Logs

25-Nov-24
This was easy to find, though the container, lid and log were scattered across the ground, so we put it back together. TFTC!

12-Nov-24
Even after looking through all the past notes, my search partner and I could not find it

05-Nov-24
Log book replaced as it was a bit damp. GZ coordinates seemed to still be fine.

04-Nov-24
We are aiming to get down to this one to check the log book some time tomorrow.

It was in a logical spot and was fun to look for

17-Oct-24
Came to Melbourne for lunch with a friend and did a few caches as well. This was one of them. There are some lovely old trees here which played merry with the GPS, but the cache was in a logical spot. Many thanks.

08-Sep-24
There were plenty of people at the park today, but they were all too busy doing their own thing, so nobody paid me any attention. Cache was quickly located and the log signed. TFTC.

03-Aug-24
A quick afternoon trip not far from home for my second Cachemas 2024 cache and whatever else was nearby. This one I found instantly today without the CO doing maintenance right where I needed to be last time. Thanks Coco_Lily for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

03-Aug-24
Checked and updated coordinates very similar location but slightly different. We can confirm the cache is not covered with leaves and visible.

27-Jul-24
Decided to go night caching, and this was the first one on my list. This was quite possibly one of the worst options to find during the night. The GPS was way off, and ended up just relying on geosenses. Eventually found the prize hiding under leaves. TFTC, im going to bed

23-Jul-24
The rules of this geocaching is that it's not allowed to be buried. We couldn't find it due to all the autumn leaves around. The gardener's are leaf blowing the leaves all into the garden and bushes. This geocacher has been reported to the admin of this app, for breaking the rules and burying it.

23-Jul-24
The geocacher has the geocaches buried under the autumn leaves. Which is why we and others have not found it. Due the gardener's of this park using a leaf blower to blow the leaves into the bushes of where the container is hidden.

20-Jul-24
Found it. Gps is off a little. Tyftc

20-Jul-24
After some looking in the wrong spot we finally laid eyes on it. TFTC NO PEN BUT PHOTO TAKEN IF NEEDED.

TFTC! 2 July 2024 3:45:28PM 8213 thanks to Coco_Lily for the cache! The coordinates are out by a bit, and decided to check out behind the bushes instead. Made the find.

28-Jun-24
After finding the nearby multi cache I decided to walk up to this trad. I was aiming for a bit of distance to give me the exercise I needed but I received the bonus of walking up and down the hill between the creek and Toorak Rd. After navigating the roadworks on the bordering street I finally entered the park and promptly found that the GPS coordinates were decently out from the actual GZ.Taking a guess I navigated to the back of the ground cover shrubs and decided to look at the base of the largest static object I could find. Yep, there it was uncovered by any leaves. I'd suggest being a little more particular on the hint if the GPS coordinates are out as cachers can be, erm, determined when searching and it would be a shame to see the ground cover take a beating.

TwoEms saw a splash of fluorescent yellow running all over the parkmini muggles in hi-vis! There were big fluorescent muggles too, and they were herding the little ones into the cutest of kindy lineslike a brood of neon ducklings filing out of the park.We sat on the bench with the sun warming our backs and the cold wind getting under our skin. Winter is falling andfortunately for ushad swept most of the autumn leaves away. Thank you for the cache.

26-Jun-24
Out caching with TanSaf today .. parked close by and made out way to GZ but the GPS on both phones was not cooperating so we made our way to a likely location. Thanks Coco_Lily for placing the cache.

There have been some DNFs lately so just a friendly reminder: When going to this cache it can sometimes be covered up completely with leaves . If you are struggling to find it please keep this in mind.-Coco_Lily

Quick find. Good for kids.

04-Jun-24
We met up with quiet1_au for our regular weekly after (his) work jaunt. This cache was located in a park where q1 used to have a cache quite a few years ago. GMelb remembered the location (it turned out JMelb wasnt with GMelb when he found it) We started looking but were getting nowhere. q1 checked the hint which confirmed the type of hide and kept looking GMelb found once he expanded the search area. GPS was showing 12m at GZ, there's lots of trees and it was a cloudy arvo so I thnik it was struggling to get a good fix. Had a look at the commemerative boulder on the way out. TFTC Coco_Lily - GJMMelb

04-Jun-24
Ah ha! A very familiar park where I had a cache for a while but muggles/gardeners and/or autumnal leaves eventually made me archive it (I hope you have better luck!) I met up with G&J GJMMelb remarkably quickly after leaving work (little traffic for once!) and we headed off to GZ. GPSes and phone struggled a bit under the canopy (there are some impressive specimum trees in this park) and perhaps the cloudy skies (throw in some solar activity to complete the excuse list Razz ) Anyway we checked the likely spots, and I checked the hint which only really confirmed what we already suspected so we continued to search the area and curse the fallen leaves... Expanding out search area, G' headed off to (re?)check an spot and finally the cache was located. I think it was ~10m off what the GPSes indicated so perhaps trust your geosenses more than GPSes? TFTC, it's been a long time I've revisited this park and glad to do so with geo-friends Smile

30-May-24

Nice find after a bit of a search (the leaves certainly didn't help!). All in good condition. TFTC

16-May-24
TFTC. Leaves make it tricky.

13-May-24
Its there all right, although I had to be persuaded by the CO that it was Second visit proved fruitful, although Autumn has added an extra layer of difficulty. Perseverance paid off, but the absence of muggles greatly assisted.Footnote: I arranged and attended a short memorial meeting at the nearby plaque on the 80th anniversary last year of Les Knights tragic but heroic death. About eight of us gathered around, discussed the horrors of wars, and drank a toast to Les. His and my parents were churchgoers at the Camberwell church that sponsored our familys 1960 migration to Australia from England. The Knights were a fine family. TFTC

12-May-24
Today I spent a few hours on my own, finding a few things that were not too far from home including a nice walk through the bush in the dew soaked grass to warm me up for the day.I arrived here and there were quite a few people in the park but not too close to GZ. I searched the tree that my GPS was closest to and found nothing, then a mother and kid decided to come over and climb the tree right on the fence line so I went to the end of the park and sat for a few minutes until they left and read the CO's log about being covered with leaves so that changed my search to the garden but after moving a LOT of leaves it was too hard for me so I headed off because the neighbour in the house on the fence line also came outside. I'll watch and see everyone else "find it easily" and come back another time. Thanks Coco_Lily for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

12-May-24
Checking cache later today to see if its still in place/not muggled

12-May-24
Just checked still in place and log all good but someone had covered it up completely with leaves!

09-May-24
Searched for 20 minutes. The only rock near GZ has nothing under it. Maybe next time.

05-May-24
I saw a new cache had popped up, close to a tram line, just perfect for a Sunday afternoon trek with Muggle Husband in tow. You can tell it is autumn, there are so many leaves blowing around. The cache was found quickly after a short search.

05-May-24
Out for a drive, we passed the newly published cache. Quick find, thanks Coco_Lily
