Up in Orewa for a few days with ABCDF4Some great caches up here Thanks to the CO for a enjoyable time in Orewa
We came back today, determined to find this, and we're rewarded with a . Thanks G2, another good cammo.
There is a rebuild taking place here. The sea defenses have been rebuilt this week by the looks of it.Cache is probably gone forever.
Took a few looks as was looking for another type of container. No lid or anything but hopefully will keep dry. Thanks for maintaining and hiding this cache. Would go for a swim but forgot my togs and it is winter!
found with flossieteacake. there was lots of muggles around so we had to wait awhile before we could look for it. managed to find it eventually and then sat on a nearby bench to sign it. TFTC
The advantage of caching in winter is that you can often find a nice parking space nearby, and luck was on our side today, well as far as parking was concerned. The other problem caching on a nice sunny winter's day is that all of the old muggles are out with their mugglehounds getting a bit of sunshine and topping up their Vit D levels. And so we had to hang around for absolutely ages, looking very suspicious until the coast and the beach were both clear. GeohoundandI picked up the cache, looked underneath it and put it back down. I picked up the cache and found the log. Then I went back to the car to get the tweezers (good job I had parked close by) whilst she sat on the bench guarding the cache from prying eyes and seagulls. Eventually we managed to sign the log AND put the cache back without anybody shouting at us for littering/loitering/destroying the sea defences/bringing down house values.
Great hint along with great camo made for a nice quick find situated on a lovely beach. [TFTC]
Afternoon outing in Orewa collecting a couple of caches along the way. Took us a little while to locate. Needed the hint to put us in the correct spot. Should have been plain sailing from here but unfortunately Kiwi got his muckle hands on your creation and quickly found the lid was no longer connected to the med tube when said lid went flying, bouncing on the steps at our feet then quickly disappearing down the join between the foot treads on the stairs into the rocks below never to be seen again. Your med tube is now hanging down at the beach, topless with winter on its way. May need some TLC. TFTC
If I wasnt with a previous finder at the time, I think I may have completely overlooked this one. Nice work!!
Well I'm back in this area today. I walked past this one yesterday but with the nearby seat occupied I thought it best to come back to this one. It was my first stop today - thought the area would be vacant enough at 7am. A few walkers on the beach but they were far enough away not to see me make a quick grab of this fantastic G_2 special. Thanks for revitalizing this area I love your volume of hides and the creativity you put into your caches. It's very much appreciated by me.
**20,769**Having being twarted at Edwins cache by JWs that had set up shop right at GZ, we decided to head the opposite way. Soon came across yet another very cleverly camod cache holder. Almost over looked it, that is some skill and makes this game so much more fun when such clever caches can be hidden in plain sight. TFTC
Wow thats cool. Picked up the rock and didnt recognise it as a cache. Keep looking at it and then saw the cache. TFTC
Wow......Another G-2 Masterpiece!Favourite Point, of course!Lucky with the weather....some grey skies about... but so nice it wasn't raining, and we could get out caching....after the downpours on Saturday!Very nicely done !Glad there are now caches along the beachfront once more.
It was an almost empty beach today as it was a cloudy and overcast day. We walked along the beach to find this one. There were seagulls squawking at us as we sat down on the steps to admire the view and find the cache. We soon spotted something of interest and on closer inspection found it was the very well camouflaged cache. Thanks G2 for an awesome hide. FP given
Another Sunday morning caching expedition with Team Welsh, this time around Silverdale, Orewa and Whangaparaoa. We wandered along the beach walk to GZ where we spotted the hide, just as someone came up the stairs and sat on the nearby seat. Managed a stealthy find of the cache by having one sitting on the steps and the other standing between GZ and the seat. Thanks.
Didnt spot it at first but on a second look I noticed the sneaky hide. Had trouble extracting the log without the necessary tool but found some twigs which did the trick. TFTC
I walked along to here with Mr KC and it was a lovely day for a stroll. Lots of people about but we soon spotted the likely item for the cache. Had to be stealthy as someone came along and sat on the nearby seat. I thought HEARO may of been FTF on this one as they live pretty close to here. TFTC
I was getting a coffee in my local cafe when this was published and seeing where it was I was willing the barista to go faster as there was a bit of a queue! Once I had my coffee in hand I jumped in the car and was soon parked up at the end of the road and had just got out of the car when a heavy squally shower passed over! Thankfully I had my rain jacket on so headed to the stairs and sat down. I soon had the cache in hand and found a blank log so I signed in for {FTF} while getting soaked! Typical, the shower was easing by the time I got back to the car!
