Today the track to GZ was dry, so The Driver agreed to drive there to save my energy and, more importantly, time. When I got there I was astounded with what I saw! Such shapes and colours! Thanks for bringing us here, Micaparamedic.

With a family wedding Sims_family had a couple of days in Bendigo and after the days rehearsal the weather was too glorious to pas up not being out in nature for a while. Being Earthcache week and the fact that Sims_family Mum loves an Earthcache this one was high on the list of must do things for the day.sims_family Mum thoroughly enjoyed the lesson the Kids less so but followed along with the school lesson anyway.Thank you micaparamedic for the Earthcache

Answers have been sent to the CO. This was an interesting Earth Cache to visit with thought provoking questions. Thankfully I was able to access the area with the assistance of another cacher with a 4WD. A favourite point.

Visited with catnap777 between GVCC Events on 17/8/24 @1:17pm After a bit of a dash down the path between showers, we made it to GZ, checked our bearings and took some pics of this remarkable example of sedimentary layering to take back with us to the car before more rain fell. We were pretty sure we had all the right answers to submit a plausible assessment. Cat' and I were glad to meet up with the CO at his event in The Great Victorian Cache Crawl who, after a short Q&A discission, gently instructed us on the errors of our ways enough to grant us logging rights. All this was done as he was serving us some of his delicious home made soup that he supplied for all in attendance. Thankyou micaparamedic, for your soup and your patience...... and your Earthcaches.

The three excellent examples of an Earthcache by the CO, were undertaken during the Great Victorian Cache Crawl. GC4QEPH, GCAR2Y4 and GCATAC1.We were following the greatest show on the road from Malmsbury, heading to Bendigo and eventually Echuca. It was at the Bendigo event that we met up with the illustrious CO, and asked for his advice on the above mentioned Earthcaches. We thought we had things under control and were sure we had, at the very least, a basic understanding of what he was trying to teach us.Is there a word that covers our level of understanding as below basic? With some good advice on a tool to use regarding one of these Earthcaches, and us answering a few questions whilst at an event hosted by the generous CO, who by the way made a few pots of the best soup I have had in a while. The soup contained a conglomerate of ingredients and had a perfect consistency and flavour, we were given the go ahead to log our finds, and spur us on to studying in greater detail the areas we are lacking.Thank you micaparamedic for the lessons and the soup, but most of all your love of teaching us something that you obviously love.dalerious will post each photo of us in situ at each site.

The first day of The Great Victorian Cache Crawl 2024 and 2 days of fun and laughs has started. After the breakfast event in Sunbury I gained a front seat passenger for the day and the dog and possum that usually occupy the front seat were not happy about the relegation to the back seat.We are heading north and we started looking for caches that jumped out on us or looked interesting in the time we had before arriving at the next event. We are hoping the rain disappears soon or hopefully its going to a quick park and fond kind of day.So after the third event for the day at Bendigo (the soup was delicious) there was time for a couple more caches before continuing on.We were not sure what we would be in for with the recent rain but we made our way into here and had a good look around and found a very interesting area.Answers have been sent to the CO.Thanks micaparamedic TFTEC.

I wish I had been there to hear your great oration on the 17th of last month. However sickness kept me away.I returned to Bendigo today with Featherdown and just 6 caches were carefully chosen. This being one of them.I have crossed this geological feature some time ago for a cache. Back then I was more concerned about tripping over. Today I examined carefully what was underfoot and my answers submitted for Featherdown and I.You know that I consider you the father of geocaching geology....A favourite point from me!

Found by The Empire + HAs we entered Bendigo, we were immediately struck by the city's blend of historic charm and modern vibrancy. Bendigo, with its rich gold rush history, has preserved many of its grand Victorian buildings, giving the city a unique and timeless character. The paths were well-maintained and easy to navigate, winding through dense scrub and open areas that showcased the region's unique geology. Continuing along the trail, we reached the geological reserve's heart, where layers of rock told a story millions of years in the making. We stood in awe as we observed the exposed rock layers, noting the varying colors, grain sizes, and orientations.Reflecting on our observations, we couldn't help but think of Nicolas Steno, the father of stratigraphy, who had laid the foundations for our understanding of rock layers. His principles of superposition, original horizontality, lateral continuity, and cross-cutting relationships were all evident in the formations before us, making our visit not only a visual delight but also an educational experience. Answers sent. Thanks for the earthcache micaparamedic.-MEarthcache #435

Following on from the nearby event in a tram, we took the short drive over here.+Wife sat this one out. EveTheStaffy and I walked in with the group.A very interesting location and informative geology lesson from the CO.Thank you, micaparamedic, for this Earthcache.

Found by Mary and David at 15:15. Came here with the Benders Event crowd that included the CO, who gave his usual excellent rundown on what lay before us. Fascinating geology here. Our thanks to micaparamedic.

How fortunate were we today having a Masterclass with micraparmedic teaching a group of us all about geology and in particular the effect certain geological principles have on our surrounds. Thank you for bringing us here micaparamedic and taking the time with us all to ask questions. A fav point from us.Happy Cachemas

My first earthcache, although I have been to a few GZ's before, this will be my first timing logging one.Headed up with Sol de Lune and the group after the tram stop event and listed in as micaparamedic gave us the low down on the area. Certainly learnt a few things and it was interesting to learn more about the area. One thing I certainly learnt was that I should have taken photo at the location. I'll speak to someone about that and make sure I do next time. Glad McLookers has posted one, as I see I managed to be in that one. Thanks for the lesson here micaparamedic...all very interesting. Would add a fav point, but I haven't managed to earn any yet.

A day trip to Bendigo from Ballarat and after lunch and then the nearby event, the group headed up to find out all about the White Hills Sediments Reserve. A great lesson from micaparamedic on the geology of area where we learnt more about it all. Some great colours in the rocks around the area and interesting to see the formations that covered such a wide area. Thanks again to micaparamedic for the lesson and discussion. Fav point added.

After the event nearby, the convoy moved onto this newly published EC. We had the added bonus of a masterclass by the CO. What a revelation this area is, and how lucky were we to be able to learn so much more about it.What a way to complete an EC. A favourite from me.Thanks for the earthcache micaparamedic.

Being [FTF] always feels special and this one really gave me a lift today. I got the notification this morning but had some other things i had to take care of first so i was unsure if i would be beaten to the find. I parked and walked in and as i went i noticed tyre tracks so i was sure i had been pipped. Im glad i continued because the rock was washed clean and its colours were spectacular after the rain last night. It was also great to learn a little about sedimentary geology with a concise and enjoyable little lesson. I am looking forward to getting up to Echuca to do your other new earthcache, it sounds fascinating. This is find number 3,679 for me. A fun earthcache I enjoyed finding as one of my caching adventures in Bendigo. I am logging this one on Tuesday 16 July 2024 at 12:00 pm and the weather is Light Rain 16C 60% 4 m/s . Thanks for placing this cache for the rest of us to enjoy micaparamedic.*Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
