A caching day out to Kurnell with SueDan83 and Meritonnn. We all crawled in for the search and it was Dan that quite quickly came up with the prize.Plenty of muggles around in this area on a warm Sunday.SL TNLN TFTC
Dan was OCW Meritonnn and Sensible Sis today. We found this one first while the tide was still low. The biggest of this group found it, but it was too hard for him to SL as he had no room to move. So he passed it over to Sis to SL for him. TFTC MaxI125
I checked the tides and chose today as a suitable tide to visit the caches along the waterfront here.Parked the geomobile along Prince Charles Parade a bit away from GZ as it was quite crowded there and walked back. NO .... there's a muggle family sitting on the deck, 4 more under an umbrella to one side of it and another sitting on the sand reading on the other side. Will I go and find some other caches and come back? No can't do that because of the incoming tide.So stealth is the answer.I walked down onto the beach carefully surveying the muggles. At an appropriate moment I ducked underneath and began to wriggle my way towards GZ. I could hear conversations from above and to the side. I assumed if any of them had seen me there would be some exclamations and discussion about why was someone where I was. There was none of that so I began to crawl slowly onwards. It wasn't too long before I caught sight of the container. Grabbed it, signed the log and replaced the cache. How to get out from under here without questions about where and why had I come from there.Solution, escape from the side.Lucky I'm not to big and am very flexible!I did get quite sandy but that's OK, easily brushed off.TFTC # 6280
came back to redeem myself for some sins of the past...and I did that...and then spotted the cache a bit further back. Got myself quite sandy in the process, but...all fun!
Found the old cache and didn't have time to return after the CO clarified that I had found the wrong container. I'll be back another day.
I did have to get down on my hands and knees here and got a bit sandy, but managed to spot the cache and sign the log. TFTC!
Find# 12388Found after crawling right under and ignoring the remains of the bison.TFTC MaxI125
Judging by the recent levels of the high tides, it IS POSSIBLE that it has gone for a swim. We will check soon and see what we can do if it has gone for a swim to the bottom of the bay. MaxI125
That took some crawling around, found a few meters from GZ. Stamped log and replaced. Thanks to MaxI125.
Ah just read the latest CO note after our find so we are changing this back to a note. Will need to head back out!! We took an afternoon drive to collect a couple of the latest publications out this waythis one we spent a bit too much time further in than we needed to before spotting the old cache and collecting what we thought was the nearby prize, particularly with a few familiar signatures on the log we thought we had the cache but turns out theres another one out there. Low tide and cool evening coming on when we got here so we were able to make the retrieval in total peace and quiet. A beautiful spot that well enjoy revisiting!!
We have been informed a while back that 2 BISON TUBES are at GZ. **THE BISON TUBES ARE NOT THE CACHE YOU NEED TO FIND!** Please look at the *Size* rating of the cache and loom for a **PLASTIC CONTAINER**. The coordinates should be EXACTLY on-target. If you see ANY bison tubes, please do not sign the logbook inside them. They both belong to us and will be removed very soon as there is confusion quite often between them. This was kind of our fault for leaving 1 tube there, the other tube is not ours but it is now. Remember, **NOT THE DECK PLATFORM, RATHER THE DECK RAMP**Stay safe and happy caching all!MaxI125
We got a hi 5 with this one. Tide was well out. Grandson also assisted along with encouragement from some Mum's and their kids nearby. TFTC MaxI125.
Sent frazeydaze in to get this one. Probably didn't need to though. Apart from lots of nice shells there was no rubbish of any kind. TFTC
Found with oldmorty.Way more crawling than needed.I felt sure I was looking for a certain type of container. But no.Backing out, I spotted the cache. That's not what I was expecting.TFTC
Half day off so lets drive somewhere new - where I havent geocached yet. And wanted to discover how safe this ground zero is, based on the cache description. Oh yes quite safe. And theres a throwdown cache whose shape starts with a B. CO confirms that it shouldnt be there. Happily returned to GZ for another search. And yes, there it is. At 11:30 am with the showers getting heavier than half an hour ago. This is now my 60th [FTF] in just 15 months of geocaching. Thanks MaxI125 for this new hide
If NEEDLES have been found here before, I think it is appropriate to ask why a cache was placed in this spot and not other better spots nearby. Future finders, take care out there and be safe.
PLEASE NOTE: For those who have read the description and have seen/read about the NEEDLES part, the cache was moved about 2-5 meters from where the NEEDLES have been found before. This cache IS SAFE to find, as long as you arent in bare feet and or CRAWLING/TOUCHING/LOOKING THROUGH the washed up debris. THE DEBRIS ARE ON THE BEACH AND AT THE FRONT OF THE MAIN PLATFORM/DECK, NOT at GZ or the cache. We arent having a go at anyone, we are just stating some of the important information. PLEASE NOTE: We HAVE checked GZ and the cache hiding location for ANY sort of dangerous debris/objects OURSELVES. The worst objects we found have NO danger to cachers, rather fish and marine life (Plastics and rubbish). Also, this beach has 2 high and low tides in 24 hours, so ANYTHING that washes up wont be here for long! We DO appreciate the concerns and questions raised about our caches, as it helps give a better understanding to the Geocaching community. THANKING THOSE WHO RAISED CONCERNS!Like we said, we arent having a go at anyone, just sharing important information.Happy caching! MaxI125
