A plan was made with Net61 to find the caches along the HRT trail. We have ridden the trail before, but today we were doing it with 4 wheels (car) rather than 2 (bike). The sun was out, but the day was not too hot - perfect weather for this series. While Net used the nearby facilities, JAG found the cache at the base of a post near the flax. Signed the log and replaced as found. TFTC

Thanks to the CO for planning and setting out this power trail. Nice to be a part of it with my own cache. Most of them are quick park and grabs but the odd one taking a bit more time. Another cook sculpture near this one. Almost didn't find it

I had a plan to come down from Auckland with supernannny to do the HRT trail from Te Aroha to Matamata. But she had offered to drive us everywhere in her hybrid car which is soo cheap to run and which was really nice of her. It was pouring with rain when she arrived to pick me up at 7am, did some caches along the way apart from the power trail, visited a friend in Hamilton for a much needed coffee, then home about 10pm. Flax, flax, flax, oh well at least it's raining, what's worse than dry flax? Wet flax off course. Supernannny thankfully found this one, but I put the cache back in a slightly easier spot to be seen.

Travelling back down to Opotiki for work and as I had left earlier I wanted to cache on the way down to add to our numbers. I had checked and found a new addition to the HRT trail and this looked just the sort of detour that would be of interest. All the caches along this trail were in good condition and were easy to find and log. I took note of all the clues in the lids for future reference.I hate flax caches but was glad to find this one quickly. Thanks for setting this trial up!

What a nice rest stop, there are a few of these along the trail and a lot of effort has gone into them. The artwork nearby is also a nice touch. We were a bit worried about this cache due to the hiding location but fortunately it turned out not to be a problem and we spotted it after only a short search. Phew. We have a bad track record with hides like this.TFTC.
