A plan was made with Net61 to find the caches along the HRT trail. We have ridden the trail before, but today we were doing it with 4 wheels (car) rather than 2 (bike). The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. This was our first cache of this series, where we made a nice quick find before continuing on to the next one. TFTC
Thanks to the CO for planning and setting out this power trail. Nice to be a part of it with my own cache. Most of them are quick park and grabs but the odd one taking a bit more time. This one was my starting point on my way home from Thames.
I had a plan to come down from Auckland with supernannny to do the HRT trail from Te Aroha to Matamata. But she had offered to drive us everywhere in her hybrid car which is soo cheap to run and which was really nice of her. It was pouring with rain when she arrived to pick me up at 7am, did some caches along the way apart from the power trail, visited a friend in Hamilton for a much needed coffee, then home about 10pm. First on our list. Wet feet right from the get go, lol... as expected, raining now again, this time it doesn't stop.
On a road trip with Gorby .Shame it was raining....but we just carried on regardless!A bit tricky to park at some of these hides....But thanks for placing the trail pomtom.
Did this lot by car. Parking a bit of an issue for this one. Didnt take long to find. Tftc
Travelling back down to Opotiki for work and as I had left earlier i wanted to cache on the way down to add to our numbers. I had checked and found a new addition to the HRT trail and this looked just the sort of detour that would be of interest.Quick find and bumped into to another cacher tryfyn. Great to meet you and discover a bit more about the trail I was just about to start.TFTC
As I stopped, another car stopped on the other side of the road. The suspicious-looking fellow turned out to be nztravellers. We had a chat then went along the trail in opposite directions. TFTC.
Last one on the trail for today. Will be back with bikes tomorrow to complete more. TFTC ( missing its film canister inside if it had one like the others)
After a night in Auckland we decided to keep going and do the trailFirst one nice quick find thanks
After a night in Auckland we decided to go and do the trail from Te Aroha to MatamataOver the other side of the road we go to a quick findThanks
**22,168**We were in the area to visit with family in rural Morrinsville and decided it would be a great time to collect these caches. Fortunately we were quite early and it looked like a rain shower had just gone through the area so there were no muggles out on the trail at this stage. A nice quick find here and then we were off to the next one. TFTC
Got a call from Boges to have an afternoon clearing this trail of caches. This was the 1st. He had collected this one previously so let me find it as he put better caching shoes on. Thankfully a quick find. Number noted and off to the next. Thank you for the placement.
On a mish with the NZ Flossy. A great day for it A nice trail to get our heads back in the game before heading to Dunedin. Many thanks.
Day trip with McJandals collecting these new caches. Having fun catching up and discussing how we should have got our bikes Oh well next time . Thanks for putting out all these caches and giving us a good day. TFTC
{FTF}. We found this and then headed into town for a drink, only to find the road closed for a huge and very well attended event. Too many people for us, so backwards we went, knowing a quieter cafe wasn't far away. Thanks for bringing us here and the great power trail pomtom44 ????????
Plans today was work further up in the Waikato, than up to Waiuku if time was on our side caching.Arranged to meet Squirrel Nutcase at Karapiro, than got a phone call about new caches Matamata.Quick phone call and plans changed. new meeting point Tirau.quick coffee and Matamata bound.family group very near saying their goodbyes to each other.when they left we grabbed cache. Thanks for the addition to the HRT>TFTC
My grandfather used to live close by to this spotlots of memories around this area for me thanks Pomtom44 great trail and a bonus clean log {FtF }
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Re-routing, re-routingThe original plan was to meet Gap further up the country. But the multiple pings in my email inbox this morning signalled something big The universe knows Im chasing a milestone, and this HRT add-on must be the answer to someones prayersThe neighbours were out in force making this search awkward. We tried a couple of possibilities before finding the cache. A satisfying end to this trail. Thanks pomtom44. TFTC.
Having an influx of emails this morning, Kiwi Does Stuff and ourselves made our way over to complete this trail. Appreciate the caches! All were found in good condition.
After a massive rush of emails this morning, we delayed our visit over to checkout some other things. With the weather still looking good we made a run for it. TFTC and TFTPT
