After eating lunch in the shade on the shore of Botany Bay I came down to the track heading towards GZ. It was a nice walk with plenty of birds calling. I was expecting the cache to be in a different location and stood looking at the Golf Ball pondering how to get to the cache. I took an off track and soon found what I was looking for!Years ago there used to be one of these giant golf balls near Queenscliff on the northern beaches. It was always exciting as a kid to see it when going to the beach because we knew we were almost there!TFTC # 6282
On approach, I knew I was in the right area, as verified by the cache name and impressive feature above me. I found the path less travelled and followed it to GZ, where I found a cache which is very much 'in theme'. TFTC wazza9
Found with oldmorty.Nice walk along Polo Trail to GZ.Quick find after a short bush bash. Thanks to wazza9 for hiding this cache.
That's certainly a large golf ball. Even I would find it hard to have an air swing here. Once frazeydaze jumped into the bush it was a quick find. Cache all good. SLRC as found. TFTC.
Thanks, great cache. Bit difficult to approach as a taller person but quite fun
A nice walk-in from the end of Polo Street. There was no easy way in as the bush was so thick. Ended up spotting a goat track, which was definitely a bit easier. I'm so glad I didn't have to go through that whole container to log the cache. TFTC
I had a bit of dejavu here. Nice to see the GZ is still used but with a slightly different cache. My that cache is heavy, come prepared with some muscles. Nicely hidden and out of sight of any passing muggles.
Big one, thanks. Log signed with a stick because managed to forget pen from my backpack.
A bit of a Kurnell run this afternoon for a few caches. Didn't take too long to make the pleasant walk to be able to tee off. Not too far off the beaten track and soon the goods were uncovered. TFTC!
Goodness, Gracious, Great Balls of Radar! Experiencing Deja Vu right now or is that just Radar Love?! TFTC wazza9[Disclaimer: No golfer or caddy was hurt in the placing or maintaining of this geocache.]
Well that took sometime to locate the log, after finding the big golf ball, signed the log and replaced. Thanks to CO.
I followed a familiar fairway along the track, which even had a dog leg bend (though no dogs were present). I had to battle the rough for a bit, but avoided the bunker to finally end up on the green where the pin was in sight. With one last stroke, I had the ball in the hole (otherwise known as CIH). My prize awaited me and at first I thought I could be spending more time sorting out where the log might be. Fortunately, it was easier than expected, and a blank log was there for me to sign. [FTF] @ 1500, this time without GeodogZelda. That truly is one huge golf ball stuck up there. Good luck trying to get that onto the green. TFTC
