Another great event as part of the annual Cache Crawl. Thanks micaparamedic for the very welcome, delicious and nourishing minestrone soup.It was great to catch up with Jtnsilo there, such a long time since Ive seen her. Also very pleased to find Lorigus74 there who kindly offered me a lift home from the final event in Seymour tomorrow, saving me a late bus and taxi trip.Such a great idea to spread the crawl over two days.It has not been as hectic as the first two of these that I have attended.
We had a fantastic time with the Cache crawl, stopping at different places along the way
Travelling with my mate, Bemused Keith, we stopped off here for a bite to eat before continuing our cache finding journey. Thanks for organising this event, micaparamedic, it's great to have a chance to meet, and chat with, our fellow cachers.
This was a great location for the event. I must come and spend time here and do the rest of the caches. Luckily we brought our own food for this event as neither of us could eat the offerings unfortunately. It was great to catch up with others we hadnt seen for ages.
The cache crawl was on and this year apart from the Friday night dinner which I couldn't make it to I will be doing the whole crawl. Eventually the weather got better later in the day.Busy spot here and some of us even managed to sneak some food from the parties nearby until they realised it wasn't ours! Loved the soup too. Thanks micaparamedic for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.
**Day 1, Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024 (GVCC)**I am travelling with Connie of [@ConnieandRick](https://coord.info/PR15PZNT) on day 1 of the GVCC. We decided to do the Ad Lab around the lake, and wouldn't you know it, about halfway around the rain belted down. Had we brought an umbrella? Noooooo of course not! And while Connie did the sensible thing and wait out the rain in the bus shelter, I decided to visit the little island and get completely drenched. Oh well, luckily Gary had put on the soup which wasn't just good for the tummy but also good for my ego ?? Thanks micaparamedic for hosting and for the warming soup. Mmmmmm homemade soup!! Thanks micaparamedic for doing the cooking on this occasion. A lovely park to explore as well. Love all the art pieces.
What a lovely place Bendigo is to visit. We enjoyed the kids playground here and then continuing to hook up with Wozzy and Chunk to enjoy some adventure labs and caching together. My travel buddies include the gorgeous Snap Happy and the lovely TheDame. OMG Gary, wow, the hot soup looked and smelt AMAZING!! You certainly out did yourself.Thank you so much for hosting this event and for contributing to this fabulous Victorian Cache Crawl weekend!
A beaut weekend exploring Victoria with others on "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl". Thank you very much to all of the event hosts and to Geocaching Victoria.
With the sun finally trying to break through the persistent rainclouds, nothing was going to deter the intrepid cachers from enjoying lunch at this lovely park. Thanks for organising and hosting this event, micaparamedic ??
Found 17 Aug 2024 at 1:06:35PMOut for the weekend with sedgwickDave, aim was to attend many of the Cache Crawl 24 events and find some select caches along the way.A quick stop here before heading for Mt Terrick. Many thanks to micaparamedic for placing The Great Victorian Cache Crawl - Bendigo for us all to find. Happy International Geocaching Day!It was time to start the Great Victorian Cache Crawl and with scores of geocachers already in the area it was a great atmosphere. Plenty of social opportunities, loads of caches to find and just good fun to be had! With the car packed, there was only one thing left to do - Find some caches! This was one of the many stops made along the way.We were a little late to this one owing to an extended search for a cache. The weather went from sunny to rain to sunny in minutes. Thanks to ample shelter the crawl continued along with other parties in the park while we consumed the great soup of the CO.Thanks for being part of the Great Victorian Cache Crawl.A big thanks goes to micaparamedic for taking the time to add The Great Victorian Cache Crawl - Bendigo to the geocaching map for us all to find and enjoy.-Are you ready for Victorias next big event?Join us for Victorias first ever *Block Party* to celebrate 25 years of geocaching.**When:** March 22 - 23, 2025**Where:** Hume Global Learning Centre, SunburyLog your will attend at [**GCAP417: The Sunbury Event** ](https://coord.info/GCAP417) Visit our [**Block Party website** ](https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/the-sunbury-event) for more details on the exciting lineup of events and activities as they are released!
Yummie soup - just what the doctor ordered. [^] The 2024 Geocaching Victoria Event Crawl: Day 3: The Crawl from Sunbury to EcuchaTwo days of traveling over from S.A. and three days of Events, numerous Adventure Labs, lots of fun, mishaps, and even a few caches found as we crawled around in search of smilies. My companions for the Crawl were Muff1. So Good to catch up with lots of caching friends. [:X]**Thanks micaparamedic for organizing this great event. **
The weather isn't great today but when we arrived, it was great. Can't say the same for when we left. Have to say that lunch was delicious. Thanks for the event and lunch.
The Grandies weren't happy when I said I'd visited the butterfly park. Always love coming here and an added bonus today was the yummy lunch provided. Well attended event. Thanks for bringing us here again and for lunch.
**Found with the beautiful GoodLook and The (lovely) Dame.** *On our first Great Victorian Cache Crawl weekend*. The thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more than a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less travelled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be. I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own. Power trails just aren't as much fun by yourself. The weather was glorious, the vistas stunning, the coffee shops and pubs wonderful and the company divine. Many laughs ensued as we made our way North with 50+ of our closest a-cache-aintanes Thank you micaparamedic for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Appreciate your efforts. - PThanks for the virtual micaparamedic. **Event** *#231***Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Cache on! **#18909**
Found 1:10 pmThis was the second event and made in time to get the group photo taken. Enjoyed a nice cup of soup while a passing rain shower passed over GZ. Then it was off to find more caches heading northward on the crawl with ahomburg.TFTC micaparamedic
It was up early to attend all the events on this weekend for International Geocaching Day. Starting in Sunbury, then Malmbury, it was now a stop in Bendigo. These events turned out to be mini-Megas - very well-attended.I was not familiar with this Lake Neangar. The event here meant I had an opportunity to explore the lab cache around it too afterwards! Thanks micaparamedic, and all the other COs co-ordinating these events which comprised a great weekend.*******The Great Victorian Cache Crawl, International Geocaching Day**2024 - 628km : Sunbury - Echuca - Seymour 2023 - 607km : Ararat - Healesville - Ferntree Gully2022 - 631km : Phillip Island - Queenscliff

What a weekend... Aim for this weekend was to hit my 3000th Cache and have an awesome time on the cache crawl. Left early afternoon Friday iwh the muggle wife and headed up to Macedon stopping at a few caches along the way.Checked into our hotel in Macedon and then heading across to Riddell's Creek for the pre crawl dinner. A great crowd and some tasty food then it was back for an early night.Saturday morning I woke to a lot of rain that continued throughout the day, first stop was Sunbury for the 7am meet a few caches in the town and then up the road to Malmsbury for a pie and a coffee, next was onto Bendigo for lunch and a walk around the lake. After that it was on the road again to Colbinabbin for a cup of tea and to celebrate Roaming Howies 18,000 cache. The painted Silo's are amazing... next was a drive up to Echuca to check into the hotel. After a brief rest and a walk along the river we heading to the pub for dinner, followed by a few drinks in the Gin Distillery. In the morning I headed over to NSW to grab a few ad labs before the breakfast meet and then it was back on the road again to Cussen Park in Tatura for the CITO followed by lunch. After lunch it was onto the final stop in Seymour to celebrate the mazing cache crawl and my 3000th cache on my 6th Anniversary of Geocaching. A massive thanks to every who helped organise and support the event, everyone who hid the caches and gave me pointers when I was stuck. What an awesome community we have. 793Km covered and 116 Caches found... not a bad weekend. Thanks for the cache and the hideLog Book has been signed and Returned or answers sent to cache ownerFind #2955
Another Cache Crawl event with the added bonus of the hosts hot soup that went down a treat on this wintery day. Thanks micaparamedic for the event.
A weekend away on The Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024. Last year we completed half. This year we are aiming for the full crawl. Thanks micaparamedic for creating for us all to enjoy. While chook is away chunk will play. Out with wozzle and the tritons for cache crawl. Thanks to all the owners of caches that we will find, and may we make many more memory's.
Some great workmanship in the play equipment but sadly the queues were too long. Lovely soup. Thanks for everything. TFTC.
Thank you for the lovely warm soup and for running this event micaparamedic. Thank you to McLookers for providing the lovely fresh bread rolls.
What a beautiful playground! Luckily I brought the geokid, Oliver, with me so he could enjoy it too!
Great location, even gate crashed a couple of other birthday parties. Delicious soup and excellent company. Thanks for the event micaparamedic.
A beautiful little spot for a bit of soup and a bread roll. Very pleasant when the sun came out and everyone warmed up enough to do a lap of the lake. Thanks for the event and the soup.
Attended as part of the great Victorian Cache Crawl .An awesome way to find some caches and catch up with some like minded !Love the idea of the road trip .Great soup by the way !TftcMicaparamedic
Phew snuck in late but just managed the find. Thanks for keeping a cup of soup out for me.
Great soup..great to see everyone in attendance.. thanks to all the organisers
Another catch up, pity didnt have time to try the flying Fox out. Darn kids wouldnt get off!
Soup, bread roll, great company and chatting about all things caching. What more could you want on a rainy winters day. Thank you micaparamedic for your culinary delights.
Great event here. Soup was fantastic given the weather. Thanks for hosting this one.
Thank you MP for the delish soup, that and all nice people made the crappy weather more bearable.
Find # 16000Special number so took the bike. Not following the crawl this year. So I decided on a single event and to take the new KTM390 ADVENTURE for a run.Yep... wile the rain was a little annoying from St.Arnaud to Eaglehawk. It was kinda fun in a weird way.Thankfully, some great geo buddies were around to see the new set of wheels that they had heard of.I had a cool time, been a while since I've bn to an event. Might have to plan on attending some more, that I can take the bike too that is. Perfect excuse for a ride in the rain. The ride home was a blast. Only one shower that has stopped by time I got to the Stupa. After that it was just the wind to play with. ??TFTC micaparamedic
A great turnout for this the third event on the Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024. As host, it was pleasing to see so many enjoying themselves at this event. A big thanks to Grub62 for donating the disposable cups, McLookers for donating the bread rolls, Thumpa67 for helping dish out and a special thanks to Crack'n'LeeLee for the unexpected gift, love it.I hope everyone has enjoyed themselves today and managed to avoid the rain.
This was the second of my two planned Cache Crawl events for today. I arrived a few minutes after the start and the party was in full swing. Everyone complimented the minestrone soup and commented on how appropriate it was for today's lousy weather. My thanks to micaparamedic for organising the event.
After an early start to the day we made our was to the Bendigo for the third event of The Great Victorian Cache Crawl. The weather was not kind but we managed to get an Adventure Lab walking around the lake. Thank you micaparamedic for organising this event and to all the people who helped create this weekend experience.
Our third cache crawl event was another enjoyable event with lots attending. Great location enabling a nice walk around the lake despite the dodgy weather. Thanks to all involved in organising.
Thank you micaparamedic for organizing this well attended event. Thank you to the cook of the delicious minestrone soup and to those who supplied the bread rolls and other condiments. I am sure the children who were celebrating a birthday party nearby wondered what hit them when such a huge crowd of geocachers descended upon them and gathered nearby.
I'm loving being part of the Great Victorian Cache Crawl this year. It was a lovely spot near the lake to have lunch however the weather was very odd, brilliant sunshine one minute and pouring rain the next.
Of course Mary & David were there. Special thanks to our host for the superb soup. Sadly the rain is still passing through. Our thanks to micaparamedic.
This was my second event for today. When I arrived there was a large group of geocachers sharing the shelter with two other parties. Their food looked okay but the geocachers had minestrone soup and fresh rolls. The soup was very tasty and very suitable for the cold, wet weather.I walked around the lake, came back to chat to a few people and then I headed off to do a few hours of geocaching around Bendigo before I drove home.Thank you micaparamedic for hosting this event and for supplying the yummy soup.
A lovely setting for lunch, thanks micaparamedic for the warming soup on this unpredictable weather day. LetThemEatCache and I arrived early, did a circuit of the lake, got soaked to the skin in a sudden downpour, then watch the sun come out for the event.
Event #3 of 5 for the day. It felt like there were a LOT of geocachers here for our lunch stop. Thanks to Micaparamedic for hosting the event and supplying soup (and thanks to McLookers for the rolls, and Grub62 for the cups). There was even a birthday cake and balloonsoh wait, thats not for us? Oops, 60+ geocachers just crashed a kids birthday party. LOL!!!! A memorable event on a great day of geo adventures
17 August 2024 13:28Second event of the Cache Crawl, which happened to be our first crawl overall .What an awesome way to socialise with our friends, and find caches all around this beautiful State we live in.Thank you to all the organisers for an excellent job in planning and organising which culminated in a super weekend ??.
We had a fantastic time at last years event crawl so there was no way known that we were going to miss this one, even though only half the team made the first leg.We were quite surprised to see the amount of teams that turned up for this one and it was great to catch up with friends that we hadn't seen for quite awhile. Many stories and laughs were had and all too quickly it was time to leave and start heading towards the next one. Many thanks for the event, the lovely hot soup was really yummy .
This was the 2nd event that catnap777 and I got to, and we followed the rest of the crawl via Colbinabbin to Echuca for dinner. We look forward to seeing you all again at our CITO and lorigus74's lunch events at our home town of Tatura on day2 of "The Crawl". It was a wonderful day in not so wonderful weather. Thanks micaparamedic for the awesome soup and the lesson on bits we missed doing your Earthcaches. ...and thanks of course to the rest of the crew behind this series of events. [^]
There was a birthday party in the park to that found them vastly outnumbered all of a sudden. The committee, although doing an amazing job of catering, I noticed some cachers eyeing off the party favours next door. The scooter also made a few people's trips easier around the nearby adlabs.
The first day of The Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024 and 2 days of fun and laughs has started. After the breakfast event in Sunbury I gained a front seat passenger for the day and the dog and possum that usually occupy the front seat were not happy about the relegation to the back seat.We are heading north and we started looking for caches that jumped out on us or looked interesting in the time we had before arriving at the next event. We are hoping the rain disappears soon or hopefully its going to a quick park and fond kind of day.So its now time for the third event for the day at Bendigo (and the soup was very delicious so thanks Gary) and we kind of gate crashed a couple of kids birthday partys at the shelter as well.I dont think that the weather can make up its mind as we got wet getting there and also back to the Geocruiser as well. Thanks micaparamedic TFTCCEC.
We were slightly less late to this event than the previous two today. We're improving!
My plan for this weekend was attending most of the "The Great Victorian Cache Crawl" while collecting old geocaches, multicaches, and a tree climb for the adventure. Plus, whatever else caught our eyes as we passed.Of the old geocaches, it looks like we got...X2 2001X2 2002X2 2005X1 2006X3 2007Favourite caches of the weekend we were the 2001 caches. Not because they were old ones, but because the items at GC255F were completely unexpected, and the adventure at GC277B of walking over the flooded spillway and climbing the cliff in the rain was risky and therefore exciting. Overall, not huge numbers of caches found, but a great weekend adventure. Big thanks to Geocaching Victoria for organising the events and getting so many geocachers to attend. Great location and well attended from locals and geocachers. Lots of chats were going on as we strolled around. Thanks for the cache, Mica Para Medic.Hunter
13:45The third leg of three, catching public transport between Cache Crawl events, involved a train to Bendigo, then a twenty or so minute wait for the #52 bus. Obviously I spent that time finding a cache or two before getting on just as the rain started.Miraculously, it stopped just before I got off the bus around the corner from the lake.I beat the event organiser to the venue. ??Nice soup, micaparamedic. It really hit the spot on this showery afternoon.#9111
Thanks @micaparamedic for hospitality and minestrone. It was good to have the hot drink as the rain came down again.
Great catch up with folk I've not seen for some time. Thanks to Gary for the hot soup!
A great get together. Good to catch up with everybody. Thanks for the yummy soup.
I had some yummy Minestrone Soup to warm me up before heading out to continue the Cache Crawl. Thanks for organizing micaparamedic.
