Found at 8:40 AM GAFF5/1. This puzzle was way too difficult to work out solo and some assistance from an industry related person was called upon and then the fun began to actually work out the co-ords!At GZ I was amazed at the size of the "container" and thankful that it wasn't way up there which would make it really difficult with the type of gear that I use. Got it down and managed to scan the NFC tag which now creates another drama! Thanks Portstevo.Feedback: FP awarded for the intricacy and difficulty.
Definitely not a D5 in my opinion. More like a D7. After lots of discussions with various sources regarding the complexity of this puzzle including some pilot expertise, I was very pleased when I received a call from Di Morgan who confirmed they had a positive interaction from Certitude. So the scene was set and plans locked in to visit GZ. We were extremely surprised to see the awesome cache container which was very fitting for the location and earns a favourite point from me. We were also relieved to find a tree fishing cache at an easily achievable height. Im still not sure I fully understand the puzzle, but I am committed to further study as Im always keen to learn. Another great day for caching. TFTC Portstevo
So much involved trying to work out the final for this cache.Had a good look at the Port Macquarie runway to help with the puzzle, then with a little help from a friend the final location was revealed.Sent Wollaston a message & he agreed to meet us at GZ. We were all surprised with the very classy cache container. We all had NFS on our phones so downloaded our message the to return home to deceipher it.Worthy of a FP given, this cache is certainly worthy of it's D5 rating. Thanks Portstevo , no to work on our new message
I must admit, this find has required quite some teamwork to find, even involving an airline pilot to help solve not only the maths, but some background knowledge about runway 21. I just hope the UFO doesn't get found out too soon and gets a few logs first Thanks Portstevo, an epic cache, and cheers from Browngang
Woke up this morning to see a new cache published, I was definitely wide awake as soon as I saw the D5 rating. After reading through the page a couple of times, I knew exactly what I needed to do, it was just a matter of finding and/or calculating the correct figures. It took a few attempts while working through the mess of digits I had noted down, but eventually got the green light. The real treat though came at the final. Had taken note of the extra info in the checker so brought some extra bits and bobs just in case. Wow! Was definitely not expecting that! Very very cool and something we have never seen used for a cache before. Our TOTT was more than up to the task at end, with no extra parts needed for a safe and sturdy retrieval. As was expected, a lovely blank logbook inside, nice to finally get another *FTF* as it has been a while (almost three months) since our last one. Remembered to scan the NFC tag and saved the info to investigate on a bigger screen, it looks a little evil at first glance Thanks for the cache, giving a FP for the impressive cache housing and a puzzle I very much enjoyed working through
Portstevo and his interesting caches! I had no idea where he'd hidden this one despite watching him modify the "container" looking forward to part 2 going live!!
