A plan was made with Net61 to find the caches along the HRT trail. We have ridden the trail before, but today we were doing it with 4 wheels (car) rather than 2 (bike). The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. A quick find here of a familiar San Fran cache. We sat down in this lovely shady spot to take a rest and listen to the birdsong, before heading to a cafe in Matamata. TFTC
Yes...a nice easy find for us here .What a lot of seats on this stretch of road .I wonder why?
I had a plan to come down from Auckland with supernannny to do the HRT trail from Te Aroha to Matamata. But she had offered to drive us everywhere in her hybrid car which is soo cheap to run and which was really nice of her. It was pouring with rain when she arrived to pick me up at 7am, did some caches along the way apart from the power trail, visited a friend in Hamilton for a much needed coffee, then home about 10pm. Supernannny found this one, just where I thought I'd looked, quite subtle it was I thought.
Had been down in Opotiki recommissioning equipment. The line started up well with minimal issues. With everything going well I could head back to Auckland. Of course had to make a few stops on the way!I also wanted to complete this leg of the HRT series which I had started on my way down to Opotiki. There were a few caches before that but on the same road so it seemed rude not to attempt these as well.THIS TIME I know what I was looking for!TFTC
We were enjoying our walk along the trail and were pleased to have nice weather and peace and quiet as the road wasn't very busy. Although as we headed to GZ we became more and more aware of what we can only describe as a "Cow-cough-or-knee" which is similar to a cacophony but much more intriguing. The source of the bovine unrest was concealed by the hedge but whatever was going on it was causing the cows much angst. Maybe they were having a beef, maybe the farmer had told them it was pasture bedtime or maybe they were just moo-dy but whatever it was it was udder chaos and quite a Moo-ha-ha.But we had to let it go in one ear and out the udder as we had a cache to find and we were pleased to do so quickly so we could moo-ve on. We hope someone has made a noise complaint to the council to restore silence to the dairy air.TFTC
On a mish with the NZ Flossy. A great day for it A nice trail to get our heads back in the game before heading to Dunedin. Many thanks.
Kiwi Does Stuff and ourselves made our way over to Matamata to complete some caches in the area. All were in good condition, TFTC!
And the hedge was in full flower today! Great to be out on our bikes today on this sunny Sunday, adding smileys to our map. Cache found as described in the clue and is all good. TFTC
On the way home after a day in Te Aroha taking a slightly different route picking up a few caches. Love this track and good to see it being used by walkers, runners and bikers and of course cachers TFTC
Out & about while camping at Horahora for the weekend. Flower hedge was in full bloom TFTC.
Out caching with my brother Tbird53 in Matamata and some of the HRT nearby today. Interesting - I hadn't learnt until today what a SanFran was - good to know! TFTC
One of ten caches picked up when hitting the Matamata area including part of the local rail trail ride with pinnochio59 today. We used the car for the first few, then jumped on the bikes after lunch to collect a few more along the trail. Up until a week ago I didnt know what a San Fran was! Useful to know when looking for the likes of this one. It was a reasonably quick find. #7730. TFTC.
On a mission with KGD around the rural Waikato. The weather was kind. A quick find tftc
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) The plan was to run a lap of central Waikato and finish up at the 18@18 event tonight. Our plans blew out somewhat when a decent amount of new hides dropped around Matamata the night beforeThe flowery hedge caught my attention first. It was so pretty If youre going to San Francisco. Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair Gap parked strategically as always, for a quick sign and dash. Thanks G-2. TFTC.
**22,014**Thankfully a quick find here as the rain has decided to come back with vengeance. TFTC

Dismissed it because of the weather but when another 4 popped up the decision was made to go for the FTF. Parked my car in Gordonton and off we went.It was nearing dark when we arrived but just enough light to spot this one. Blank log and Another joint {FTF}. Thank you for the placement.
