23 November 2024 09:35 Don't know how we made it here as we had a huge day yesterday with dalerious and I not getting to bed till 0130hrs this morning, and getting up to get ready to drive to Geelong at 0230hrs Friday morning. The heat was oppressive on Friday and it ain't going to be any better today, but our gracious host catered for that and graciously supplied us with cold drinks and light snacks. Everyone that attended gathered quite a load of rubbish in their bags and dalerious found a tyre which I proudly carried down to the collection point. We all stayed around to enjoy each other's company and donuts before heading our separate ways to cache and for us, head home.Thank you wespro for hosting 2 wonderful events.Just to mention, we got very positive feedback from the public walking along the footpath as we were collecting the refuse .
Its great to be able to help clean up one of the main features of Geelongs tourism industry with Geelongs Wespro inspired clean up crew. A great turn out considering the nearby event. Thanks for the CITO Wespro?? #8,255
Of course Mary & David were there. Arrived in good time despite a detour and lots of parked cars already. Have never seen so many muggles all in their gazebos and tents. Very satisfying to find so much rubbish, and thanks to everyone who gave M the ring pulls. No doubt there will be a lot more rubbish when all the muggles depart. Our thanks to wespro.
Plenty of people enjoying the foreshore this morning. As I strolled to the posted coordinates, I noticed plenty of rubbish had been left overnight.I attended this CITO today and was pleased to see the number of attendees. With everyone's help, it was clear that a significant difference was made here. Thanks wespro for organising and thus allowing us to have a positive outcome on the area.
Well done wespro on continuing to include us geocachers joining your community group. We did manage to round up a huge amount of rubbish in an area well populated with people.Keep up the great work.
Headed down from Ballarat for a morning of caching and started here at the CITO. Lots of rubbish collected, with so many bottles and cans. Cardboard, cig butts and of course the obligatory tyre that always seems to be found. All up a good result with the place certainly looking cleaner. Thanks wespro...another good CITO...
With the forecast being for 35+ degrees, by the start at 9:00 am, much of the grassed area to be cleaned had been claimed by small and large groups of people with their tents and gazebos. As the CO stated, even if we cleaned up those areas, by the end of the day, it would need doing again. So we moved in the opposite direction gathering rubbish as we went. By the end, there was a lot of rubbish collected. Thanks to Wespro for organising the CITO.
Find number 14657 at 9:02:40am on Saturday the 23 November 2024Up and at em early this morning with a long drive from Croydon down to Geelong for this CITO and I'm missing one on the 23rd for my monthly CITO challenge, yeah, another one done and dusted. It was great to catch up with everyone and gather some rubbish for the good of all mankind (and womankind )**Thanks for hosting this event cache wespro**---*WOW, so much happening at home in Victoria*Dont forget to log your will attend for Victorias first ever Block Party in March 2025, the [**The Sunbury Event**](https://coord.info/GCAP417).Theres also all those lists of amazing geocaches at [Geocaching Victorias List webpage]( https://geocachingvictoria.com.au/information/great-caching-lists), go check them out.
The place was crowded this morning as we turned up to do our thing. Collected a bag plus some . Many thanks for organising it.
Looks highly likely that dalerious and I will be around this neck of the woods, so we may as well lend a hand before the heat hits; looks like it is shaping up to be a stinker .The refreshments after the CITO would be greatly appreciated .Thanks for hosting wespro.
Have pencilled this one into the calendar, hoping to make it but with event commitments the following 2 weekends it will probably depend on my ability to bank some brownie points between now and then.
