This one took us a while, well hidden cache! Great job. Sadly, we didnt have a pen to write our names down.
Well we looked all over the pillows. Apparently we were right on top of it but unfortunately it alluded us.
Checking on cache due to string of DNFs.The cache was still in place and good to go.Search harder I guess
A very reluctant DNF. We searched high and low and even tried using a metal detector to see if that would help. Our first DNF:( I do wonder if the difficulty rating needs adjusting because we have found others with higher difficulty values.
Hello fellow Geocachers! GryffindorFerret, Karla the Kangaroo and I are in Maroochydore and surroundings! Hoping to snag some quick caches, we set off, making it our mission to turn at least some of those green markers into happy little smiley faces. Unfortunately, it has been a very unsuccessful trip, with another DNF. It was very sad to hear about Sam. RIP Sam . Good luck geocaching, and we hope you have a good day HufflepuffCat8499, GryffindorFerret, and Karla the Kangaroo signing off. Note: We hope to drop Karla off at a geocache in Maroochydore, where she will hopefully find some nice new people to take her somewhere else!
This is a great one I dont know if I would have found it as I was sure it was going to be in the obvious place but little Linx got it!
We tried but didnt find it can someone tell me where is it ? Going crazy haha Nice view 1st Time seeing sand pillows !
Took me awhile figure it out and wait for mugggles goes Thank you Vote for favourite Sad for Sam
Couldn't find it, searched around for a while. There was a green string attached to one of the sign poles but there was nothing on the other end, not sure if it was hidden there.
Logging in response to the needs maintenance tag. The cache is still in place it is just a tricky one to find. The string reported dangling has nothing to do with the cache.
Took a bit of Hunting but got it in the end when you are at the right angle. Sad to hear about 13year old Sam. RIP
This was a refreshing spot to spend some time lost searching for it. Just when i was about to give up i came up with the goods yay
My final cache for the morning, I once again found myself beachside by the mouth of the Maroochy River. Seeing found logs after our search not too long ago made me think where we didn't search, and made me eager to avenge my DNF. I didn't have a whole heap of time to search here, so I gave myself 10 minutes here. Found it in the first place I looked this time . Great to avenge a DNF so quickly, Thanks Madman001 for this oceanside hide!
found with a hint from another cacher. my advice is be persistent. the place youre thinking its in is probably right, you just have to check all of them in the area. found with Woodwahdi. tftc!
Gave up. Probably needs a bit more crawling around than I was willing to do.
Madman001 I found your cache Sand Pillows on 4/7/2024, 10:50AM. This is my find 6795 and find # 5 today. Still there, found it after a brief search. Thanks for the cache, mate! TNSLLN
No luck with smallwombat this afternoon. We searched around for some time and had a few good ideas, but all we found were two fishing hooks. Thanks anyway Madman001, we will be back sooner or later!
No idea. Great spot for a geocache though. I've wanted to put one here for years and finally used it in an adventure lab to get people out here. One day I'll come back and hopefully find it then.
We looked in every nook and cranny of the pillows from start to end but were unable to find the cache
I pass by this one every day but haven't had a pen. Today I remembered a pen so wandered out to GZ and after a bit of slipping and sliding found the cache.Log signed and all returned as found.TFTC
A week away in Sunny Qld with my fav person Bogonghazy. Week away visiting my gorgeous daughter and partner. Hoping to get a whole lot more while we are here in sunny Qld. Thanks madman001 for placi g the geocache
Up for a week from Wintery Victoria with LittleBoss2 to visit her daughter. So, while they're at work, LB2 and I had an easy choice to fill in our day. This took a while with all those nooks n crannies, but worth it for the walk out to it. Thanks again Madman001
Checked up on it today which was a bit of a stealth mission as spot was busy. But confirmed that cache is still in place and ready to findHappy caching
An extensive and rather scary search in the dark with the waves crashing around. Way higher difficulty than 1.5. The only safe place to hide is the sign. But it is definitely not there. I suspect it has been washed away. Thanks for bringing me here anyway.
Fun little find! Took a bit of time, but searched out a little and came up with the good
FTT visiting the Sunshine Coast for the day and looking at caches and this one popped up and no one had found it so thought wed go for it and we found a clean log sheet happy days
As geowife and I approached what we thought was GZ, we could see a figure acting very suspiciously on the pillows. Turns out to be our friend Janet looking for a cache, so we joined forces in the search. After a few minutes Janet came up with the goods, we both signed the log and returned as found. Then the three of us sat on the pillow closest to the beach and had a chat and put the world to rights. A FP for the unique hide. TFTC Madman001
I think we have been to the sand pillows before doing an AL. My coords were constant pointing to the same spot but it did not yield the cache. Then it was an unplanned meet up at the pillows with dickbev. With a bit of a hint and after widening the search area a few meters the well hidden container was spotted. Log signed and replaced as found. It was a lovely afternoon to sit and have a chat at the beach. Thanks Madman001 for this one.
