On a road trip with Jag 50.While the driver parked the car I made a quick find.Thanks.
A plan was made with Net61 to find the caches along the HRT trail. We have ridden the trail before, but today we were doing it with 4 wheels (car) rather than 2 (bike). The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. While the driver stopped to give way to the traffic, Net hopped out of the car to find this one. Another quick find on our way south to Matamata. TFTC
Thanks to the CO for planning and setting out this power trail. Nice to be a part of it with my own cache. Most of them are quick park and grabs but the odd one taking a bit more time. This one was avenging a DNF from last trip. Don't know how I missed it last time.
Easy find here with the hints. Good with two of us hunting....Thanks again for making this Power Trail for us all, Pomtom.
I had a plan to come down from Auckland with supernannny to do the HRT trail from Te Aroha to Matamata. But she had offered to drive us everywhere in her hybrid car which is soo cheap to run and which was really nice of her. It was pouring with rain when she arrived to pick me up at 7am, did some caches along the way apart from the power trail, visited a friend in Hamilton for a much needed coffee, then home about 10pm. I must really keep my eyes open, not the first time today I have walked right past the hint item...lol. But when I back-tracked, it was soon obvious. This area really looks 'country', so nice to be away from the city. Thanks pomtom btw.
Didnt take too long to find here. The sheep seemed to be quite intrigued with what we were up to. Tftc
Travelling back down to Opotiki for work and as I had left earlier I wanted to cache on the way down to add to our numbers. I had checked and found a new addition to the HRT trail and this looked just the sort of detour that would be of interest. All the caches along this trail were in good condition and were easy to find and log. I took note of all the clues in the lids for future reference.Eventually got the right angle! Thanks for setting this trial up!
The road beside this section of the trail was getting quite busy and so was the trail itself with quite a few cyclists appearing from both directions.A particularly large group was approaching as we arrived at GZ and after finding the cache we had to pretend we were having a rest stop and some water. However they did get a bit concerned as we were holding the pill bottle the log was in and were writing in our notebook so it must have looked to them like we were taking some medication and recording our symptoms. One kind cyclist asked if we were okay and we assured him that we were.Once the coast was clear we finished signing the log, re-hid the cache and continued on our way before anyone called a doctor.TFTC.
After a night in Auckland we decided to go and do the trailNice fine afternoon evening it wasSo far all off to a good startNice hide thanks
After a night in Auckland we decided to go and do the trail from Te Aroha to MatamataOn a roll now so far a great we trail not to much trafficnice wee hide thanks
**22,174**Jumped the gun on this one and started searching before actually reaching GZ (well having over shot it) and on checking the GPS realised our mistake and then soon had the cache in hand. TFTC
Got a call from Boges to have an afternoon clearing this trail of caches. Looked in a couple of places before we were able to locate. Thank you for the placement.
It was the first day back at school for the kids so it was a peaceful afternoon with KGD to go for a country drive and get these treasures. The weather forecast was for heavy showers but they went around us. Thanks for putting this together
Doh no luck here. Was looking for something similar to the others but will have another go next time. Sun 13th Oct
On a mish with the NZ Flossy. A great day for it A nice trail to get our heads back in the game before heading to Dunedin. Many thanks.
Day trip with McJandals collecting these new caches. Having fun catching up and discussing how we should have got our bikes Oh well next time . Thanks for putting out all these caches and giving us a good day. TFTC
This cache was showing no find, so we honed in on this. The accursed flax bush was searched and searched, with macwatt finally laying his hands on it for a {FTF}. On the return journey, we saw a gathering here, so we stopped for a social catch (cache) up with nufrat, fapandgap, and Squirrel Nutcase. Thanks for the cache pomtom44 ??
This should have been my 2nd find today but it shocked me, on my return the big brave men searched all spots carefully and soon had the cache, not a shocking experience for them, then as we are saying farewell the other first to find hunters arrived, a quick catch up and chat then we all said goodbye, tftc
With Gap (of Fap and Gap) Re-routing, re-routingThe original plan was to meet Gap further up the country. But the multiple pings in my email inbox this morning signalled something big The universe knows Im chasing a milestone, and this HRT add-on must be the answer to someones prayersWe joined nufrat at this location. Shed had a shocking experience here earlier, but we made sure to avoid repeating those shenanigans While we were chatting, Macwatt and Kahluis pulled up for a debrief. Thanks pomtom44. TFTC.
This cache was a bit of a testKL had been out searching for a while and was about to throw in the towel ..I checked my GPS and yes I was close after short scratch around all was revealed and a squeaky clean log sheet was found { FtF} pleased to grab a first to find thanks pomtom44 fir setting this trail
Plans today was work further up in the Waikato, than up to Waiuku if time was on our side caching.Arranged to meet Squirrel Nutcase at Karapiro, than got a phone call about new caches Matamata.Quick phone call and plans changed. new meeting point Tirau.quick coffee and Matamata bound.arrived at GZ to find Nufrat waiting for us.she had tried earlier only to receive a shock from the cocky's fence.found with no problem.Than 2 other cachers turned up for a chat plus comments about cheese scones just down the road.TFTC
Chasing what we thought were the last of the FTF, visited by many, but sadly not logged by any yet. Oh well.
Bit late to arrive out here, not quite the FtF we hoped for but happy to find. TFTC!
