Last find of the day as my phone battery is dying. Very neat hiding spot and haven't had to climb like since I was a kid. Much fun. Tftc.
With the forecast for Friday being good and Saturday being rubbish, I decided to head out to Matakana today to make the most of the sunshine and to do some more caching in the area. I spent a good part of the afternoon wandering around Omaha and finding a few caches here, the weather was stunning at this point in the afternoon, it felt like summer! Decided on the most likely tree, took a look from the boardwalk, couldn't spot anything, went up the tree, couldn't spot anything, took another look from below the tree, spotted the sneakily hidden cache, went back up to retrieve it, back down to the board walk to sign the log, then up again to replace the cache as found! TFTC!
Stared from the path with the Uncle for a bit with no luck, only found it after I decided to venture into the branches. TFTC
In town for my niece's wedding on Monday. Took some time out with my nephew from Canada, caching under SomeShyRobot.Cache was a bit tricky, not visible from the path, so sent the young one in to find it.
We are out in Omaha caching with Team Welsh on this cold and windy afternoon, making this location something of a Wind Tunnel. Arriving at GZ we soon decided which would be the most likely tree. After that it was not long before we had the cache in hand. Thanks.
I got to gz alright but couldn't initially spot the cache. Reread the description and noticed it required a climb. Looked up one tree but decided it wasn't there. Tried the next tree and finally saw it. Thought that was easy enough to get and the branches strong enough so up I went. Took a photo as proof it was me not one of the crew up the tree. My youngest son is usually the tree climber now but he's at Auckland Uni so I have to do them myself or plan to get them when he's around. My other tree climbing son is in Aussie. I took the wrong path out again so I had a longer walk back to the car than intended. Thanks for your fun hide here
Making our way down the peninsula and trying to navigate amongst the roads and walkways. Soon figured out where we wanted to go and Mr TW spied the cache and we all sent him up the tree to find it Very windy here today but a fun day out. TFTC
Went on a wet afternoon adventure with KBclannz and got the low down on caching! Mr 8 is loving the hunt. TFTC
We went hunting for this one with some friends who have a family bach here. They had walked past here so many times not knowing it was here. They really enjoyed the hunt so I hope we will see them hunting them selves soon enough. Our 5yo friend enjoyed the tree climbing aspect. Cache was in good condition and dry, plenty of log left. TFTC
Thankfully nobody came along the path while i was squinting into the trees. Finally found what i was looking for. Great to get some vertical exercise. [TFTC]
This was the second cache of the day. It was a nice walk to the tree tunnel, we always like a bit of a boardwalk. As soon as there was mention of a tree climb GeohoundandI was straight up the tree before she knew what to look for or where to look for it. It took a few minutes before I spotted it and directed her to it.
Another find with flossieteacake. I enjoy finding caches that involve climbing trees so this was one of my favourite for the day. TFTC
**21,440**After my DNF of Cams cache, I was not feeling overly confident as I approach this tunnel. Had read a few logs and finally got the gist of what was required. Spied the cache and then it was an easy climb to retrieve it. All done with not a muggle around using this walkway, maybe its still a bit early for the holidayers! TFTC
Jag 50 is the youngest member of the team and she soon had the cache in hand.I think we all could haveretrieved it. A lot easier than we thought.
Out with the Westie ladies on a sunny Autumnal day on a caching adventure. Wasnt sure quite what to expect here in the tree tunnel. Jag quickly spied the cache and climbed up to get this one for the team. TFTC
Wasn't sure what to expect in a tree tunnel!Luckily, Jag50 had read up the desciption in advance, and knew what was required. Net61 soon spotted the cache, and before we could even blink , MrsJag had the log in hand and passed it down for signing!Wasn't that tricky after all....!Was a bit worried when I saw the terrain rating, as I have never been a good tree climber!I guess that's why I bring younger and more agile GC friends out caching.
Send my big little monkey up the tree and he soon found it. Not at all scary for him rather good fun
No problems here, was able to spot the caches from below. Think this was a FTF too ?TFTC
This cache was published just before The Wonderstuff picked me up for some caching in the Warkworth area. I mentioned it to him but we decided Garball were much closer than us so we left it and did a few caches around Warkworth first. When we saw it was still unlogged late morning we decided to head up to Omaha. It wasnt til we were parked up and walking to the cache that I opened the cache page and read the description. Gulp, a tree climb! I hadnt even looked at the T rating! Id just seen a new cache by Jarstrat so knew it would be in the area we were caching today. Oh well, lets see what we find. I spied the cache from below and was grateful that TWS is taller and younger than me so could manage the climb which didnt prove to be too difficult for him. He passed the cache to me to log and I opened it to find a blank log so we signed for a joint {FTF} at 11.45am. FP given for the adventure.
