#22572 @1900After spending the morning orienteering east of Bungendore. and the afternoon caching, it was a pleasure to attend this event for a light meal and some social time with fellow cachers. But this wasn't the end of the caching for the day. It was a lot of fun to head out as a group to do the new night cache on Bruce Ridge. A great way to celebrate your birthday. Thanks for the event.

I have known Toy Hunters for a very long time! I cant pinpoint when we officially met, however my first 6 events that I attended, he was also in attendance! In fact my FIRST ever event, he signed the log straight after me - pic attached! Toy Hunters is also one of my top 5 favourite cache hiders! The thought and creativity he puts into each and every cache he hides is something I look up too. He also leans into some very entertaining themes that are much easier to relate too as a younger geocacher! Im always excited to see what hes cooked up next!It was an honour to celebrate your quarter century birthday tonight, with your excellent organisation we had a whole little section of the club to ourselves with a long table booked out, nicely done! The schnitzel has shrunk in size since a few weeks ago, but was still delicious! Hasnt taken me that long to eat a schnitzel for a while too, thats how you know the company and conversations were good! Well done to baristayan for entertaining us all with another statistics heads or tails showdown! Always great fun and surprising to learn some of the answers are not what you expect. The cake was fantastic, I dont think Ive ever seen so many geocachers say yes to a cake at an event before, it was just so yummy! Even those who werent a fan of the artwork took a slice

Scott! I havent known you for very long, almost 5 months now, but within those 5 months youve had a huge impact on my Geocaching experiences. Firstly, Ive got to acknowledge how we met. I sat next to you at a wedding at the Canberra Mega event. I didnt know anyone except buckoraider and baristayan, so I was terrified, but in true Scott fashion you were so kind to me, included me in everything and made me feel so comfortable in such a scary environment. Next we met at a tree while buckoraider and Turtle284 climbed that tree. Baristayan, you and I sat nearby bickering about AFL and sharing our passion for the game, anndddd the rest is history. There are many things I look up to you for. You have a very high moral compass, you've kept me in line with Geocaching and life morals which I'm very grateful for. You're one of the most encouraging and caring people I've ever met, and you're always able to understand and respect everyone's boundaries, this is something I admire most about you. One of my favourite memories is when I acquired a ladder and we met up a few times to tackle some ladder caches together, and Im so glad we did. I'll never forget some memories from those adventures, particularly how to provide a knee as a step up. Another of my favourite moments is the let him cook meme. I hope this will be a permanent inside joke because its one of my absolute favs. I can say so much more but Ill leave it at that for now. Thank you Toy Hunters for being you (and for the event), HAPPY 25TH BIRTHDAY!!! Now onto the shenanigans ??
Today fitzy_1965 and I headed into Canberra to attend Mr Hunters Birthday celebration. To fill in some time beforehand, we did a bit of caching.With the time upon us, we headed over to the club. Plenty of time to relax and decide what to have for dinner. A great event was had!Happy Birthday Mr Hunters!
Happy 25th Mr Hunters!!! How it took me almost a month to write a sentence I'm not quite sure, but better late than never right?The chicken nuggets were great here, and the cake was EPIC!Time for the full century now!

Happy Birthday!!! ?? What a lovely way to celebrate such a milestone. So you are half my age, but you are probably twice as smart and three times sweeter than me. There was a great turn out and there was everything a birthday party needed - good company, good food, good drinks, speeches from near and far, a game, an FTF, prizes and the best cake ever!!! In an effort to avoid squareness, EthisEthat and I headed southside to celebrate the life of the wonderful Mr Hunters.I wasn't sure if I should've packed the black tie and navigated to building number 75 around the back seeing as though it regarded the old man, but we ended up in a familiar venue instead with plenty of friendly faces.Some lovely speeches, warm food, and a very delicious cake that sported a fitting decoration all contributed to an excellent start to a hectic night of shenanigans (or "goshdarn skullduggery" as Hunters is commonly known to call it).Despite only having lived in the World of Hunters for a short period, it's immediately clear to see the profound impact the great man has had on the local community through the joy and passion he brings to every interaction, reflected in the many stories shared this evening.May 25 years be only the beginning of plenty more adventures.Cheers, Mr Hunters! 
Okay, Mr Hunters is now in a happy mood for writing logs, the Dogs have guaranteed themselves a finals spot (unlike certain teams) and Mr Hunters can sniff September! A sincere thank you to each and every person who attended my dinner. All up, 26 people including myself, a huge turnout! Lots of great conversations to be had and some nice meals here. I was running around a lot trying to keep things organised and was quite hyperactive, and ended up eating my (classic) Angus Rump steak reasonably cold, but thankfully had the support of Scaphoid to remind me to eat and fill my stomach whilst 3 beers deep (and thanks Scaphoid for being my impromptu deso as well). And, thank you to all who shouted me a drink! And, thank you to everyone who gave me geocaching gifts, it was very generous of you and such an unexpected surprise! Speaking of surprises, huge thanks to baristayan (our FTFer too) for coming up with a great Hunters-themed trivia game, Thank you for the fun surprise! Your Hunters-sponsored log-books for me and BeeSprout0 (the winner of baristayan's game) were really touching. Another surprise was fitzy's speech on behalf of Sol de lune, that was really special. Big thanks for the night go to Loci612 and Scaphoid. Not only did they assist with distributing slices of came whilst I ate dinner, they organised and put together an incredible night cache experience between my event and Scaphoid's event. My comments on that cache are reserved for that cache's log!Thank you for making the weekend of my 25th birthday a weekend to remember, nothing better than to go geocaching for your birthday! I hope everyone enjoyed their night of caching!

Found with minniek during a mini excursion around Canberra prior to attending Mr Hunters' Quarter Century event.A leisurely morning saw us lounge around home for a while before heading into Canberra early afternoon. After we cherry picked a number of caches, we headed on over to the club for the event (I joined as I'm sure there will be more events to be held here). Well - what a fab event. The occasion of course was a special one, as Toy Hunters and I go way back with some special Geocaching memories along with Sol de Lune. The food and drink delicious, the company as always fantastic. I was wondering what could top this - and then the new LBH Night Owls was published ! Tonight's shenanigans between events explained ! It was then a dash off to get to the step off place on time.Thanks Toy Hunters !! A great event and the start of a memorable nights caching !
What a great way to start a brilliant seven hours of wonderful caching experiences. It is easy to understand why so many people turned out to help Toy Hunters celebrate this special birthday. He is such an unassuming, polite, young gentleman. Thanks for giving us such a good reason to come together Scott. Cache # 11430 on 24 Aug 2024So happy to make Toyhunters quarter of a century geocaching celebration event! I have known Mr Hunter since my first days of geocaching and a more lovely chap I have yet to meet! It was a fitting event with kind words, good food, and a slightly dodgy birthday cake (only the decoration, the cake itself was great). It was so good, I was persuaded to join in the post-event adventure with a bunch of other equally lovely (albeit slightly crazy) cachers! Thank you Toy Hunters for hosting this special birthday event and the fun! I hope the rest of your birthday shenanigans are just as much fun!

**Important Announcement**Night Owls will gather this Saturday! Don't forget that after my event is a second event, 'Calling All Night Owls' (GCATRAQ), hosted by Scaphoid, from 1-2am at Kita in Narrabundah. At 9pm there will be a very special announcement of a fun activity to keep you busy before the Kita event! It is important to post a **Will Attend** on either of the 2 events for further announcements about this! After the announcement, we will meet at 9:30pm - location TBA (within 10km of the event coordinates).Make sure you are wearing caching clothes (and have torches). If you need time to change out of your dinner clothes into caching clothes, please plan accordingly. Afterwards we will gather at Kita in Narrabundah enjoying the good company and some hot beverages (Scaphoid encourages people to bring their own keep cups to assist in the distribution of hot beverages).
OMG - I cant believe that Mr Hunters is 25 years old! It was only . 10 years ago (gulp) I first met him as an enthusiastic kid caching his way to adulthood! Very happy to join in the celebrations! Bobl27 will likely also join. We will get there a bit earlier for a quick bite to eat!
