Hi Everyone,It was a lovely event yesterday, celebrating GeoLorikeets first geo-birthday.If any of you have any photos of the event, feel free to add some to the cache page through your log(s).I still have Laighside Legends who still needs to log it so please do so so I can archive this event. Thanks to everyone for coming.
Sorry no cup. You've made this announcement after I left home. Didn't want to be late!
I arrived exactly on time, and attended for the entire duration. I went to all the game WPs (not in numerical order), though I didn't climb every tree in the park. Happy to share {FTF} to help Geolorikeet to celebrate her 1st Geo-Birthday. Well done GeomonkeyAU on your well organsed event! ?? TFTE GeomonkeyAU
I arrived exactly on time to a park I once found a cache here before, and got into the swing of things once they guest-of-honour arrived to a welcome "SURPRISE". With the WPs in my phone, I headed off to find the clues. We brought along a few TOTT, and along with others, I managed to get the secret codeword. It was a fun event, and it's lovely that you went to all this trouble to plan it and somehow keep it a secret. Excellent work, and I look forward to your CCE event next year. TFTE
Thanks to GeoMonkeyAU for hosting this event to celebrate GeoLorikeets 1st Birthday to show thanks to her for being a great mum. Nice catch up with fellow geocachers. Thanks to CO/????
TFT Event,That was very different and the activity kept me going. Needed help with some translation that we made a mess of at home and a loan of a UV light.Good to also catch up with Gridg98 and chat about achievements from our past.Happy Geo-Birthday GeoLorikeet, great to be able to share this reward for all you have given to help GeoMonkeyAU.Visited trackables.
What a lovely event that went on for about 2.5 hours. It was very nice to chat to everyone on such a beautiful day. Very relaxing. Happy geo birthday to Geolorikeet. It was wonderful to see how much work you put into this event to make sure it was fun for everyone. And your ingenuity to provide hospitality is to be commended. I completed all the activities and found all the wpts with Wazza 9 in this fun activity. We worked out the code word and I was rewarded with a treat. Thank you. Nice to share a [FTF] with everyone else. And I thoroughly enjoyed the tree climbs.
GeoMonkeyAU, Congratulations on a well prepared event in a nice secluded park. Very enterprising to get everything organised and keep it all a secret! I really like that you have celebrated and thanked GeoLorikeet for helping and encouraging you in this great hobby.I remember meeting you and GeoLorikeet at the event on Cockatoo Island. We had a good chat that day as we did today. I arrived early and waited outside at one of the parking WPs as requested so as not to spoil the surprise. I even managed a shady spot for my geomobile. Thanks for the opportunity to claim FTF.It was a fun afternoon. TFTE # 6294

It was a such surprise! Thank you very much to GeoMonkeyAU for organising everything and thank you to all of you for coming. It was an unforgettable day to meIve been doing Geocaching with GeoMonkeyAU for over a year. I was only a driver at beginning. GeoMonkeyAU asked me to take him to quite few places. From 5 minutes away from home to 3 hours long trip. Up to northern beaches and down to Sutherland Shire and south coast. So many beautiful places I would never know if didnt do Geocaching. Most importantly I met lots of lovely people like you guys. Thats why I officially joined Geocaching after 5 months from our first find. Its a really great activity and enjoy it so much. Thank you to GeoMonkeyAU again. Appreciate you made your own money to buy some treats for my Geo birthday Many thanks to everyone joining the celebration and your warm birthday wishes Looking forward to catching up again soon
Hi Everyone, Im putting out all the info to the Geocaching Field Quest so please read everything. The goal of the quest is to uncover the keyword by visiting all the waypoints and then earning a reward. I have designed this quest in an attempt to satisfy everyone but some of the waypoints involve climbing. Im happy if one person goes to climb and brings the thing back down for everyone to scan but they must not scan it first and tell everyone. A ladder, squid/fishing pole and a UV light could possibly be useful as well as some general knowledge. I have posted the waypoint information so if anyone wants to get a start on things, they can.Waypoint 1: GLBEWP1 - Traditional at the posted Coords. D1.5 T2.5 Hint: Reach up.Waypoint 2: GLBEWP2 - Mystery (Puzzle) - D2.5 T1.5 Puzzle: S33 56.*** E151 05.*** What is 125388.714 multiplied by 7? Hint: UnderWaypoint 3: GLBEWP3 - Traditional at S33 56.824 E151 05.710 D1.5 T1.5 Hint: CornerWaypoint 4: GLBEWP4 - Traditional at S33 56.849 E151 05.711 D2 T4 Hint: The coords might not be accurate but it is similar to the tree for HGC Dickson if you have done it.Waypoint 5: GLBEWP5 - Mystery (Puzzle) D3 T4.5 Puzzle: Bing Qi Lin shou choose oneSAN san wu liu ba jiu jiu yi wu yi ling wu liu ba erSAN san wu liu ba wu si yi wu yi ling wu liu jiu jiuNo Hint.Waypoint 6: GLBEWP6 - Multi D2.5 T1 Puzzle: Start at the posted for the event and face the playground. Now turn about 200 degrees clockwise and look for 2 slabs of concrete and a tree. Now go there. No Hint.Waypoint 7: GLBEWP7 - Mystery (Puzzle) D4 T4 Puzzle: S33 56.*** E151 05.*** I hope you brought the useful vision light. Now go back to waypoint 4. And yes, it is D4 for a reason. No Hint.Waypoint 8: GLBEWP8 - Mystery (Challenge) D5 T5 Challenge: To find this, it is at the posted but you must do every waypoint beforehand and then you can do this one. Hint: UnderIt is best if you do the waypoints from waypoint 1 to waypoint 8 in order. Good luck with puzzle solving.
Ive solved all of them, so will I get 9 finds from this cache??? Haha lol. Im excited for tomorrow!
Hi Everyone, The event is very soon so Im posting an announcement to recall details and to make plans for caching. I almost got swooped by magpies on my recent bike ride to the park so a waypoint has been added. BYO food and water.DETAILS:Location: Peter Low Reserve, Kingsgrove.Date: Sunday, 27th October, 2024.Time: 14:30 - 15:30 (may stay longer if needed). Please arrive on time and make sure that you can stay the whole time. If you know you are arriving late or leaving early, you must contact the CO and notify them of this. If you are arriving early, please wait at the Monaro Street Entrance while the CO sets stuff up.Purpose: To help GeoLorikeet celebrate one year of geocaching as a surprise (not anything else).Entertainment: There will be a Geocaching Field Quest which is a treasure hunt around the area. There will be clues to where each waypoint is and it will be posted as an announcement on the day of the event. There are sTREEts nearby so a TOTT may be useful for one of the waypoints.CACHING:If you wish to go caching to find a physical cache, you please do so outside event hours. Your nearest:Cache: GC6YC2RTrad: GCAA22GMulti: GC6YC2RPuzzle (mystery): GCANB36AL and bonus: GCAB5AFWherigo: GCAFJ0AEarthCache: GC7J4CCVirtual: GC9P7TFYou can also check out some of my caches which are nearby. ***IMPORTANT DO NOT TELL/HINT STUFF ABOUT THE EVENT TO GEOLORIKEET***About a week until the event so I am putting out my first announcement with some general notes. There are magpies nearby and a waypoint has been made. Please take note if you are arriving by foot, bike or public transport. GMAU Corp. is not responsible for any injuries. The purpose of this event is to celebrate GeoLorikeets Geo-Birthday. NOT FOR ANYTHING ELSE!!! I am very concentrated on making this a good event because I want to show that I appreciate GeoLorikeets efforts in taking me geocaching. The official time of the event is 2:30PM - 3:30PM. Please do not arrive early and please do not arrive late. Arrive on the dot. If you arrive early, you will be told to wait at the Monaro Ave Entrance (Parking 1). If you know you are arriving late, please post a note or message me and please make sure that you will be able to stay the whole time. If you know you cant, message me. GeoLorikeet will be arriving at about 2:45 PM so 15 minutes can be used for planning the surprise. There will be a Geocaching Field Quest at the event. Please take note of everything. Thanks.
After meeting you for the first time yesterday, we would of loved to come and help celebrate, but alas, we will be in Tamworth, enjoying my other passion of sidecar speedway spectating. (and cacheing of course). Geolorikeet, please have a wonderful time.
Despite being in the park of my first ever hide, I'm 95% sure I won't be able to make this. Congrats to GeoLorikeet for a year of supporting GeoMonkeyAU in his geocaching adventures.
GeoLorikeets WA which was posted by me was secretly deleted so she does not get emails about the event through announcements.
Congratulations GeoLorikeet on your first birthday of geocaching. Unfortunately, I can't come to help you celebrate as I have a family activity booked in that day.Hope you have a great time.
Shhhh! I won't tell a soul. Not even a little birdy can tempt me. My lips/beak are sealed. I hope to come along and help celebrate this anniversary.
