Staying in Koroit, it was a dull, cool day, so we decided to visit Hopkins Falls and then Warrnambool. Unfortunately, there were no whales to be seen, but I did find this cache.
Chewbacca72 and I are traveling during 4 months through Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. A few caches that are on our way should not be missing. This cache is one of them. Many thanks to RickRolledRacoon for this very cool hide.+ 1 FavoBest regards, searchersab
It was a smart idea where it was hidden. Tricky but not too tricky. Hint was helpful and the difference to surroundings was just enough to attract the eye. Harvey thought it was great!
I haven't found one for the whole year ... betcha, there's one here, 15 metres off, husband please back to the car for a pen, found it. Brilliant spot. Thanks for a wonderful hide
Found by The Empire + HAfter a successful half marathon, with the weight of the race lifted from our shoulders, we decide to take a relaxed drive around Warrnambool. The sense of accomplishment still buzzing, we cruise through the town, taking in the sights at a slower pace now that the race is behind us.After taking in the views at the Hopkins River lookouts, we decide to head to one of Warrnambools famous whale lookouts, hoping to catch a glimpse of the majestic creatures. The lookout offers a panoramic view of the ocean, and we scan the horizon eagerly, imagining the sight of a Southern Right Whale breaching in the distance. However, we quickly realize that the whales are much farther out to sea at this time of year. Its outside their peak season close to shore, and the waters seem quiet, with only the distant waves rolling in. Despite the lack of whale activity, the view is still breathtakingthe vast, open ocean stretching endlessly before us, with the late afternoon sun casting a shimmering light over the water. Thanks for the cache RickRolledRacoon.-M
With dot558Had us searching for a while but eventually foundVery creative Thanks for our second smile of the day as we head towards Portland but stopped to see whales (yes I know end of season) but the the waWhales are more elusive than the caches
We are on the way from Warrnambol to the East. After breakfast Murkel and me stopped here and tried to see a whale. We don't see a whale but we enjoying the view.We found the really nice box easily and signed the log sheet. Thanks for the cache
First thing after leaving the campground was heading towards the whale watching platform. After enduring my wifes foto sessions on the beach we went up again and found the cache.IN: Favorite Point for the nice box, the view, and the ever lasting memories. No whales to be seen this morning. Thanks a lot for the cache,Murkel,on tour with Muckel112. September 2024 10:35
#200 08/09/2024 @11:17amMilestone 200 for me! A few muggles about, fingers crossed stealth tactics were a success! No wales seen
In Warrnambool for a work meeting. My team came up to the whale platform for a look and whilst here I found the cache! TFTC!!
Found with bekkaj and amy741987No whales observed today, but a few muggles around. Snaveled the cache while they were all looking out to sea.Happy International Geocaching Day
Enfin arrivs en Australie, on se repose Warrnambool avant de commencer par la Great Ocean Road
Had been here for the last couple of days for a bit of whale spotting, no luck yet. Checked for a cache today and low and behold there is one here. A bit of sneakiness by Mr Iml72 and cache was found and signed and replaced while all these muggles are about. TFTC
Blustery day checking out to see if there were any whales around. Thought I'd sneakily check the app for caches. I was basically standing right on it! Nice hiding place and with muggles around I had to be quick with geoson.
Found this well hidden cache after a few minutes of searching about and after reading and rereading the hint l decided to read some logs and found l should be checking the gz on my other left! Bingo! Job done, log signed but no whales this morning. TFTC
To many muggles to be able to have a good look will come back and look when whale season is over
Dare to draw No whales until now, but we will continue our walk along the coast. Maybe more luck elsewhere
A great cache in a fantastic location. No whales today, but so relaxing just waiting for them. TFTC
Travelling with richlink on our Annual Caravan Geocaching road trip, using geocaching as our guide. An amazing, well crafted cache, a fave point from us. Thanks for the cache. LNCU.
Travelling with iluvtrekking from our home state of WA on a SA caching foray. Spending a few days in Warrnambool to grab some local finds. Well done on the camo. Thanks for the hideLNCU
Brilliant cache! Took a little while but as well as finding the cache we also saw a whale! Quite a few muggles around but all of them were too focused on the whale to become too suspicious of us. Tftc!!!
Bit of a feel around but eventually found it. Here just on sunset, no whales to be seen here today but apparently they are in the area. TFTC
No whales today but a good swell! Thanks for the extra work that went into this cache.
Nice cache was quickly found on a cool afternoon, only a couple of muggles down the other end of the platform, TFTC, a favourite for the hid and location.
Thanks for the cache and the challenge. Well done with the container. Intact and secure. No whales today.Cheers.
Left Geelong early this morning to make sure I had plenty of time to get where I needed to be.Checked the emails and my meeting had been pushed back a little which meant I had time to kill. Might as well grab a cache whilst in the area I have visited this spot in the past with the little ones so I'm very happy to be back to take in the beautiful views. Cache is in good order and is definitely a point of interest. Thanks for the hide
Outnabout for some solo caching while in town for a couple of days. I was about to get to do some maintenance on my own caches, but quickly discovered a new one since my last visit, so a detour was in order. A favourite point left for the creative hide. Its always a great day for caching. TFTC RickRolledRacoon
We were still in Portland visiting dad and had headed off to Port Fairy to try and finish an Adventure Lab and also grab a few caches. Diane checked and this one had been found so off we went to see what we missed.Happy the weather was a bit cool so there were very few muggles around which was good as it still took some searching before we came up with the well hidden cache and added our name to the log..I think the first search we underestimated the CO as they had relatively few finds and were not expecting a cache like this.We will now be keeping an eye open for future caches from this team as we really enjoyed this one and hope there is more to come..Many thanks RickRolledRacoon for a great first cache, a favourite point from us.
After an experienced team like Team Crackers failed to find this we debated whether to attempt it.But we did anyway as we wanted to see if there were any early whales [there weren't].Lots of muggles but very few came down this end of the viewing platform. It did take a while to find but that was because it was a very well crafted hide. Congratulations on a great effort for your first cache placement and a favourite point from us. It fits the two requirements that are essential to a good cache hide:1. it should take you to an interesting place2. It should be of an interesting designToo many caches these days are plastic containers placed under or in trees and so many are poorly maintained, so it's refreshing to find a cache that you enjoy doing.I would add to your hint that it is on the left when you turn and face the sea.
We spotted this one this morning and came fora drive from Portland, unfortunately it alluded us/We will keep an eye on it
