Find number 14667 at 11:19:43am on Monday the 25 November 2024Had my geoVehicle booked in for a service today so after dropping it off in Bundoora I headed out in a borrowed geoBug on a geocaching advenyure and finished up with three SideTracked caches, a Letterbox, a Wherigo, an Earthcache, a Virtual, a Lab Adventure and two Multi's, all in all a well rounded day!Walked down from the high road, slipped and finished up on my arse on the grassy slope , but I got another smilie!**Thanks for placing this cache Slowdog**---*WOW, so much happening at home in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
19:55I had to go help a friend in Gisborne with his Internet connection... he'd been using the same dongle for the better part of a decade, and now it doesn't work because of the 3G shutdown. With his computer hooked back to the outside world through his phone, I was free to go and play...So of course I found myself SideTracked in Kilmore. Thanks, Slowdog. A neat location. Now to fuel up (petrol is cheaper here than in Melbourne) and head home for the dinner that my better half just sent a photo of.#9375
Found while travelling North. There were three schoolgirls resting in the shade of the station but they took no notice of me. Thank you for the cache.
SideTracked find 338It was drizzling when I arrived here, so I took my umbrella with me. The drizzle soon stopped though, so no need to deploy the umbrella. (As I write this though, some hours later the rain is coming down in a steady downpour, but I'm snug and dry in my motel room now.) It was a quick find, and the log and cache were good, except that the magnet is weak. TFTC Slowdog.
Making our way home northwards after a fun day of caching, but we couldnt resist this last MINI sidetracked one at Kilmore. All closed up and no trains running this late in the day. SL at 4.45pm Quite a different layout to the Mini rail at Wandong. #11,322 TFTC and a chance to explore the area Slowdog - now to get home on the Freeway.
Accurate coordinates and the hint led to a quick find of a well presented cache. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks Slowdog for the cache - would like to come back when the railway is running.
Found with PapaGrouch after staying overnight in the area. This took longer than it should have. Eventually spotted in a place that PapaGrouch had already 'looked.' Should have looked there earlier myself. TFTC
Found by The Empire + HThe drive was smooth as we left the suburbs behind and ventured into the rolling countryside. Our first stop was in Kilmore, a charming town with a rich history, but what really caught our attention was the miniature railway. Though no trains were running when we arrived at the Kilmore Miniature Railway, we still enjoyed walking along the tracks. The quiet setting made for a peaceful stroll, allowing us to appreciate the craftsmanship of the tracks and the surrounding greenery. Thanks for the cache TreeTrio, another SideTracked cache off the list.-M
Last geocache for the day. Said hello to the nearby birds and found the cache quickly. TFTC.
Thanks for the cache, found just now on way home from dinner with lilbassgirl. Would've been a lot easier in daylight. Cache contents in good condition.
This cache was published yesterday and we through that it would be good to find it today A nice little railway and a good hide. Thanks for bringing us here and TFTC.
Parking area added off White Street, although you can walk along the walking track from the other side.
bunadoorian and I came up here today to find a few caches in the area and then to visit our son in Wallan. This was our first one on our list as it was released yesterday. I didn't know about this minature railway - but it looks a lovely area. TFTC and for bringing us here Slowdog.
Second to find at 4:10 pm.Found with +Wife on our way home from Seymour. Thanks for adding another MINI SideTracked cache to the board, Slowdog.
Seems like we are the 5th to arrive here.We are quite surprised to see such a wonderful little track. We knew there was a miniature track but didnt know where it exactly went. It is quite beautiful.Because we came at GZ from where we thought would be best, we felt a little embarrassed as we would never ordinarily bring our car almost onto the rail way line. Perhaps a suggested waypoint for parking is in order or there may be tyre marks in places they should not be and the ambiance of the area will be ruined. We managed to walk around the loop while getting the cache, walking over 2 not so small bridges, one signed no predestians , mind you. Something else we would never, ordinarily do either!!So perhaps a recommended parking location is in order, to avoid this. However, we did have a great experience and thanks for that.TFTC
