Found it whilst out on a weekend of caching with Earthlight on the Peninsula. TFTC
Another great puzzle with thanks. The cache is quality - logbook, hide and container. Coords spot on.A fun little loop with driver doineedthis and OZGrumpy to clean up a few dots that had appeared. THE BIG QUESTION series was the main target today. These caches saw us soak up the KM and try and figure which was the most efficient route. We got there in the end. These caches were signed as TOAD (Team Ozgrumpy Astro doineedthis)., A lot of effort has gone into these caches. Impressive. Love your work. A trip up to do the Big Question Mark with OZGrumpy and Astro. After 9, we finally get to the first in the series. An easy one, if you cant do a word search, you should really stick to traditional caches!
Thanks YPGeocachers for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #10810 on 9/11/2024 at 11:33AMThree of us headed north to collect a few smileys. Our target was the BigQ and also collect anything else we found along the way. Signed logs as TOAD (Team Ozgrumpy Astro doineedthis). A great day out, Thanks to all the COs for their time and effort.
I did this series as part of a group assault under the common name of "Siren Seekers", however I came back today to visit each cache as previously my involvement had been limited. The variety of hides, the distances involved and the nature of the puzzles mean this really isnt a "power trail" All caches were refound and all had been logged Siren Seekers or "SS" . Just me and 100,000 flies out here today!!! Awarding a favourite point to each one!!!! Thanks for a great series .................... had the puzzle solvers scratching their heads and working overtime!!
Out with Freddo to clean up the Question Mark. An interesting collection of puzzle some of which did our heads in.All the caches were found and were in good condition with accurate co-ords.TFTC
With the puzzles solved it was time to find and sign. Most were simple to locate. Some took a little more investigation.A number of reptiles were seen. A goanna. A sleepy. And two metres of eastern brown death noodle. The farmers are reaping. In some paddock the rake on the header will be set to low. Thanks for a fun geo art. With the log signed and the cache replaced it was time to leave. Onwards to the next cache. Woot, that is not to far.I would like to show my respect and acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the Land, and their continuing connection to it. I wish to pay my respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging. This particular geocache was found using one of the following GPS enabled devices, Garmin GPSr, Montana 680t, Oregon 650 or Dakota 20 and an Apple iPhone 11 using the marvelous Cachly app. Waypoints and paperless geocaching were downloaded via GSAK 9. Log prepared, checked and submitted using GSAK publish logs macro.Warning, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to exercise, meeting new people and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. Beware: you may have fun. Blockheads Unite in 2025.
**Found by Snap Happy** Out and about with GoodLook and TheDame as we headed to Yorke Peninsular for the night. Today we met up with CPWanderer, GizmosGang, Mogni, SirSpectre, JJS2, TK2, Plesiosaur22, TubbyBooBoo, JeffEddy, Martini989, Tweety2, TravelinBees, AllisterW, Northstar76, Superman22, LiB, Earthlight, Shandyk, SpiderMonkeysMum and FrogHoppin. Our caching name today was *"Siren Seekers"*. Logs were either stamped or signed with this group name or 'SS' depending on the size of the log and container. After the nearby early morning CITO, it was time to hit the road. The teams streamed out of the starting gates in search of this fabled marine creature with the head and upper body of a human being and the tail of a fish - They apparently loved music and often sang. Well, the only music today was from the radio in the car and the occasional 'found it' before making our way onto the next in the series and the few occasional and scattered caches along the way. Most caches were found quickly with a couple needing a longer search but all found. Caches were all in good condition unless otherwise stated. The thing I love about caching is the interesting stories, the extra interest and attention you take when traveling, the sight-seeing, the history, the interests of the individual COs, *the fantastic photo opportunities* and sometimes finding places that even some locals dont know about. I, like most cachers, look for more than a mint tin or a container under a bush. I appreciate the time that most COs take to construct a cache and write up a comprehensive listing and to create an interesting cache. **I love traveling this big land of ours.** I love taking the roads less travelled. I love the diversity of the land, the different scenes in the different seasons, the fresh air, the open plains, the lofty vistas and the magnificent waters. I even enjoy the longer scenic walks although I'm not as young and as fit as I used to be. I love the different coffee shops I find. I enjoy the times I cache with others but I usually cache on my own.The weather was lovely and a sunny but cool 19C . The vistas stunning and I particularly love the bright yellow fields of canola (especially if they had old buildings in them). The coffee shops and bakeries wonderful and the company fabulous. Many laughs ensued as we made our way North West.I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues. Thank you YPGeocachers for highlighting this area and for providing this game piece for our enjoyment. Thanks for the history lesson too. Appreciate your efforts. - PSorry for the generic log but doing so many in a day we lost track of individual hides. This does not mean we do not appreciate the enormous effort and expense gone into setting up the series. Many thanks YPGeocachers for the fun and laughs.**Warning**, this hobby can be addictive. It can lead to learning new things and finding interesting places you might not have known existed otherwise. *Took:* Nothing*Left:* Nothing.Cache on! **#19462**
What an amazing weekend to be on the Yorke Peninsula with the gorgeous Snap Happy and the beautiful TheDame. We then met up with a great group of people doing what we do best - CACHE!!!Today we attended a CITO and then went off to complete the Siren of the Seas geo-art, find a few other caches in the area and we then finished with The Big Question series. What a fantastic series The Big Question is - the caches were a variety of hides and the puzzles certainly kept us on our toes.We cached with CPWanderer, GizmosGang, Mogni, SirSpectre, JJS2, TK2, Plesiosaur22, TubbyBooBoo, JeffEddy, Martini989, Tweety2, TravelinBees, AllisterW, Northstar76, Superman22, LiB, Earthlight, Shandyk, SpiderMonkeysMum and FrogHoppin. To save room in the log books our caching name today was "Siren Seekers" = "SS". Thanks so much for taking the time to place this series for us to enjoy finding.A fav point from me to you on the first of the series.
I have been under the pump at work and needed a relaxing few days to reduce my stress levels and improve my mood. What better way to do this, than a huge geocaching weekend with old and new friends. Powertrials and many other caches were tackled and signed as either mystery randoms or Siren Seekers (SS). Thanks to all that joined in the fun of events, puzzle solving to make this possible and the planners who got us organised. Thanks to YPGeocachers from mogni
What a great Sunday had driving the back roads after a week of solving puzzles. I managed to solve a couple! TFTC YPGeocachers, really enjoyed this series. Signed as siren seekers.
Found after the Clean Up Paskeville Sports oval CITO. The siren of the sea geoart was found with a flash mob of cachers ( about 20 ). Then we had a bbq lunch at the CITO site and those cachers that hadn't found " The Big Question " geoart found this series. All caches in this series where found. Found with Mogni and JJ52. This weekend it was off to do the Abandoned Railway Sidings/Stations series both in Port Wakefield and also the Abandoned Railway Sidings/Stations trail between Moonta and Kandia plus any other caches that we passed along the way, plus JJ52 was hosting a event in Moonta for her 20,000 cache. It was a busy Saturday day and night, since we went caching after the event in the dark as well. Sunday started with co-hosting a CITO event at Paskeville early in the morning then meeting up with about 20 other teams and doing the Siren Of The Sea geo art then a early lunch and then moving on to do the The Big Question geo art with the remaining teams that haven't already done it. Then it was time to drive home only stopping for a couple more caches. No snakes were sighted but i did get nearly a dozen bug/ant bites over 3 different gz's and stung by a bee in the chest. For the first time in a very, very, very long time i didn't need to replace any full log sheets ( nano log sheets don't count, do your own maintenance ). A very, very tiring weekend given the amount of km's either walked or pedaled but a good weekend away. Surprisingly the weather was a lot better than expected not to hot or cold given the thunder storms either this week.
With the mermaid finished, the big question was..discussed, planned and executed. We ended up halfway home, so we made our finds and continued on from there. We enjoyed all the different hides and sizes in this series. A lot of work goes into these, we appreciate everyones efforts.A favourite point for the whole series. Thankyou to all involved.
What a day out!! Started with a CITO at Paskeville with many from the previous nights dinner event in Moonta. Many others had driven over from Adelaide for a fun day out. Logged as SS Favourite point on this one for the series (although I have dropped them on some others too and the puzzle. It was the first one I could solve. Gotta love a smiley face on the map. Thankyou YP geocachers for placing and maintaining it. TNLNSL
Yesterday I headed off on my own to the Yorke Peninsula to find some caches of interest, mostly published since my last visit. After getting down as far south as Pondolowie Bay in the Innes National Park, I headed north again and ended up at the event in the pub at Moonta for dinner before camping nearby. This morning it was off to the early CITO event at Paskervilke, then I teamed up with FeatherWaite to complete the Big Question geoart puzzle series. We managed to complete them all without any trouble and in good time. We were surprised to be the second finders in quite a few of them. All of the caches were found in good condition, as you would expect given the recent publication, and at good coordinates.Afterwards, FeatherWaite and I went out separate ways and I headed back towards Adelaide in a round-a-bout way, chasing some more caches of interest and intending to camp out again somewhere tonight. The weather is great, so I will try to make the most of it!Thanks YPGeocachers for the cache and the puzzle series.
Found today as a group . Log signed as SS. Had fun locating the caches and solving puzzles over several weeks. This definitely was a group effort today. Loved this series. TFTC
What a gorgeous day to be caching. Found while out caching with a group we call the siren seekers. Teams included CPWanderer, GizmosGang, Mogni, SirSpectre, JJS2, TK2, Plesiosaur22, TubbyBooBoo, JeffEddy, Martini989, Tweety2, TravelinBees, AllisterW, Northstar76, Superman22, Goodluck, SnapHappy, TheDame, LiB, Earthlight, Shandyk, SpiderMonkeysMum and FrogHoppin. Log was signed as SS. Thank you for the series YPGeocachers.
Out and about buzzing over the top of Yorkes. This cache was found as a group- SS. We cached up and down, in and around rocks with many caches located and signed.Mrs Bee only had one mishap of stumbling backwards over rocks! She also had some yummy scones with home made jam to end the day, what a way to end the dayA fave added for the series
After completing the siren geo art Mrs frog set off with a group to tackle the big question series while Mr frog put his feet up and readied a BBQ, no big answers but all caches found on good condition with many hands and eyes, caches signed SS, loved the puzzles some really gave the grey matter a workoutTFTC YPGeocachers
Traveled to the Copper Triangle and the Mid-North for a weekend of caching. Drove up via Roseworthy through to Balaklava on the Saturday, on a very convoluted route to search for caches along the way, before heading across for the dinner event at Moonta. Camped out nearby for the night and attended the early morning CITO in Paskeville, then toured the back-roads around Bute to complete The Big Question series with e.gregory1. Spent the rest of the Sunday around Snowtown and Lochiel before heading for home. Thanks for the cache YPGeocachers!
What a great day it was. Working with quite few teams today the team name is siren seekers. Put a photo of all the names on here. Thanks for place these. What a fun day but now Im so tired. Connor_2011 was with me too.
Easy little cache, this one. One of the last for the day, just one more to go. Found with Sarge5556 tftc
A colleague and I got too solving these last night, they're not your usual power trail solves!None of them quick solves, even if knowing the solve method straight up! It's the kinda puzzles I miss seeing from the Yorkes Maestro! We decided to come for a drive this arvo, after the morning CITO. Unfortunately my solving buddy couldn't come...Gotta love the uniqueness of each cache, from the cache page, the solve, and the hides vary in size and location too. Topped off individualised logbooks and cache containers. All we found were found easily with spot on co-ords and were all *FTF*'s save for one.TNLNSL Thanks guys.
This series dropped in the middle of a busy time for me, but I picked off the easier ones and headed out tonight hoping for some golden glory.First to log on line at 6 pm, but second to find. Still happy with that! thank you for the cache placement and maintenance YPGeocachers
