A solo excursion for Mr Coblet.I have been to this park a few times but it has usually been in bad weather so I have never had a chance to see it in all its glory, and it was looking particularly lovely today. It was made even better by the fact I had it all to myself having arrived early before all the runners and dog walkers appeared. After finding another cache along the trail I walked to this one taking in the lovely scenery and enjoying the morning sun.Once at GZ I made a nice quick find in this perfect little hiding spot. Thanks Supernannny for another great cache and for bringing me back to this lovely park.
Mr KC and I carried on to this cache from the last while Mrs KC moved the car to the other end. Can't imagine I would be good at disc golf but there were a few people having a go today. TFTC
I was planning a 16km long run today as part of my training plan for a trail half marathon I was doing in less than two weeks in Rotorua. With a busy weekend, I was grateful for the public holiday. What better motivation to go that long distance and keep it pretty chill than to include geocaching along the way? I plotted out a route to try and incorporate as many unfound caches as possible along the loop, starting and finishing at Corban Estate.Just as I parked, the rain started. It was tempting to give in and go home, but alas I came prepared with a new lightweight raincoat I'd bought a few weeks earlier as compulsory gear for the Taupo Ultramarathon, but didn't need to use. So this was a good time to test it out, along with my new running vest before the big race. The raincoat got a lot of testing with some heavy rain later in the run! I happened to plot my route to go past my sisters house, and managed to convince my niece to come join my for the last 3km back to the car (she probably regretted her decision as the rain started again) and then I drove her back home. There was a muggle walking on this track ahead of me, so I waited for him to go ahead and be out of sight before I started my search. Didn't take too long to locate this one.
My 8 yr old grand-daughter Maddy attends Brownies and needed to do some outdoor activities for an adventure badge so we took her Geocaching. We rode our bikes along the pathway and stopped here first. Telling her how we play the game, she quickly got into the hunt and soon found her first cache. We signed the log and were soon on our way to the next cache. TFTC
It was a lovely day for a stroll once the sun came out. There was no one playing disc golf and no one in the park today, as JAG crunched over the autumn leaves towards gz. Once at gz, the cache was soon located. JAG stopped to check out some fungi near gz before continuing on along the path. Thanks SN for this hide
Great to come here and walk around and let off some steam after visiting my Alzheimer's mother.
Very good hide spot. A lot of work being done on paths and bridge. Had to take some detours but { FTF }TFTC
Last cache for me this morning, still very cold on the e-bike and getting to GZ, I thought there were 2 possibilities for the hide, either side of the track, but the first possibility looked more promising and sure enough I was correct. Another type of container here, 3rd different one this morning. Lovely established trees along this path, I love it. I wish all walkways had that. Thanks supernanny for the hide, I see the nearby bridge is closed, scaffold is being put up so I wonder what's going on. I checked up on my Corban's cache, the tree trimming has seen it gone, then all those houses that are derelict along Edmonton Rd, about 6 of them. They all were removed yesterday with a large digger machine, so took fotos of the bare ground as I made my way home on my e-bike.
