because there was still no bonus published. After studying the map and discussing where we thought it could be (We really had no clue) we went on our own way.Five minutes later the phones go ping and we were back on the phone working out where we needed to head. The location suited me better than AusFox; as it was on my way home anyway. We made it to GZ which is a great spot an was not even close to any of the places we thought it might be but the perfect place for a large. An artist I am not but we did our best in the spirit of this cache when signing the logbook.Thank you BFMC for a great Adlab and Bonus. A favourite for sure
I received a message about a new Adventure Lab that had just been released. So I sent a message to SimsFamily to see if they were heading out. To my surprise they were not aware. After quick conversation a plan was made to visit the required locations. So we had all the information we needed but no bonus cache to tell us what to do. We sat around by hoping it would drop soon. But after a few ideas we were still non the wiser so we went our seperate ways to continue with our day. But wouldnt you know it , 5 minutes later Bingo. Change of plans in peak hour traffic required multi tasking and coords to meet at.A quick search had the great hide in view and the master pieces and the original idea to log the find.Log graffitied with cache names [FTF] and replaced as found. Thanks for the Bonus cache BFMC #8,019Favourite point added
After feedback from the FTF hunters, a small tweak has been made to the Ad Lab. Once completed, the journal should now show entries in the same order as required here.No other changes.
