Murrumbidgee magic was a tough walk in the heat, steep too. 4.5T is pretty fair. We had planned to go on but getting down to the river, even walking on the contours proved challenging.A days caching out around the vampire trails. I had completed most of the mornings walk but picked up a few along the way. A nice walk though along the river. Quite flat and easy going for the most part. Some horrible scrub in others, of the spikey sort, but not too bad.Low levels in the creek made for easy going at one point. Some crossed, some continued on the opposite side and others, shoes off and down the water. . Ah... very nice and refreshing!Sheep and their lambs were quite vocal, a deer antler evidence they were about. Later, sitting quietly by the river, a goanna and then a deer crossed the water and moved about the other banks a while.A few shorter walks and roadside caches. A walk into the afternoon proved a but warm and tough so we called it for a return back to the cars with a new plan, a fun way to get there too. Signing as VAT ( Vampire Adventure Trekkers) contesta, joolay, kittykatch, isopeda, search4, albida, Flintstones sacada and myself. A good day out, thanks for your cache!
Spending some time caching around the NSW/ACT southern tablelands with lots of side trips. TFTC.A great day out caching with a local group signing as VAT.The morning started with a few drive bys followed by a long hike down the Gudgenby River. Lots of blackberries, spiky scrub and even a wade along the river made a challenging yet enjoyable trek.Following this we all headed over to the Murrumbidgee River for another tough river walk. This one ended up hot, hazardous and up the steep cliff side so the walk was called off after the first find to end the great day.Nice hike with a fairly quick find.
Found with a fun group of geofriends during a great day of caching. A bit of a challenge getting into this one. TFTH
I feel like a mountain goat. Out with Contesta, Aquilus1, Sacada, Flintstone's, Kittykatch, Joolay, Search4 and me - signing as VAT - Vampire Adventure Treckers. Brilliant day, though expecting it to get hotter later. TFTC *Found with [Geooh GO](https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobiltal.geoohGO)*
Came from the top. Hot and slidey and pretty hectic. Called it quits after this one.Time to finish the vampires series. Today signing as VAT24-Vampire Adventure Trekkers 24. Made up of Aquilus1, contesta, kittykatch, isopeda. Search4, Flintstones and sacada. Thanks for getting me out and about DARKSIDEDAN
Vampire Series TrailWe are tackling the caches on or near the Vampire Series trail today and the Murrumbidgee River. Walking with Joolay, contesta, isopeda, albida33, Flintstones, Search4, sacada and Aquilus1. Signed as Vampire Adventure Trackers (VAT)Well that was a tricky scramble up from the river. I am glad we didn't come straight up but my ankle hates traversing across a slope like that. We were going to go on but the group decided to call it after this cache and head back to the cars. Thanks for hiding and maintaining this cache DARKSIDEDAN
A cache trip to the south of Canberra do some more of the Vampire series. Signing with VAT. A number of caches planned to pick up on the road and a second extra walk along the Murrumbidgee to round of a fun half day outing. and others added on the fly. A fun group outing on a beautiful late warm spring day. This cache: really steep area!!Thank you DARKSIDEDAN for putting the cache out and maintaining it.
Find # 13119Sometime ago, a group of us got together and tackled the first part of the vampire series. Earlier this week plan was hatched to set up a day to finish them off, along with some letterboxes which have been published since our last visit. If theres any energy to spare we will be tackling some of the TE caches along the river.Signing as VAT24 - Vampire Adventure Trekkers - Sacada, Kittykatch, Flintstones, isopeda, Search4, and Joolay.Trek from the nearby carpark was bloody hot and great for mountain goats. Torturous and the only value was the DT. Had plans to drop down to the TE caches but it was clear early on that was never going to happen. Many thanks to DARKSIDEDAN for placing Murrumbidgee Magic for us all to enjoy. Your contribution to the game through the placement and maintenance of this cache over the years is appreciated.
#22777 I was present when his cache was placed. Claiming now that the FTF has gone. It is indeed a wonderful spot to visit, but take care approaching GZ. TFTC.
[FTF] with mountainsbeyond and StarsAlign A gorgeous walk and spectacular scenery. Gets a favourite. Thanks DSD
[FTF] with SocialClimber & mountainsbeyond Fabulous views, fabulous hike and fabulous company heading out early..Worth a favourite point for the hike and views! TFTC DARKSIDEDAN!
[FTF] with StarsAlign and SocialClimber. It's always nice to walk in the Gigerline which I think is one of the most underrated reserves in the ACT. This one had us somewhat apprehensive as the journey down to (and back up from) the caches along the river here is not for the faint hearted. But our fears were unfounded, as this cache enjoys bespoke placement - quite high, a little like Snoop Dogg - and so it was a relatively easy walk to and from GZ. Great views from here! Thanks, DSD - that was fun. A favourite from me!
