A bit of excitement en route to this cache from #5 - saw a couple of cyclists through the trees and heard a train go past. The forest is too dense to see anything, even if we were closer to the railway line.We overshot GZ again, then I misread the hint (didn't have my glasses on ) and didn't spot the "0" before the "m" so initially was looking too close to the track!Once the GPSr settled, and StreetWalkerNZ read the hint (with glasses), we got ourselves to the right place and found the cache. TFTC.
#24974. We overshot a couple in the series (no doubt due to the tree cover). Took a bit of toing and froing to find the right hint object. Another nice hide. TFTC.
After a check to how the weather would be, it was off on a 3 day trip to the West Coast, weather tunred out to be great , and a lot of great caches found-, Many thanks to all the caches placers Bitsprayer
Mrs Biggles and I decided on brunch in Hororata this morning and a bit of a country drive after that to find a few caches. Having done the fairy trail near Methven, I was keen to do this one as well. I wasn't disappointed and found all the (active) caches safe and sound. Would love to bring the grandkids out here for a wander one day. Maybe when they visit at Christmas... Anyway, Thanks for the Fun and TFTC, Biggles.
I'm needing a few more caches for my Bakers Dozen challenge (find 50 cache each month for 13 months), and this seemed like a lovely wee cluster for a Sunday afternoon.GeoHubby (GNARwhal), Miss 11 (UnicornLex) and I headed off searching for fairy doors and caches. We were successful on both counts. A shame #2 is currently disabled, but no bother as it's a great place to come back to again. Thanks for setting these up.
A nice quick find. Thanks for placing your cache. Ms_KR and I headed out west for lunch and a few caches. McHughs is a nice place for a walk!Occassionally signed MK+KR on cache logs, and apologies for the generic logs. Thanks to all CO's for publishing and maintaining their caches.
Should have brought a book to identify the conifers. Some great specimens of Douglas Fir. Thank you LuckySteaks
Came out for an early morning wander to find the 3 new publications in the Fairy Forest....after making their finds i continued my anticlockwise loop to find the others......anothee quick find here. Thanks.
Another find #4 the last in the series. Had a thought that there was plenty of c=scope for the fairies to hide a few more caches on the forest walks. TFTC
Enjoyed the walk on a stunning day today. No muggles around when finding the caches
A neat little series and we enjoyed the chase over two days. The addition of all the fairy decorations puts something unique into the walks. Enjoyed the exploration. Thank you.
4 for 4, yay. Those trees are fairly tall! Only 13 km to Sheffied, be rude to not get a pie
After lunching on delightful pies at the Darfield Bakery Mrs BE and I went for a walk in the forest seeking the Fairy Forest #1 - #4 caches. We were both disappointed at the almost total lack of birdsong in the forest. We heard just 1 piwakawaka and 1 other type (which we couldn't see as it was high up in the tree tops). We both wondered why there were so few birds here. Surely the Fairies hadn't scared them away? TFTC.
Came to collect this set, to got for a walk and get a few more points for the Cosmic Challenge. Quickly located in this night little walk, a couple others were out and about this afternoon... looks like I just missed BaldEd too. TFTC LuckySteaks, the cache was found in good order Signed, sealed and returned to GZ. 4 find(s) of 6 today, making this find #4912
FTF Our 4th for the day. Watch out for those mischievous fairies. They tripped me up between 3 and 4. Or maybe I should have watched where I was going and not tripped over a root. We had an enjoyable walk and would like to give all the caches favourites . TFTC
Last one along the trail and it was a quick find. Thank you for setting up this little series. TFTC.
