Today we headed out from Oatlands to find a few caches in the area that we either dnf or are new since our last visit.This one was a nice quick find am getting used to this style of hide now, although all the others weve found like this have had spiders inside, this one however had a TB. Picked that up and will move to another Tassie location soon. TFTC ??

As we had an unexpected trip south yesterday, we took the opportunity to look for caches in the recently published Highway 1 series. Yesterday we looked for the caches as we headed south - today we looked for caches on the other side of the highway as we headed north.This is an excellent series with well designed caches placed thoughtfully and with safe parking very close by. There were some interesting cache containers, with one particular style we hadn't seen previously - a great design used in a number of hides. Unless stated otherwise, coordinates were accurate (within 5m) and the caches were in good condition.The CO's, quite rightly, have included a very important warning about walking from one side of the highway to the other. It would be remiss of us not to add another. *In some places there are U-turn bays which allow safe access to a cache on the other side of the highway. However, once on the other side, the same access cannot be used safely nor legally to return to the original direction of travel - instead backtracking in the direction opposite of your intended travel is necessary before resuming your original direction of travel.* If possible, the caches are best tackled by looking for those on the side of the road you are travelling, not the other side of the highway. Yesterday we travelled south and were able to find 17 without crossing the highway. Today we looked for the other 16 tomorrow as we travelled north.Thanks Tas_Geo for this cache and the very enjoyable series.

A new series of caches on the Midland Highway published in the week before I was heading north for the 'Hobart Show Day' long weekend - nice one.With the GeoGSP's loaded in the car, today we headed north.Once again, a lovely short diversion off the highway to a safe place to park and the cache was quickly found.

Hi Tas_Geo. Today we found your cache on the Devo trip for the year. VK7HCH and I hatched yet another plan to whip it up to the north to continue our plundering of caches both GC and GCA. As there are so many caches in this area we had freedom of choice to do those we wished to. We have solved a few puzzles so we can find those and lots of others. Although I didnt find the girl U want, the caches were enough. Its a beautiful world here in Tassie. Thanks for hiding the cache for us to find today. Swampy and I headed back to plunder more of the Northern coast over the Hobart Show long weekend. 4 day long weekend for 1 days annual leave. Sweet. This is day 1. Hobart to Devonport via the central highlands. This run has us finding both GC and GCA caches. So many caches, so little time. **FTF**11:25amBeing such a nice day we decided to go for a casual drive along the Midland Highway with our grandson. He was very excited to find some treasure. We had this newly published series in mind but sometimes we had to wait for our return journey to grab some of them.The grandson was eager to get out of the car to locate this one. He took over the phone and counted down the meters and quickly located the well constructed cache! Once again delighted to be FTF. We made sure that the container was replaced as we found it!Great work again so TFTC.
