A quick walk around the playing fields on a blustery and showery day.TFTC
Thanks for my first find! Was amazing to try out!!!!! )!! Very excited to finally start my new hobby!!
Luckily for me, I didn't have to cache in the pouring rain during the recent Mega, so finding some nice easy caches today while our just cleaned carpets dry out.
Had a few hours spare today so caching was on my do to list. Thanks for the cache
In Dunedin for the mega, an early morning walk with 2wombles before the next event. Thanks BDC417 for the cache
Another cache near the event centre we came to today after the event had finished! The other days we were caching further away so we still had lots in this area to find. Thanks for the placement, nice quick find.
Another of our last final finds before we had to dash to catch our plane back to Auckland!
Today's task was to find some, if not all, of the Octagon series of letterbox caches plus any other caches near to my planned route that took my fancy. As one of my other targeted puzzle caches was adjacent to St Kilda Beach I parked up near the surf club and walked across the field to this cache. The elephant track in the foliagefrom the other MEGA participants indicated to me where the cache was. TFTC BDC417
Down for the MEGA with Supernannny and Net61 collecting some caches on the way. A dog owner was throwing a ball for his dog nearby. A dog owner hadnt picked up their dogs mess and unfortunately someone in our group stood in it. A nice quick find here of this cache, before heading to the airport. TFTC
Straight to it, log sheet is damp and ripped but space to sign on the back. TFTC
Up to Dunedin today for the Mega Event, grabbing some walking-distance local caches while we are here. Thanks for placing the cache
Found with RaisinRover while out having a break from helping at the nearby Mega. It was nice to bring up my step count for the day (and the geocache count too)! TFTC
Evening walk time, a short distance from the back of the accommodations for the weekend. Cheers
MEGA WEEKEND CACHINGJoint find with DownsouthInv, Annielin, Wombats_4, MrandMrsFraggle, MrsHazzar, Abbykitt and KNCN (together the group is known as SRT, Southern Raiders and all logs were signed with that name to save space and save time) busy busy day for the group from the south, but enough time to clean up some more solves/caches T4TC PS sorry for the gereric logs so many caches to do so little time
After collecting our goodies from Mega, and popping home for a quick cup of tea we ventured out for a brisk walk. On our way back we headed across the field and made a quick find of this cache, whilst avoiding the biggest pile of doggie droppings we've seen so far.

Arrived at my Mega accommodation last night. This morning, before heading out to tick off the Airplane geo-art, and before the kitchen opened, I popped over here for 2. Easy find here.
After checking into to my accommodation a short walk across the park felt like a good thing to do.A quick find. TFTC
Arrived at my accommodation and found this cache was nearby so I went to make the search. Cache found in good condition.
Another day in New Zealand another day of exploring, driving an geocaching. After we arrived yesterday in Dunedin and had a short walk through the city (including the first log of a 11/2000 cache, we wanted to discover the Dunedin peninsula today.Unfortunately weather was not close as good as yesterday and we started a little later, but still managed to leave the camping ground before 11.After a few km onto the island there have been 2 caches on the bucket list, a tradi and a letterbox. letterboxes are not so common in Germany, so I wanted to take this one in the stats. Unfortunately at arrival on the cords i noticed that this is not a typical one but a kind of multi and we did not want to spend the time in the beginning of the day for a more time consuming search, especially after the last log was. DNF, so we skipped it for good.Next stop was at the Albatross Center, where we not only had a look in their small info Center and a good cup of coffee but also managed to do the letter box GC and also the virtual. And of course we had a look at the beach where the blue penguins are breeding and studied the albatrosses flying around, really majestic how they glide through the wind. After that we approached the Lab cache round at the fort, interesting that this place can be visited so easily, difficult to find any similar spots in Germany. It was quite muddy over there so that after stage 2 I was heading on alone (I had the right boots for that). However just before stage 4 there was a small lake of rain water at the outlet of the 100 meter tunnel, this was even too deep for my shoes and I had to quit the Lab cache. Luckily the tradi in the tunnel could be found easily and even they recommend you to have bring a torch, a proper mobile torch will also do its job. Then we cruised around the island, quite narrow and hilly for a campervan, but we managed to conquer the (gravel) streets. After being back at the camping ground we Took a long walk along the beach and manages another 3 caches on the way. One of them with a new D/T rating for me.So a Great day again and also again 4 cache types and some new achievements on the statsTFTC to all CO!
A rarish traditional dot day lead me to look for this cache today. Quite windy crossing the open ground but a short search yielded the loot in the second place I looked. Thanks for the cache, BDC417#6124 ** Make your way to Dunedin for New Zealands next Mega Event. GCA7ZHD Geo Toroa will be held on NZs Labour Day long weekend 26-27th October 2024 **
Sneaky. Not quite in the area marked by the GPS pin, but looking around, there are some pretty likely hiding spots that you can explore. There's damage to the lid from someone shoving it back too firmly.
This cache is less than 2 km from home and finding it now means that I 've found five caches per calendar day. That includes lab caches. A good excuse to go for a stroll on a sunny, quite calm winter afternoon. Thanks.
A trip to Dunedin for a service job and as i was staying close be i gave this one a crack .Hmmm what am i looking for Nop hmm i wonder oooo yess .Nice hide soon had the log in hand and by touch light competed the paper work and returned to it hide .now to get back across feld with out being eatn by a pack of dogs .Thanks for fun .Now back to accommodation as i have an early start. Getting out and about in to the out doors is my happy place so any excuse to go caching. As if I need an excuse aahhh nop I will go rain hail or snow so let's goooo and have as much fun and adventures as possible tomorrow may never come and we never know what tomorrow may hold for us all just do it Life is short. Live life one foot step at a time.Never say" I'm gonna "- Just do it!! Tomorrow may never come just grab Life by the horns , lets just go for it .Thanks for the hide tftc
With a cold wind blowing and a few dog walking muggles or should that be dogs having a fantastic time with ball throwing muggles, we made a bee line for this one and had it in hand quickly.
After a few days of strong winds it was nice to get out and about. The dogs and their owners at this place were enjoying it too. Found with Debsnz.
A quick easy find of another Hardy Boys cache - a long way from the rest, but an apt location. TFTC
Found this before a walk along the road, nice to finally see some sun with a bit of warmth in it. My mum found this one first! Thanks
FTF. Almost caught out with this one. I saw all the new caches published this morning and that, with one exception, they were Hardy Boys series and a new Matariki series by BDC417. I made a quick assumption that they would be down around the back of Milton as per the previous BDC417 caches. I knew I wasn't going to have time to head down there today so didn't immediately look at each one. But I thought I would have a quick overall look at the map to see what roads they were on down there. Counting them on the map I got 12. Plus one on the Pineapple Track = 13. But there were 14 cache publication emails in my inbox. Just my bad maths? Or was a closer look warranted? The latter was the case. What was this? A Hardy Boys cache just a few kilometres from home? Then the penny dropped - what rugby club is located at this ground? Popped down and the cache was quickly in hand. Lesson for me there - assumption is the mother of all foul-ups. TFTC.
