Lovely day here today we looked at the spot so many times messaged a friend we were looking at the correct area tftc
Over doing the KIWI trail, so a good to grabe this arrived to see another cacher logging this. Great waterfront Walk znd interesting scene. Thanks for the hint, hint.
Third time lucky here for me today Youll see from previous logs Ive had no luck with this one. But a PAF assured me I had been searching in the right area, so next time I knew exactly where to go. Today is my birthday and what better present than to knock this one off its dnf perch, and get another multi-dnf down the road at Ahuriri as well. Go me! I was travelling back from teaching in Gizzy, and broke the trip up by staying in Napier. Started my birthday with breakfast from the Napier Farmers Market, then got on my bike to grab these couple caches. There was a guy here around the other side of the GZ, and I knew exactly where to find it, so I grabbed and signed it, remounted my bike as he came around the front. We chatted a bit and confirmed we were both cachers - I encouraged him to keep searching, he was close! Giving this a fave as the sense of accomplishment of finding this damn one at last was pretty awesome. And its my birthday so thats a good reason too Pic reminded me of vultures watching me slowly die if I dont find it this time around again Mihi ki a koe, mrBmrsP, mo te keteroki #572

Day 34 of our Enzed adventures with Robmc and today travelled from wellington to Napier and after settling in we went for a look about.A nice hide very tricky. A stinker in factThanks for contributing to an amazing holiday
Day thirty four of our epic New Zealand Adventure with The Morris.Traveling between Wellington and Napier, a few AdLab stages and a few caches when we arrived, but mostly driving.Took a little while to locate this cache.Met a couple of American interested pre-cachers (?).A nice hide.Watched a container ship come into dock. Thanks, Robmc.
Having driven over from Taupo in our motorhome we stopped here along the shoreline for lunch. Afterwards, I set out in search of this hide. I was pretty annoyed with myself as I missed the cache on my first sweep having spotted what I thought would be an ideal hiding place and went on to explore further afield. Finally after finding nothing I returned to re-search my original idea and sure enough there was the cache. Should have gone to Specsavers. FP added for fun of the search and the crafty hide. DNF avenged brought the whole crew along this time, M had an idea based off another cache found a few months ago, and within seconds J had the cache in hand. Clever wee hide. TFTC
Came back for round two after spending a night travelling back from Gizzy. Still had a damn good search but nada. I *am* hopeful for next time when Im up here tho!
Visiting Napier for work (with rattll along for the ride). This cache is new since last I was here, but a tough one to find, given the recent DNFs. Rattll and I spent some time searching around GZ before I spotted something that wasn't supposed to be there. The container was located shortly after that. All good inside. Thanks for this one! Joint 2TF.
Matagouri has work to do in the Napier area, so I've tagged along for a bit of caching (not that I have too many left to find here). We arrived just after 5pm so figured we'd make the most of the daylight and have a crack at this one straight away.It took a couple of quick 'sweeps' of the area, but matagouri was onto it fairly quickly. A sneaky hide indeed! Thanks for setting this up
I looked everywhere. Even had a book to read so I could hang around the area longer to extend my looking time. Even with some nudging from previous finder, still no luck. Will be back again.
Well, after the recent activity headed over to the GZ from Havelock North with teamrosenz and mrlgrose to have another look. Absolutely blowing a howlin' gale at GZ, getting covered in seaspray, so didn't spend too long there before calling it a day, no luck again, but after Huhugrubs good work, feeling quite happy for the CO that someone has managed to find it! Have done a couple of old Skindo trails through Central H.B. recently, and while he takes you to some interesting places you my not usually spend much time in, and claim a considerable number of caches at the same time, this Harding Rd cache really smokes my tyres with the fact it is so damn challenging. Thanks again B&P for placing a cache in this game.
Saw this as a ftf cache with many dnfs. Coming back from Gizzy thru to Palmy and thought (foolishly) that I could get my first FTF. Then I saw the huhus beat me to it (nice job!!) so I thought maybe I could get my first STF. But alas I was here about 30mins searching everything I could and nada Waiting on huhus full log to see if it has any clues for next time Im up this way Glad Im not the only dnf tho. Small consolation haha.
**S 39 28.695 E 176 54.345**#15,347. {FTF} at 09:42. After our DNF yesterday, we confirmed with the cache owner that no tool was required for this cache. That helped us eliminate a number of potentially elaborate possibilities that we had overthought. So we returned to park on Hardinge Road in Ahuriri, Napier for another walk and grab. Well, with a title like this, we would not expect the find to be easy. But at least, the GZ was again all quiet at the time of our visit to allow us another detailed search. This time, we focused on the areas where we did not examine too closely yesterday. After a couple of minutes, we were happy to spot something this time that led us to the sneaky hide. The cache was in excellent condition, all nice inside. Oddly, the logbook was already a bit damp, but the waterproof paper was doing a fine job. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log.We took an averaged GPS reading and the coordinates were very close just 1 metre away. Favorite point added for the challenging and sneaky hide.*Thanks for the geocache placement, and for bringing us to this site, and **.T h a n k s. .f o r. .t h e. .c a c h e.**.M a u r u u r u. .k o e. .n u i. .a t u. .h o k i. .t e. .k e t e r o k i.*---### LET US HAVE A BLOCK PARTY!!! ###On **May 3rd, 2025**, we will be celebrating 25 years of geocaching in **Rotorua, New Zealand** with a special **Block Party** event. Searched quite extensively and after examining a few possibilities closely, we still did not find the cache.
Checked on this cache today.Still there hanging out for someone to be first to find.
After a number of DNFs, we checked on this and is still where it should be Will update the hint further withMetal - But the cache is not magnetic and is larger than a nano.
Another day, another 40 odd minutes of looking, this is starting to make my blood boil!
Been wanting to get over here for the last week to try and get this cache, but left it due to the weather. Came over this morning convinced of a FTF. Well B&P, you're good! 40mins later with 3 sets of eyes, we're slinking on home with our tail between our legs! Will come come back again with a fresh focus.
Wanting to find this one for a while. Came out with eimajesordaman and mrlgrose. Searched for about 40 minutes with no luck.
Had tried to get out for the last week but weather didn't allow. Spent a long time combing the area, sure we checked everywhere but obviously not haha. Great spot for a cache though, with so many places to check. Can't wait to come back and try again, and thanks very much for placing again. Cheers
