Logs

After last nights thunderstorm, the weather forecast looked good today so I decided to head out for a hike around Cascades Kauri Park, doing a clockwise loop from the carpark, an area that I've always enjoying walking. Dropped down to the side and cache was in reach, so pulled it out to sign the log and replace before the next lot of muggles come along. TFTC!

The rest of the team had already signed the log by the time I sauntered up. I was too busy stuffing my face with Love Hearts courtesy of rustynz (as a celebration of finally submitting my virtual). Almost at the end of an amazing day out.

Found it with a great company of flossieteacake , Jag50 ,lumin298 and rustynz on a beautiful Wednesday. As we decided to go on a week day we had a whole loop pretty much for ourselves.Beautiful area and many thanks for placing several hides to get an extra reason to visit this magnificent spot in Waitakeres which is Cascades Kauri Regional Park. Logbook signed asJAVASS.TFTC

So many big Kauri trees, I can see why the track has been closed for so long, possibly debating if the track should re-open, and what engineering solutions are required to keep everyone safe?We are bouncing downhill, and I certain others in our group have the stats of how long (hours/min), and how far walked (kms). And whilst it will be nice to sit down at the end, it feels like it is ending to soon too Big Grin Keep us wanting more!Another fun find by the group, thanks again KBclannz for this series of hides, to save space on the log, a team name was used: JAVASS (letter each our real world initials - (rustynz, jag50, tramyard, flossieteacake and lumin298)

Caching the Cascade Kauri loop (clockwise) as part of a group of 5 cachers today, signing all the logs as JAVASS (an acronym of our first initials). This was the 16th cache we found today.Picked the wrong side of the boardwalk to start searching, of course... corrected for that and searched the other side and there it was, all in good shape SmileLots of beautiful tall kauri here and nice new boardwalk to walk on as well SmileThanks for the cache Smile(#2393)

MrsJAG joined up with fellow geomates Tramyard, Rusty,Lumin and Flossieteacake on a wonderful Wednesday to find the caches in the Cascades. We signed the logs as JAVASS - made up from our real names! The youngest team member did the Ho ours in finding this cache. Initially she went the wrong side but soon had her hands on this well camouflaged cache. Thanks for the cache

A solo excursion for Mr Coblet. This part of the trail was my favourite and I really enjoyed the walk to GZ along the boardwalk through the Kauri.Once at GZ it was a nice quick find but having long arms helped.Only one more cache to find on the loop today.TFTC.

I am blown away by all the amazing kauri here!Had no idea there would be so many! What a brilliant place to come to for that alone....And those brilliant new boardwalks that go on for ever....Gorby and Jan have sore knees from doing the many stairs...I think I will feel it in my calves...Jan and I each took a side, and I found it on this occasion .Favourite Point ..Oh, and thanks to Gorby for taking all the photos! With his fancy new phone...but that's another story!
