Logs
#15365 14:45A few hours of geocaching with Martin Cousins around SOP before attending the GeoBanQuest at the Silverwater hotel.A fun find. I have been here before, but that was before a cache was hidden on this structure. It will be interested to see 500 geocachers flocking into this climbing tower when the block party is on A great hide! TFTC ozbuckeye!
Eyes this one, ever since being published. We were motivated to cache around Olympic Park due to a nearby event in which I was lucky enough to clear out everything South of the water. We struggled until noticing something odd but it could belong up here too, thanks ozbuckeye, FP
What a brilliant cache. Absolutely loved this, was so much fun getting to the top and not too busy today. Another fave from me for sure. Tftc
Wow, that was amazing. Really enjoyed this one. So much fun. Took some time but worth it. Fav point from us TFTC
Its been a loooong time since Ive been up here, not since my young giant was still small. Before doing some volunteering at the Murama Healing Space, I had enough time to make the find without muggle disturbance (too early and too grey). I enjoyed the view too, as I dont want to come up here too often.
We had heard about the difficulty in getting to this cache. Having some time up our sleeve due to another commitment, we decided to target this cache. There seemed to be a couple of parties going on in the playground, but the tree house was not being used. We quickly ascended and after a short search found the sneakily hidden cache. Nice one OZB. Gets a FP from us. Thanks. Love that tunnel too...
Out with the Purple one and this was on the list now that it was legally open again as we dont want cachers to put the game into disrupt. We were early enough to avoid the mini muggles and PPE went one way and I the other. Having seen this style before I declared it was found and we just needed to make sure no fat thumbs to extract. Signing done but no coffee. TFTCA fav pt.
An early morning raid in Silverwater with Bella@Waggy before the tin lids arrived. In fact we were too early and had to wait for the warden in his little truck to come around. Bit of a shame that there is no cafe open at the moment. Made a quick find at the pinnacle of this structure.SL TFTC
Loved it. Very cool. Thought I might drop it, but all good. Not a muggle about. Finally spotted it. Hmm what's this ...... love the camo. Very familiar with one of these. Have another FP for your creativity. Love your work.
I havent been here in aaaggggeeessss Amazing how easy things are when you dont have children hanging off or moving around you. True of life and true of caching. GZ deserted today at 2pm so making the climb without interruption was very pleasant, as was the change in atmosphere at the top. Loved the construction of this hide, very nice and fitting of the space. Enjoyed the view before descending and off to school pick up and burger making for dinner. Im cached out.
OCW EverestHigh, Brewmaker, and Gavingo4. Enjoyed climbing this structure when the park wasn't busy. Don't know that I would call it a treehouse, though there was a good view of the trees nearby and surrounding area, not to mention a well hidden cache at the top. Worth an FP. TFTC ozbuckeye
I Ascended when it was allowed! Quickly found the object that doesn't belong. Needed to borrow a TOTT from a Tradie/Maintenance worker nearby. I think I enjoyed playing on this part of the playground, especially as there was no-one else on or in it at the time (except for Brewmaker, MaxAdventurer and Gavingo4 with whom I was out caching). An FP from me. TFTC ozbuckeye
OCW Brewmaker, EverestHigh and MaxAdventurer. This was the second time I've been here, the first time a few days ago, there were quite literally hundreds of kids running around Blaxland Riverside Park, so there was absolutely no way I would get anywhere near the treehouse without looking suspicious. on the note of treehouses, It certainly is interesting what qualifies as a tree house these days. I noticed some graffiti as I was entering, something about "rizz", the Gen Alpha Brain rot is somewhat concerning as someone who is currently studying to become a teacher. FP Awarded.
Finally, a climb even I can do easily enough. We got to the top and soon found what we needed. But! It seems to have been over-tightened. Fortunately, there were some workers below who had a TOTT we could borrow. Easily opened, then signed and replaced.Luckily, we picked a day and time when there were no kiddies around. I could pretend to be a kiddie and not look weird. TFTC PS: Take care when closing the lid. Not too tight!
Husband found this one. Was not going to leave until he found it great cache, thanks to the creative person/persons who hid all these around the park and the armoury. Happy caching
Happy that it is back open. Ascended today again with the CO and found the crazy cool container at the top. Amazing work us. Fantastic , well done, great move Liam. TFTC FP
Apparently its shut for maintenance due to vandals and they said would be a number of weeks before fixed.
Shut due to maintenance?? Ahhh well Ill disable in the meantime until I receive word that its open.Unaware of morning opening time. Presume to be sunrise but I cant confirm online.
Joint [FTF] @ 1045 with GeoLorikeet. Before I start my log, I would like to add a note to future finders to say that we wont be giving away any hints on this one to keep it a true Difficulty 5 experience for future finders. As GeoLorikeet says, there is no such thing as free lunch so please dont ask us for hints. It is also suggested that future finders dont give hints too to keep this experience for the Block Party next year. Now on to my log.I saw this one published yesterday and decided to save it for today. However, after driving for at least an hour, to my dismay, it was closed. I was not just going to leave logging a DNF so I decided to monkey around and climb to the top. Once at the top, I took a moment to admire the view before searching for the cache. I wont mention much about the cache in my log to avoid spoilers. I also took a photo of the log just in case. I wont include that photo to avoid spoilers. This cache is one of the best caches that I have seen in a while. Its a break from all those caches with no excitement about them. I like the idea of climbing to the top in The Treehouse and the views are just spectacular from the top so Im giving it a favourite point and I hope it gets many more at the Block Party next year. Overall, a nice cache with a nice D/T rating and our first FTF on a Difficulty 5. TFTC ozbuckeye
Just for clarity: It is in fact still closed for maintenance for some time. GMAU accessed it by uhhh monkeying around. I would prefer if we wait till it reopens as if it is seen that people are climbing on it when its closed I may be forced to remove the cache. Congrats to GMAU and GeoLorikeet for FTF
