Logs
Trouve We had a geo walk around Kaiteriteri and enjoyed a drink on the beach for the sunset.
8.1 World travelers adventure log.Out and about exploring the world with Nildran on this epic adventure! Thanks for adding to our memories and letting us explore your favorite spots all over the world! It continues to be a wild ride!TFTC SL If you find yourself at a local pub during trivia night, and the category is:'States shaped like a Mitten'here is some information that may help you win that round:Michigan trivia 8.19. Your Hand's Practically A Map Of Your New Home StateIts pretty easy to travel around Michigan when you think about it. The "thumb" is the east side, Detroit sits south, and the fingers up top are where Traverse City and Mackinac Island point UP. Makes sense, right? (The UP sort of looks like a bird trying to fly away).10. Rainfall Smells Like Rotten BeerSeriously, thats what itll remind you of. Some say it's the sign of one of Michigan's freakish thunderstorms. Others think it just smells. When the rain falls and the clouds get a little thicker, you'll smell it, too.11. How to Spot Your Car Under Eight Feet of SnowYou will develop your own internal radar for your car, guaranteed. When that lake effect snow piles on youll come to know which hill is actually your vehicle. It's kind of like Michigan magic.12. Venison Is the Best Meat You'll Ever TasteDeer season is big in Michigan, so don't be surprised if you start getting a hankering for good ol' fashioned venison. If youve never had it, youll get hooked fast.13. "Mackinac" and "Mackinaw Actually Sound the SameSome say "Mack-in-ack," and others say "Mack-in-awe." In reality the only "Mackinac" is the Mackinac Bridge, which many call the "Big Mac. Mackinac Island, Fort Mackinac, Mackinac Straits, and Mackinaw City, however, are all pronounced with an "awe" at the end. Arent you glad I told you?14. It'll Take Several Years To Learn To Play EuchreThis game might just be better than poker. At first you'll think you're on a different planet as you sit with Michiganders for a friendly game of Euchre, but give yourself a few years and you just might get the gist of at least a bit of this game.15. The S.S. Badger Isn't Just a Transport Across Lake MichiganIf you just want a quick ride across the lake, take Muskegon's Lake Express. If you want an adventure, that's what Ludington's S.S. Badger is for. There's a movie theater, a small casino, a bar, and satellite television.
I parked up and headed off down the track. On the way I was thinking that this track had been developed since last time I was here for Biggles' caches. Then as I got closer I saw the old track below and where I needed to head. I was very lucky the tide was out and so managed to pick my way along the boards and grasses for a quick find. Its so nice to be back over here today before the crowds all arrive for the Summer. TFTC # 22,738
We had just found the cache when the phone rang. Change of plans as we had hoped to find caches in Motueka on the way home but we only had time to look for a couple more in Kaiteriteri. This had been the longest search but it wasn't too long.Thanks.
Out for a days caching with Agazo.I was here the day this was published grabbing two ftfs nearby and unfortunately dont have the tech to get notifications on the phone and missed out on a third one.We were concerned that the tide might be a bit too high. Having knowledge of Biggles hide here helped to make the grab while keeping my feet dry.TFTC
I looked for this cache a few weeks ago, but gave up when my shoes started taking on water. I was with Marchwood today and I didn't really care if his feet got wet, so he was able to find the cache for us. TFTC.
Last along this track and a find made by the youthful half of the team. Off now for a check on a cache of ours not too far away.TFTC Sidewaze#9742
