Today was a very early start with a drive to the airport for a 6 am flight to Cairns and day one of our North Queensland geocaching trip.Snickersallan and I were met at the airport by Grannysmith and Bluewattle. The bags were thrown into the car and we were off for a day of adventure. First off it was up to Kuranda, then across to Mareeba, down to Atherton and Millaa Millaa. It was then over to Innisfail before working our way back to Cairns, to arrive just in time for the night time event. It was nice to see a couple of locals turn up to the event, thank you.After the event it was an assault on a poor old trad outside the venue, lol.Thank you everyone for coming along

It was an eventful first day driving to many locations, and we arrived in time to meet up with some lovely local cachers and a few familiar faces at this event.The location was great, and the food was delicious. Then, on completion of our catch-up, a group of us decided to go night catching, and it was good to have some local knowledge with us to help find our way around by the light of a full moon.Thanks to chamad for organising this good event
Thanks chamad for organising and hosting this fun event. Always a pleasure to meet visiting cachers and share some stories of why living in Far North Queensland is fantastic. Sounds like you are working on some exciting plans for October 2025, so we will be on the lookout for the cache details when they are posted. Enjoy your drive up to Cooktown.
