**22,306**Well, this is the last of the replaced bisons for us and with that we can sign the series off as completed. We would have thought that this bison was hiding more in a Y than in a T but... each to their own! LOL Thanks for a fun GeoArt even if it did take two goes to get it completed!! Teach us for not locating it sooner! Just time for one more Dad Joke: Why dont buffaloes make good secret agents? Because they always leave a "trail"!TFTC
Chasing the bison Part 5.After a hearty meal my daughter and I decided to go out and avenge the DNFs from the bison. We only had three to get so shouldn't have taken too long. How wrong I was. One of them we searched for ages only to go back to the car for a sulk while my daughter searches just a bit wider and bingo she comes running back to the car saying she found it. Hooray. I think I had tried 5 x to get that one. The other finds were easy thanks to the CO replacing missing caches. Yay we have now officially finished the . Big thanks to the COs for their hard work in arranging and placing this mammoth beast. Cheers
Out and about to locatete the last of the bison that were MIA last visit. Located this visit TFTC.
I was heading down to Rotorua to participate in an epic half-marathon trail race up two and a half mountains in the Whakarewarewa Forest. I decided to make a long weekend out of the trip and spend some time geocaching while I was on holiday. I left Auckland early to get through the city before the Friday morning rush hour traffic started to build up. However, I forgot that SH1 between Kinleith and Tokoroa was closed due to roadworks, so I ended up with a big detour through Rotorua and backtracking to start my second Bison hunt.No clue about the hint but managed to find the cache.
Nineth DNF for this series - eek not a good start. Cache Owners to confirm after checking!
Got these along time ago when they were published we got some FTF. I was car sick most of the day so have put logging these on hold just got reminded by the team that I havent logged these yet. So here are my cut and paste logs
Chasing the Bison Part 2. After a busy morning the geopooch and I headed out to see if we could catch a few more Bison. It was a thundery afternoon with a few downpours, hailstones and sunshine in between. We headed out to do the tail end of the bison and managed to scoop up another 20 or so. Sadly a couple of DNFs as well. The roads varied from smooth state highways to gravel back roads with some beautiful vistas thrown in to satisfy my nature loving self. Really enjoying this series and am now about half way. Many thanks to the COs for all their hard work. CheersDidn't find this one. Thought I was in the right place but no luck today
On a day trip with ABCDF4 and eyespyben with intention to see how much of a herd of bison we could gather. In the end we spent about 6hrs and had ticked off over 70. All logs were signed KEA (Kaygeedee Eyespyben ABCDF4)No luck here. Sure we were in the right place but saw nothing. The farmer came along as we were looking and after he explained about finding another he helped look. He did say that a contract grazer had cattle in this paddock and may have seen it. Or we may have not looked properly. He carried on up the fenceline and checked another hint item for us.Thank you for the placement
Another DNF here. There was no white plastic post as per the hint. There was a grey culvert marker post but didn't find the cache attached or on the ground,
It was a beautiful, sunny winter's day, so matagouri and I headed to Rotorua to launch a second attack on the beastial bison roaming the area. This time we opted for a more discreet mode of transport, leaving the campervan behind, and taking the micro mobile, that can park in the smallest of gaps.Apart from the odd muggle issue, there weren't too many issue's making the finds. Thanks for setting up this awesome series. We had to drive past and then go back because of muggles. Not sure about the clue, but easily found anyway.
Heading away with tmann421 for a couple of days.Spent two half days up here collecting the Bison Series.Found many different hides and traveled roads varying from seal to gravel to windy to narrow.Enjoyed the seriesSigned log tm/ww NZTFTC
Found on a short trip away with woolwood9.Our first day on the ***Bison Trail*** - we started around 4-00pm and stopped for the night just before 10-00pm.No trouble here, got the find then onto the next one. Most quick easy finds, but certainly a few very tricky hides and some took a lot of looking. SL *tm/ww NZ**Thanks for the fun puzzle cache series!*
A sunny winter Saturday, an opportunity for rattll and I to make a day-trip from Hamilton in the geomobile, rather than bring the much larger campervan to stay overnight. This time we came down SH1 to Atiamuri, and approached the area from the west. Most of the caches were quickly found, one or two took a bit longer. Parking was much easier in the small geomobile. Thanks for putting out this series.Locals working nearby, so had to find somewhere else to park. By the time we came back, they'd gone, so we made a comfortable find. Hint a little off. Tftc!
With / logged as Team BoPI was one date short of completing the Trad a Day / 365 Challenge (GCA73Q3). The 28th of June was my last gap on the calendar, and as luck would have it, fell on Matariki Friday. I had been planning a different mission with the Team, but this Bison Trail dropped conveniently overnight. Plans changed rapidly as we went into puzzling mode - One of our group worked like a machine and churned out solve after solve through the night... Our successes today are largely due to his efforts!Theres no mistaking these hint objects - A quick find! Thanks KDS. TFTP and TFTC.
TeamBOP planned a long overdue mission to Waikato, but plans suddenly changed overnight when this series was published. Thanks to one member who decided sleep can wait, we had the corrected coords of the complete series ready to go in the morning, so we hit the road early to try grab as many FTF's as we could.Tftc
Saw these come out and big change of plans for Team BOP Big night doing the solves and off the next day to collect the caches. Lots of fun and great to be out with fellow cachers today. Thanks from r setting this mission up much appreciated. TFTC
On a mish with the team. (Team BoP) Bern a long time since our last trip together. A great day for it and a fab way to celebrate Matariki. A quick change of plans last night after this series was published. What a team effort!!
