Up in Orewa for a few days with ABCDF4Some great caches up here Thanks to the CO for a enjoyable time in Orewa
Needed to find a cache for International Geocaching day and needed to pick up something from the nearby supermarket, so this cache ticked both boxes. A nice quick find here in the rain. TFTC
This was our last cache of the day as the other 2 new ones in the area had popped up after we had got home. Managed to make a discreet find here and celebrated our 100% with lunch at a nearby cafe. TFTC
Still in the area after a couple of new caches, perhaps there's more to come? Either way, needed to head to the supermarket, so this cache made a lot of sense. A nice easy find here, TFTC!
Heading back home further south after a great week up at Whangarei and Whangarei Heads. Lots of long walks and geocaching in cold but beautiful weather. A quick find here on our way to buy some lunch. TFTC
Thank you to The Wonderstuff, my first find since being out of my cat for a broken ankle.
Out for lunch at the Tent so had to find this one after some shopping at Countdown too. Quick find after reading description. TFTC
I remember many years ago there was a Three Guys in Glen Eden...Came here today with Net61 , as I had 2 or 3 caches to find in the area Net61 soon located it, but I did the reaching. Not too hard!
**#21,455**Luckily no Guys were seen during the find of this cache, a muggle free find for us tonight.TNLN TFTC!
I was sorting dinner when this was published so didnt notice it for 30 mins. I dont usually rush out at night but when I saw where it was I figured it was safe enough and also it was way too close to home to ignore, just 1.5km away! So off I go and park up in the Countdown/Woolworths carpark. For some reason my phone didnt want to settle so I was walking round in circles trying to narrow down where I needed to be. Next thing the community patrol car drives slowly by and drives into the car park. I know my neighbour does the patrol so not wanting to be confronted for acting suspiciously I decide to head to my car and wait it out when who should I bump into but Flossie. By this time the patrol car had driven out the other side of the car park and with 2 of us searching we looked less dodgy (I think) and were able to hopefully discreetly get the cache, sign the log for joint {FTF} and then have a gossip before getting out of the cold and heading home.
Joint FTF with merlot58, in the dark, with a howling gale blowing around.Daddypig's Assistant wanted another driving lesson, but in the dark this time. I was nicely settled on the sofa and really not wanting to go out. And then the notification popped up on my phone. I had a think, most people would probably still be cooking dinner but we had eaten early. Did she still want to drive? Apparently that was a stupid question, and before I had got the geohound in the car she had put the "L" plates on and was revving the engine. We pulled up across the road from Countdown and that was when I spotted it, the tell tale sign of a cacher trying for a FTF, a lady with a phone lurking in the dark around the big sign. Well I hadn't travelled all that way to be pipped to the post, so I discarded all sense of road safety and dashed across the road. We quickly located the cache but as neither of us is of above average height we thought we might have to either wait for Daddypig's Assistant to help us, accost a slightly taller shopper, or climb on each other's shoulders. Luckily a gust of wind picked merlot up and she could reach the cache. The cache was signed and replaced, and a good gossip was had before the Community Patrol came back to check on us.
