With almost no wind this afternoon and a full tide, we decided to inflate the trustee yak once again and tackle a few more of the river caches along the Logan River. With not quite enough time for the entire series in this area today we just targeted five and with a bit of luck, will be able to come back again before we leave Brisbane to complete the other five. We parked the car at one of the suggested boat launching sites, and made our way on pretty much flatwater since there was not too much movement with the tide being almost full. Thanks Patrol14Domsky
I was out today for a paddle to pickup more kayaking caches. I found 10 on water and one tree climb at the boat ramp. I was on a low high tide which was fun. But I did find all the caches. Patrol14 thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for enjoyment of the caching community.
TFTC smile 20707 Out and about on a Sunny day grabing a cache to try and keep a challenge going signed as GS1947 on small logs With geofriends having a great time paddling on the Logan River and Albert River with great friends have a FPThank you Patrol14 for placing this cache for our enjoyment
While many others in the group paddled their way down the river I managed to hitch a ride in the boat. Many thanks to Patrol14 for the boat and to chamad the capable captain. Logs were signed Sinker, despite the fact that no one sank.
WA Big Trip Winter 2024. Day 151 - Logan Day 4. GCLOGAN event day 3. Another day starting with early morning canoeing. Another large group formed up at the start and got ready to go at the turn of the tide. The weather was very different to yesterday, dry, but a but of wind for added entertainment. The Armada got underway once the tide had turned and there was a great time paddling down the river, collecting the ten caches along the way without any issues. Pack up and transport back to the start was next and then there was a bit of free time until the lunch time event and the afternoon activity of way too many multi's. The Midday flash mob was an interesting effort and we got to hear about another caching opportunity next year in Caloundra. Then it was time for the multi's. Our group of Kitty Katch, Smitten Granny and albida33 managed nine, and at times we were caching alongside several different tea,s. It was a great way to meet new people. There are lots more. From here it was back to the caravan for a very wet evening and a light meal inside t escape the downpour of rain. More paddling tomorrow and a few other activities as well. Thanks for the cache Logan Geocaching49281.4 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Geocaching HQ Founders 20 Year Celebration A#505**Albida**
Day Three - GCLOGAN Saturday - Let's Dive InLooking for another full day of caching, I packed my car with my paddle board so I could get an early start for the day.Quick find. Signed as Sinkers.I found your cache, LARKS Sinker No 04 today. This is my 3434 find.Logan Geocaching, TFTC, TFTH & TFTSF
Our second day on the water with the kayaks and it was a much better day weather wise. The safety vessels were provided again, which made us all feel at ease after the local fisherman told us there were lots of bull sharks roaming in the river. It was a nice paddle with the group and logs signed as sinkers.Thank you, Patrol14, for placing this section of good caches and for sharing your spare kayak with me again.
A beautiful day for paddling today with no raincoat required. Great company and fun caches. Who could ask for more? Thank you so much for the fun ??
A nice pleasant morning on the water collecting some more water bound caches. This time there were no wardrobe malfunctions. The weather was fabulous and company fabulous.
Looking forward to all the GCLogan activities and events; during the events and caching activities, I teamed up with Bluewattle, Grannysmith and Snickersallan as we worked our way around the areas collecting the new caches, and even some older ones. We managed to attend most events, a few citos and some meal events. It was great to see the many different faces turning up to the different events. Today I was on the river in the safety boat, heading to caches and checking on people who are out for a paddle. It was a full-time job as no one really stuck together. While some are a little more carefree in their travel times, others where racing ahead and signing the logs for all. Then there were a couple who took the easy way home, lol. It was a fun morning and happy to be part of the team to support cachers and caching, oh the logs were signed under the group name and yes I did get to each cache, lol. One good thing about today was it wasnt pouring down with rain. I think this was a joint *FTF*
Hook Line Sinker 2 was an excellent way to start the third day of GCLOGAN... relaxing (when we weren't trying to outpaddle Shazzar), peaceful and a fun way to catch up with others. The caches were easy finds.. says us who hadn't actually found one but were close enough to see. No 04 was found and signed as Sinkers. TFTC Patrol14 and Logan Geocaching.
Out on the Logan River, day two of kayaking. No rain today, thank goodness, didnt stop Sinkers Team (Team name for today) from getting out in the river. Always wary of Bull sharks and whatever that was lurking below us. Please don't tip and fall out, might look like a dill. Thanks to Patrol14 for use of the safety boat and chamad the driver. Thanks to patrol14 for placing and maintaining.
A wonderful 9 days spent exploring the length and breadth of Logan in the company of great friends and family. I was so fortunate to have GreenGecko1 both drive me around and accompany me in the kayak, allowing me to fully participate in the whole experience. A fabulous selection of caches, some of which had great camouflage, some adorable guardians, some perfectly matched the cache name and some really well hidden. I really enjoyed my time paddling, bushwalking, fishing, chatting and finding new and interesting places to visit. Thanks to everyone who put so much time and effort in to creating and placing all the caches and organising everything behind the scenes. Your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Thanks for this {FTF} Logan Geocaching
Out for a day of caching in Logan with Peppa and Davinells. Thanks for the cache Logan Geocaching. Namaste
What a great day to be a geocacher. It was another great turn out and what a beautiful day it was for a fantastic paddle. Thank you Logan Geocaching for all the fun
Well, another adventure this morning, with a paddle along the Logan River in search of these newly published caches. Hughey didn't send any rain today, but he was sure breathing quite hard .. ??Thanks must go to GreenGecko1 and Muggle55 for supplying an origami kayak so I could join in the adventure. No problem with the kayak seating arrangement today, and it made it so much nicer paddling, with a proper back support.. ????Thx to the organisers for all the work that has gone into setting up these caches and organising the GCLogan events. ??
A second day of kayaking with the GCLogan group. A very different day from yesterday - no rain and quite hot, even with the southerly winds. It was a fun paddle chatting with geo friends but I was very tired near the end - it was a lot longer than yesterday and the wind at the end didnt help. Great to find this and the other new caches along the river. Tftc
Between The Sportsball, chores and work, Davinells, Beardman75 and I had one day to play this weekend With the offer to make a day of it I booked Annual Leave and started to plan my outfitTrying to plan ahead and be clever, we arranged to meet early and perform our own car shuffle Arriving to see an unbridled Logan River someone decided we could just float down the river and then paddle back easyIt was less than an hour of floating like a twig, and we found the rest of this mornings flotilla preparing to join us in the relentless riverI only touched one cache, its the one signed Sinker 27 kayaks and 1 boat Namafu&$ingsteThanks Logan Geocaching ??

Peppas Pleasant Playful Paddle Posse joined the flotilla cruising the Logan River. We may have done double the work, thinking the tide would carry us, but it didnt turn out that way. Still it was a very enjoyable morning on the water. Thanks for the cache Logan GeocachingFind #6413
The weather was kinder than yesterday, with many keen paddlers on the river, just battling a strong headwind...Managed to snatch a seat on Patrol14's tinny again and sign some logs as 'Sinker', a great morning, and towed a few paddlers to give them some respite from the strong headwind, TFTC Patrol14
GCLOGAN TripIt has been great getting to know the local cachers better. I am travelling with GrimRaider to GCLogan and then to western NSW on our first trip with the van. Thanks for hiding this cache Logan Geocaching
Day 2 of the hook, line and sinker series of GC LOGAN. Conditions were definitely more favourable than yesterday, but the cache hides were a little trickier today. Another bonus - I didn't get out of the water soaked through! Thanks to Patrol14 for placing these caches and to Roddy C and Hatzoffff for ferrying us between boat ramps.
What a beautiful morning for a paddle. We owned a 4 man Canadian Canoe over 40 years ago. Havent paddled since and never on my own so I was a little nervous this morning. Thankfully I managed it okay. A hat would have been a good idea!!!!Thanks Patrol14 and RoddyC and Hatzoff for all the work you put into these caches and the whole week of events. Very much appreciated.
Day No. 3 of the GCLOGAN events started with a second paddle on the LOGAN river.Inflatable and origami kayaks as well as colourful kayaks, a stand-up paddle and one tinny were ready to go - this time sunny, but still windy. Thanks for placing the sinker caches, Patrol14
