Logs
**22,298**Couldn't miss this one, this time around, it stood out like Bison ...., with the updated co-ords! TFTC
Maintenance run today, it would appear this Bison didn't mind the gap and suffered from the inevitable fate. The good news is a new one has appeared near by. (check updated coordinates)
Sixth DNF for this series - eek not a good start. Cache Owners to confirm after checking!
Got these along time ago when they were published we got some FTF. I was car sick most of the day so have put logging these on hold just got reminded by the team that I havent logged these yet. So here are my cut and paste logs
Chasing the Bison Part 4. Daylight savings started today so I was up earlier than normal. My daughter was going out with a friend so it was just me and geopooch doing the hunting today. We managed to get 21 of the elusive bisons today. Would have been more but I forgot to save them offline and ran out of coverage. Doh!! Even managed to find the bisons watering hole and have a walk around lake okaro and lunch at waimangu all before lunchtime. Thanks once again for all the COs hard work. Only a few left now.
Day two of hunting Bison on a sunny but chilly day. Really enjoying the series out and about on the back roads. Thanks for all the work establishing and maintaining the trail for us all to enjoy.Saw a bison herd using their private bridge, but they all stopped to look up at us so we had to retreat to the car. We continued our search when they were gone. Fav point for this one TFTC.
Me and Taybee decided to take a 3 day trip up to Taruanga and Auckland to visit family and do some shopping. The first day was enjoyable with us finding some caches around Taihape before the rain came in. Day 2 was spent around auckland getting a cache or 2 in between the rain spells and then Day 3 was spent heading home collecting 50 of the bisons and other caches around the place. Signed as either TB/NZ or T/NZ. TFTC
**taybee** is caching again with **taybee nz** for the dayQuick find here today All in good order, sign log book as **taybee (** *joint sign* **T/NZ** or **taybee / nz )** TFTC Cache was found at **18/09/2024 @ 11:10:00**
Out on a gray morning with rattll, a final push to complete the Bison series, plus whatever else we can get our hands on! On these back roads, parking can be tricky, even in a little car. Fortunately, many of these caches did have parking reasonably close by, or at least a shoulder on the road. We managed a 100% find rate today, including DNFs from other expeditions, to finish the series off. After a DNF here a few weeks ago, great to come back for this one. Still couldn't find a good parking spot. A quick scan of GZ revealed the cache in a spot that we'd checked the previous time. Signed, and returned as found. Tftc!
Matagouri and I had planned one last attack on the bison roaming the area, with the intention of picking up all of the remaining caches left, including the 'eye' which Matagouri had targeted as his 5000th cache find. The weather forecast wasn't great, but we figured if we got an early enough start, we could potentially finish before the rain set in, which we succeeded in doing with only minutes to spare. Thanks for all of the effort you've put in, in making this great series. This was another one we had dnf'd on a previous visit, as it was AWOL. No problems making the find today.
After Event EyespyBen decided maybe we go down country to find some BisonNext morning up early and away we go pick up KGDThe weather was spot onWe did a group sign KEAMost of them were quick findsSome tricky Awesome hideAs we were in no hurry Stop for lunch & ice creamHad some laughs so all and all it was a great dayThanks
As dedicated driver, nav man and committed u turner spent a lovely day with KGD and ABCDF4down country lookin at the bison series, lotsa good hides, some dnfs, but a neat seriesthanks to the Co for the placements.
On a day trip with ABCDF4 and eyespyben with intention to see how much of a herd of bison we could gather. In the end we spent about 6hrs and had ticked off over 70. All logs were signed KEA (Kaygeedee Eyespyben Abcdf4)Walked past a couple of times before Mrs ABCDF found it.Thank you for the placement
Replaced, please ensure you put it back as found. It should lock on, not just tuck in
Rattll and I were out for another load of Bison caches today. A clear, fine day. We targeted a group of caches that formed a nice loop, not pushing too hard. Most of the caches today were easy finds, a couple of DNFs, though. Quite a few today had difficult parking. Not happy about parking, here, so one eye looking out for traffic coming around the corner. Many potential hiding places at GZ, but couldn't spot the cache in any of them.
After getting a bit of further info about this cache I decided to have another before I leave Rotorua. With my previous DNF I didn't read the extra hint. But I didn't find any thing in the gap.
Saw these come out and big change of plans for Team BOP Big night doing the solves and off the next day to collect the caches. Lots of fun and great to be out with fellow cachers today. Thanks from r setting this mission up much appreciated. TFTC
On a mish with the team. (Team BoP) Bern a long time since our last trip together. A great day for it and a fab way to celebrate Matariki. A quick change of plans last night after this series was published. What a team effort!!
TeamBOP planned a long overdue mission to Waikato, but plans suddenly changed overnight when this series was published. Thanks to one member who decided sleep can wait, we had the corrected coords of the complete series ready to go in the morning, so we hit the road early to try grab as many FTF's as we could. Not early enough it seems, as we had somehow been beaten to most caches even before the frost had settled on the ground. Quick find here in the obvious place. Tftc
With / logged as Team BoPI was one date short of completing the Trad a Day / 365 Challenge (GCA73Q3). The 28th of June was my last gap on the calendar, and as luck would have it, fell on Matariki Friday. I had been planning a different mission with the Team, but this Bison Trail dropped conveniently overnight. Plans changed rapidly as we went into puzzling mode - One of our group worked like a machine and churned out solve after solve through the night... Our successes today are largely due to his efforts! It took a couple of sweeps to find the gap. Thanks KDS. TFTP and TFTC.
