Stopped over at the bunnings for a snag and to pick up long needed gloves for the nastier hiding places. Tftc!
I was near this caches home earlier today, and checked on it. Its still there. So far, the muggle-repellent spray is working!(for all you serious people reading this, that was a joke, not a hint)
I was on foot while my car was in service, and I still had a couple more hours to go before it was ready I made a detour to find some caches, and as a few more km to my days walking. Thanks for the cache.
Routine checkCache still in good nick, log dry and still plenty of space for more finders.Pls replace well back
#7598-we were certainly keeping those doggies moving . By the time we got to the one. On a roll with thomo31s. Thanks
A midweek day off and nothing planned, so an easy choice to go caching for the day!TFTC Wilbert67
A quick park and wait, wait grab sign, then wait, wait all clear replaced, thanks.
Today frazeydaze and I headed over to Gregory Hills to grab some of the COs caches including those in The Old TV Westerns Series. Being a child of the forties I can remember the first family TV arriving In the household at the end of the fifties. I also remember the TV shows mentioned in this series, however, as I had little say on what was watched I probably only was a regular viewer of four or five of the shows. I do remember that two of my favourites were Rawhide and Have Gun Will Travel with Paladin - gee I wanted one of his business cards. Another one that I enjoyed and that's not included in the series was Wagon Train staring Ward Bond. Now Rawhide is one show I do remember, especially the theme song. Rolling, Rolling, Rolling - a very catchy tune. It took a few viewings to sort out the actors among the cattle, horses and wagons. Cache all good. SLRC as found. TFTC
Out caching with oldmorty.I remember watching most of these Westerns but dont know if they were the original broadcasts or replays.Quick find of nicely tucked away cache. Thanks to Quiffle for the memories.
A nice container. Appreciate the hint in this potentially busy location. TFTC Quiffle
Love the cryptic clue. Cute little container. Amazing how often I've driven down this road but never set foot on this path or noticed the trees that seem to be popular in this series.
Back agin' pards. Extry Hint so y'ain't gotta search s'much. Keep an eye peeled for them rustlers when you be a-lookin"
These Old TV Westerns (OTVW) bring back fond memories from my youth. Watching on the old B&W TV, so much smaller than today's widescreen monsters, I enjoyed many of these shows about the cowboy heroes facing saving the day while riding in the old wild west. Now that the OTVW series is complete (well I think so), I decided to get the Brewmobile out of the corral, head out of The Shire and venture into The Wild West. A self-imposed covid isolation period for the last week or so, meant I was eager to get back on the caching horse. This and a bunch of other Quiffle caches, were just the tonic to fix me up. After today's adventure, I think I have a new word: Quiffling - the art of finding several caches placed by Quiffle on the one day.Well, did I make a real hash of this one. The CO informed me that it was ready again, so after parking across the road, I headed to GZ. I had an extra hint, but I over thought it and spent ages looking in all the wrong spots. I sent a few messages, and even with extra intel, I still couldn't make any progress. Finally, I realised that I needed to be a bit more adventurous, and with that it was CIH. A new log sheet with my name added. And all the Quiffling for the day was complete. TFTC and the OTVW series.
Them rustlers is around. This little dogie ain't with the herd no more. Prob'ly take a feller a week or so to git 'nuther one.
No luck even with a PAF we will be back Thanks Quiffle for placing this cache GCAQGF2
Streak Day #3965 - Out this way with Dave8153 for our cache of the day, stopped by for a quick find. TFTC
19 May 2024This is find number: 9724Streak Day: 3076Found Today with Snoopy1976, a quick and easy find in the early hours of this morning. ThanksThanks to Quiffle for placing and maintaining this cache. TFTC
Another great themed cash, had to read up Tom Sawyer for the clue. Then found a nicely hidden cache. In the title song, Frankie Laine mispronounces "dogies" as "doggies". A dogie is a motherless calf, not a canine..dont try to understand em, just rope throw and brand em.. you know the rest.Sure brings back lots of memories. Unlike many of the others , can still catch it on FOXTEL. TFTC
Who can forget Rowdy Yates - if you were a baby Boomer and later to become the famous Clint Eastwood. He was just 30 when this series started and is still with us ,turns 93 on the 31 May(2024). Amusingly , after parking at Bunnings it was around 55 metre walk to ground zero . On arrival to GZ it was a matter to take note of the hint to pull out a cute looking home manufactured cache which held another conventional cache and log.The Coordinates were spot on which made the find easier. TFTC Quiffle
So hoped to get FTF but I was beaten to the spot.this one took a bit of persistence.
