Almost forgot to log our attendance here Thanks for the Event, and we are glad you have a birthday to celebrate.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GOLDIE. I arrived a little late but the Party was still going on, it sure was a delicious cake and everyone enjoyed a piece or two, plus the other goodies that were shared. I would have loved to join the paddle after the Party but sadly that wasn't happening. Dr's orders - no sun and don't get wet so hope the Multi isn't archived too soon so I have a chance of getting it. A very enjoyable Event was enjoyed by all. ???????????? TFTE

Im bringing my husbands beast so will have room for a couple of paddlers and their yaks.

Sadly we have too many others things to sort out today. Hope the event goes well

What a great event, so many faces I haven't seen for far too long and of course birthday celebration for Karen 'Goldielover.'. Thanks for organising this and sorry I couldn't take part in the canoeing part. I'm sure all that did are having a great adventure.

Wow, wasnt that cake something? Thank you K&K for the chance to celebrate with you. Sorry we didnt paddle the creek, but when it comes to muddy river water, were both a bit precious. Still it was fun to drive ahead and cheer on the paddlers, plus meet them at the end. Onwards to the next zero event Karen. ??????

I arrived early to find the tables already set up with delicious goodies, and I was a little ashamed to admit that I failed to eat breakfast, so I was hungrier than usual. Luckily there were more than enough treats and healthy sandwiches to satisfy everyone's needs, and a fantastic cake was presented to commemorate the occasion! It was great chatting/meeting a few Queensland geocaching legends that I had either yet to meet, or have a good conversation with, as well as a good chat with the regulars. Thanks [stairman1](https://coord.info/PR4R27Z) for the event organisation and hosting.----------Today on Queensland election day, I joined the celebrations of the [Canoe Oxley creek, celebrate Goldies 60th birthday](https://coord.info/GCAXPKD) Event. I then joined the group to kayak upstream Oxley Creek, following the waypoints of [Oxley Debris](https://coord.info/GC69CFE) until reaching the final prize. A few final geocaches were visited as I returned home.

Such a lovely day for an event under such beautiful shady trees. Happy Birthday Karen!. Here's to many more!!It was lovely catching up with lots of people and meeting a few new people. Thanks for organizing, Kelvin. All the paddlers seemed to enjoy their journey up Oxley Creek. It was a lovely day for it.

Happy Birthday Goldielover! I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating with your geocaching friends.It was lovely to meet you both and a few others as well, whose names I know well but haven't yet met face to face. There was a great spread of party food for everyone, and plenty of chatter amongst old and new friends. Then the group paddle up Oxley Creek began, which was well timed with the incoming tide. It was my first group paddle and it was interesting to see all the different boats that people turned up with. We all made our way up the creek at varying paces, stopping along the way to find all the new caches and rediscover old waypoints. I was here two weeks ago to do the Oxley Debris cache with Kolour (who sadly couldn't make it today). Since then the team from Ocean Crusaders have done a big rubbish cleanup and it has made such a difference. The creek was looking lovely today and with good company and nice weather, it couldn't get much better. Oxley Debris was my first kayak cache and probably one of my all time favourite caches so it is sad that it will be archived soon. At the end of the paddle, those who had not yet been to the the cache disembarked and went to find it. Having been to the cache twice already this year, I didn't feel I needed to go a third time. It's an impressive cache that I'll never forget, but what makes this a special cache is that it is found at the end of a big adventure. My first time it was a solo adventure, the second time it was shared with a good friend, and today the adventure was shared with a group of friends. Thanks so much stairman1 for organising this wonderful event and for placing all the great geocaches both new and old!

Golly, I miss when events like this were the standard. Way more than the bare minimum of time and effort and a bunch of interesting people to chat to. Of course seeing the event appear, I was super keen to celebrate Goldielovers big birthday and hang out with stairman1.It all created a bit of a realisation for me. My roof racks no longer fit my new car, which meant I'd have to borrow a car (from KbreeAhh), and then pick up a trailer, and then put a watercraft on that. Now with a second person involved, it was required to bring the two-seat canoe.Upon arrival the car shuffle was graciously sorted out and I was back at the event for the coupla hours of social and snacks. I very much enjoyed catching up with folks I only see at events and indulging in a slice of cake or two.Genuinely, I was surprised when the event time had passed and it was paddle o'clock. A few craft were taken down the hill and the adventure began. Not my first time in the creek. I've paddled it before and a few years ago joined Ocean Crusaders on a clean-up. The latter have been back in the last fortnight which is just excellent. Even still, the canoe ended up rather full with the smaller bits we could grab given low tide.All done, happiest of birthdays wished, and a lovely day out. Thank you Goldie and Stairman - it is always a pleasure!

It was lovely to meet the COs today and hang out with a number of cachers I dont often see. Congratulations Goldie, and thank you kindly for the delicious spread. Hope everyone had a great time on the final paddle to Oxley Debris afterwards and the weather played nice for you. Looks like a really pretty part of Brisbane that I had never been to before.

Happy Birthday Goldielover. A beautiful celebration in the park followed by canoeing. Nice to meet and catch up with fellow geocachers. The canoeing expedition was really enjoyable and the company was appreciated. Thanks for a truely great day.

A chance for meetup and a paddle on the Dark Side. This is an area that Ive never been before, so it was killing a couple of birds with one stone, including the opportunity for a Large Multi.There was a nice group of cachers at the event, which I arrived at around 11:45 after dropping my geo-mobile close to the finish point, and being picked up by Shazzar66.On arrival, I met up with some old geo-buddies, as well as meeting the CO and the Birthday Girl.Thanks for the sandwiches, which were my lunch, after driving down the highway from the Sunny Coast for the event. They were delicious and much appreciated. Sorry, I couldnt help with the cake.Thanks, stairman1, for organising a lovely event, perfect weather, and excellent tides.Happy Birthday, Goldielover. We will be staying at Caloundra. May be able to attend depending on sorting a watercraft.

Oh I'm not sure but I'm hoping that the other half of my Team (son) will do the rowing as I cannot get my arm wet for medical reasons. Got my fingers crossed.

Sounds like a brilliant way to celebrate ones birthday. Looking forward to finally meeting you both and participating in my first group paddle too.I will have my 7 seater car so happy to help with carpooling if needed.

Pro tip: don't buy a new car that your roof racks don't fit onto, thus leaving your kayak stranded.Anyway, will have to borrow a mates car with a towball and parents trailer. It'll be a faff, but I am coming paddling, dang it!Oh, and the cake beforehand. Definitely that too

Ill be in Dunedin, so wont make it. Sad to hear about the archiving of Oxley Debris - I was hoping to do it now that I have a kayak - will see how I go.
