A quick find here- the tram building looked pretty interesting. And I vaguely remember the dogs around here- incredible what happens over time and a place finds another life. TFTC!
Great location and brought some treaties at pop up markets here today. Found cache pretty quickly TFTC
Expensive little cache, came here today for a geo and ended up walking out with necklaces. Quick find for us and cool location. Tftc
Stage 1 of our trip is Sydney to visit Sal. Thanks to all the COs for placing and maintaining caches for us to find. Day 1. Walked from Maroubra around the Malabar headland. Day 2. We wandered around Centennial Park in the morning then headed to the QVB in the afternoon for a bit of shopping (and of course geocaching!). Day 3. Met friends for lunch in Glebe then wandered along the water front.
with a lot of new caches (and some older ones I was yet to find) in the inner western suburbs of Sydney, I caught an L1 Light Rail from Central and started cached up until 999 finds. This was cache 7/7. It was surprisingly muggle free at GZ, having read the hint, the likely hiding spot was located immediately. SL TN LN TFTC
(4 of 8 today - including 2 Adventure Labs)Now where can I go for some calendar finds today. Noticed a nice build-up of new placements around Annandale, so headed that way.Went for six and found them all - even a previous DNF. After that I continued on to grab two AL Locations.A good afternoon.###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###I've been to this area more than once for a find. Not sure if in quite this spot, though. Arrived from above and wondered about level. Didn't spot anything up top so continued down where something immediately caught my eye. checked it and had CIH. Nice and quick.Completed signing duties, replaced and away. Caches wait for no man... or woman... or child to be honest!SLTNLNTFTC
There are some new-ish geocaches in the inner west, and so Ms Atalanta and I decided to visit them and combine it with a walk from home. This is an example, close to the nearby interchange/spaghetti junction.Once close to GZ, it became readily apparent at about head height.TFTC.
Decided to chase the CO's latest city offerings by public transport - bus and lightrail - this morning. After a bus to Kingsford Juniors to jump on the light rail to the city for another light rail to Wentworth Park to grab the first cache before walking to Glebe light rail station to catch the light rail to Jubilee Park and the second cache. In the early 1960s my mates and I regularly attended the Friday night Trots after work. We'd meet up at a pub at the lower end of the city and after a couple of sherbets jump on a bus bound for Harold Park and if we'd backed a winner or two we'd head back to the city for a mixed grill at the Pitt Club. Oh those were the days. After alighting the light rail at Jubilee Park it was only a short walk to gz passing through the Tramsheds complex. At gz it was a quick find with the generous hint. Back to the Tramsheds for a coffee before heading home. Cache all good. SLRC as found. TFTC.
Just above eye level for me. Do recall going to the first Big Day Out concert hat was held here in a huge tent with The Go Betweens, and many more on a single stage.Never did attend the races, only once in my life at Rosehill.
That was a hard find because of my height and the old film case was a nice touch
After finding the Circus cache I walked back to Wentworth Park Station and caught the Light Rail on to Jubilee Park. It was a short walk to GZ."nobir urnq urvtug" well lucky I'd read the hint as I wouldn't have been able to see it. I could reach it though. Sat at the nearby tables to do the legal stuff.I never saw any races here, really it's a cruel thing, but I do remember watching the Trots on TV on Friday night. I remember there was a race called the Miracle Mile, whatever that was, must have been a mile in length I guess. I know it was before the days of colour TV but my memory is of the coloured silks of the drivers - must have had a good imagination!Don't like the look of all those new units but they have done a good job with the parklands.TFTC # 6235
Not another "nobir urnq urvtug".Hope I don't need to carry a terrorist control device on the Light Rail. That will look unusual to say the least!
I had somewhere to be in Glebe today so looked for any caches I could pick up in the area, and decided to start with this one - didn't even realise it was new! I approached from the wrong side, leaving me with a significant uphill walk afterwards, but hey, at least the way to the cache was downhill! I was a bit uncertain where the coordinates were pointing me to at first - there's a few possible levels that could come into play. The hint made clear which one was needed, and the hide was pretty easy to spot once it was in view. Signed and replaced as found. TFTC!
With the rain easing, I decided to do a senior's day tour to grab a couple of new caches. After getting off the light rail at Jubilee Park, I followed the steps to GZ. With a clear hint, it was an instant CIH that even I could reach. While stepping away to sign the log, I noticed someone I knew had already signed it today. As I put pen to paper, JG9172 pops up on his bike! After replacing, we then went for a coffee and some lunch, while enjoying some great conversation. A pleasant surprise.Another interesting tale in the life of alnic39. And A Day At The Races is one of my all time favourite Queen albums too. TFTC
Lunchtime cycle intended to make two quick finds turn into two finds and a nice lunch with Brewmaker. Made a quick find on this one then over to At the Circus where I made the find and noticed Brewmaker had also signed the log today. Thinking we may have crossed paths, I cycled back to A Day At The Races where I found Brewmaker signing the log. Had a good chat and we decided fish n chips at the nearby Tramsheds would make for a nice lunchtime meal. What a great afternoon. TFTC alnic39 #2948
