Surprisingly busy path we have not seen before. Yes you have to get down and dirty for this one.
While Mrsjag was on a phone call, Net made her way to gz and soon had this cache in hand, just as Mrsjag was about to join her in the search. TFTC
You never really notice how many people walk on these paths until you have a geocache to find.
A successful morning caching with Team Welsh today on Sherrie's birthday, finding 19 caches out of 19, and even an unexpected FTF.Plenty of people out on this walkway making the most of a lovely sunny Sunday morning, while we loitered suspiciously in the T-Zone. Took a little while to see where a cache could be hidden here. Then I spotted a potential hiding place, and sent Mr KC around to check it out. Yep, there it is. TFTC
Parked and one of the entrances and soon spied the T Zone, checked a couple of places before Mrs KC made a suggestion and Mr KC went in for the retrieval. TFTC
Me and my friend miningsleuth could not find this today on our bike ride so any hints would be appreciated
Bit baffled, think it will be a simple one as the logs suggest but just don't have the head for it at the moment
Wow.....was a bit worried this would take a while after Lumin had a DNF on her first visit .I had gumboots on as I had come straight from a muddy tree planting Event out West. And they proved quite handy! The lovely path was rather busy today...with grandparents and buggies and toddlers galore. So it was hard to look normal where I wanted to go.....!!!!!!!At least no one asked "Are you OK."...which I get quite a lot at my age! After going way too far underneath, below G L, I tried somewhere a lot easier! And felt it straight away Thank goodness! No need for extra hints or texts !Was so pleased!Great walkway for your first cache....Congratulations!
[FTF] @11:31, yay!!This cache was published at 10:00, when I was sitting in a cafe in Browns Bay enjoying a blueberry muffin after having just done a 10km run. Like I said in my DNF log, it made me smile when I saw where it was, since Sherwood Reserve is one of my favourite parks in Auckland and I've been here several times for [Sherwood Reserve parkrun](https://parkrun.co.nz/sherwoodreserve/)! I finished my muffin and walked over to GZ. After searching for quite a while, I was beginning to feel like I might just be a bit cache blind today, so I logged my DNF but decided to stay in the park and enjoy the sunshine for a while. Lucky I did, because soon I had a message from the friendly CO offering a little extra help. I was happy to take them up on it as I really did want to find this one while I was here. After quite a bit of guidance from the CO, I was able to find the cache in a place that makes a lot of sense with the hint and is right on the coords... and would have saved me getting spiderwebs in my hair if I had just searched more closely there before! This is an excellent first cache, it's watertight and in a great spot, and I hope it encourages more people to explore this beautiful park - especially on a sunny day like today! Thank you very much to the CO for placing it here and for the friendly correspondence (#2430)
I saw the notification for this come out just as I had headed through Waterview tunnel, so I thought about looking on my way home. In the end I came this way round after the school pick up. I had forgotten to check my phone so I didn't realise Lumin298 had already been here. I parked at the top of the walkway and came straight down. As my phone was settling down I had a message from another CO wondering if I was going to find his new cache! I found this in the first place I looked. I had just finished signing the log when a muggle appeared, but he didn't seem to be in the least bit concerned with what I was doing down there.
I smiled when I saw the notification for this cache, since I just so happened to be in Browns Bay this morning and this is a park I know really well from both running and volunteering at Sherwood Reserve parkrun (side note: **do not attempt this cache between 7am and 10am on Saturdays, it will be very busy!!** ). However, after 22 minutes of searching, I can't find the cache. It is probably still there - I'm a bit tired having just been for a run and might not be trying hard enough!
