After a hot day out caching with Omegaman we took a break at a certain Pub to have a parma and some refreshments while we waited for it to turn dark, once we thought it was dark enough we headed out with several illuminating TOTTS to guide us a long the way. We eventually made it to GZ and our names were added to the log book. Thanks ahomburg for the cache
Omegaman1971Support Your Local VillainLive - Laugh - LurkFirst To Find: 206Sidetracked Cache Finds: 141Out with Rebel Acts on this scorching day, tracking down some new local caches and a few farther out. Would definitely prefer cooler weather for caching, but it's still a great time hunting for hidden plastic!Last cache of the day after a nice meal and a few drinks. Cheers for the cache ahomburg
Its dark out here, and Im grateful for the abundance of reflectorssmall yet frequent, forming a great path to follow. We wander along, Kristy smells paint, spray paint to be precise, and shes right. There on the path lay a spray can and gloves. Did we disturb them? Who knows, the good thing being they were clearly more scared of us than we were of them! The final reflectors might have been mistaken for a doorbell, yet sharp-eyed Kristy knew exactly where to go, and, what to do. I was all kinds of confused. Why did she wander all the way over there? Ahhh, OK, only after waypoint 2 had been discovered did the penny drop for me. Doh.Its nearing midnight by this time (or at least that is what it felt like to me). We wander to GZ and Im a bit zombie-esque. Bedtime has well and truly past. I make my way down to where I think it might be, so does Roaming Howie. There is not much space here yet he still scrambles for the cache. Very nice. Me, in my near comatose state, simply watch on. I even watch on when its time to replace the cache. Sorry Roaming Howie, I should have done that! This is a great night cache, fun, different TOTTs, easy to navigate a fav from me, thanks ahomburg
Tonight is our belated Halloween spooky night adventures and I hope Roaming Howie doesnt play too many tricks and Snips and co scares off the ghosts, otherwise I might just be screaming rather than signing a log! This night time walk was lots of fun... the reflectors were nicely evenly placed and in good condition to spot along a good path and we managed to avoid scaring too many possums and sugar gliders with our bright torches; although we likely scared off a graffiti spray artist. the waypoints were a little tricky but we spread out further and were then able to obtain the required information to find the geocache.thanks for this evening's walk and fun use of the UV tool!
**26/10/2024, 22:01:00****Find #5871****Multi Find #476**I headed out with Steve to tackle a couple of night caches and other multi's whilst we were in this area. This cache was our main goal of the night. It was a pleasant night for a walk and hardly any muggles were around. We followed the white reflectors and then suddenly were confronted with a multitude of reflectors. What the? [?] Either the Council or Parks Victoria had place an aluminium tag on almost every tree in this part of the park and they often looked suspiciously like the sort of reflector a CO might use. Having determined that neither these tags nor the information on them were part of the cache we found ourselves at the other end of the park. The final two reflectors were found and then our U.V. torch came into play. Its great to see UV making a comeback. Its great to see a new night cache too.GZ and the cache presented no problems and then we headed back to Steve's car.A favourite point from me. **Thank-you to ahomburg for placing this geocache**
*Found on the 26 Oct 2024 @ 10:00pm.**Cache find # 15925.* Tonight, I headed out with Mark, something we havent done for a while to tackle a couple of night caches and a few other caches around the area. This cache was the main reason for our adventure tonight, we do like a bit of a stroll following reflector trails in the bush or park surroundings so we had to check this one out.The trail started well with no problems at all following the trail until we were getting close to the end of the trail, we then started seeing what we thought were reflectors on every tree in the area but after taking a closer look at a couple, the turned out to be not reflectors but aluminium tree tags with numbers on them, so we ignored them and continued on find what was needed shortly after, once we had the final coordinates, we moved on to that location where Mark was able to make the find after a short search.**Thanks to ahomburg for keeping the game going by placing this cache.**
Found at 15:57I was in the area this afternoon feeling lazy so decided to go for a walk. Even though I didn't meet either of the requirements of this cache (night or UV), I was here anyway so kept an eye out for any telltale signs while stretching my legs. Before long I was in the area where I had suspected I needed to be and had managed to collect enough information to put me in the right track to gz.From there or was an easy (of slightly confusing) find and I was able to put my name in the log book. Thanks ahomburg for the cache. A fav for me for a nice cache that I imagine would be easier actually done at night.
Woohoo - STF.I missed the notification when this came out but was happy to be out tonight on a pretty mild night so close to home. And night caches are one of my favourite types of caches too.The reflector trail glowed brightly in the darkness and when it moved off the track I thought that those orange reflectors looked more reddish to me, and in two pairs as wellthat blinked! After scanning around and checking some tree tags I spotted the real orange trio and soon after the yellow duo.My first target yielded to my UV light and the second to my white light. Nice printing on both.Calculating GZ had a twist but soon all was good and I had my target in range. Another twist on arrival had me hunting in the wrong spot for a while, but eventually I trusted my compass and made the finduntil a final twist in the logbook had me wondering where I was before confirming I was STF.A lot of fun tonight ahomburg - thanks for the well-planned adventure. TFTC! 18 October 2024 10:55:28pm 8650 thanks to ahomburg for the cache! {FTF} #2 tonight! Certainly an adventure tonight. We saw it get published but was raining really hard. And dinner was getting cooked so I decided to look at the mystery instead. Managed to finally solve it once we finishing dinner and decided it was worth a look! Not what to expect, we were prepared at home with our hiking boots, and TOTTs. Thinking we may need other TOTT or prep-haps updated attributes after todays rain- such may require wading or needing a boat! We decided to head to the Mystery first and the. came here afterwards to see how far we could actually get!We got started and off we went! So far so good. We lost the trail for a little, and back tracked. We lost it again and went off on tangents looking everywhere to no avail. Tried something else, and way we went again! We did make it harder than we needed too! On and off misty rain fell but we were already out here and committed so we worked through it!Eventually we found one part and thensesrched far and wide and eventually then the other! And once we had the information needed to, we proceeded to look for the orange ones but still never found them! Off to the GZ and found the blank book! Signed and back to the car! Expected time: 40 minutes; Actual time: 80 minutes, unexpected Friday night caching shenanigans priceless!
