Another adventure for the weekend, this time with earthlight and LB. We are heading to Port Hughes to catch up with friends, attend an evening event and of course finding some caches along the way. This was our first stop. The last time I visited here I was with LB who was collecting and archiving a cache very near here.TFTC KillrrhubarbKeep smiling
Found with LB and Jlly as we headed to Port Hughes.Windy and hot early this morning. A great area for a cache.TFTC
Easy! I would like meet the owner of this fantastic housse!Thank you for the cache! Kiss from Belgium <3
After a trip up to do the Big Question Mark with OZGrumpy and Astro we stopped here for a brief leg stretch on the way back south. A walkway that goes nowhere, except to a cache, thats an expensive cache.
Thanks Killrrhubarb for placing this cache and for the ongoing maintenance. Find #10853 on 9/11/2024 at 5:23PMThree of us headed north to collect a few smileys. Our target was the BigQ and also collect anything else we found along the way. Signed logs as TOAD (Team Ozgrumpy Astro doineedthis). A great day out, Thanks to all the COs for their time and effort.
A very pretty setting.A few hungry people by the looks in those boats.A nice stretch of the legs on the way home after answering a few questions.A fun little loop with driver doineedthis and OZGrumpy to clean up a few dots that had appeared. THE BIG QUESTION series was the main target today. These caches saw us soak up the KM and try and figure which was the most efficient route. We got there in the end. These caches were signed as TOAD (Team Ozgrumpy Astro doineedthis)., A lot of effort has gone into these caches. Impressive. Love your work. Found this cache on the ground and put it where I assumed it should be? There was nothing to secure it so I found a bit of wood. Hoping the cache will stay put. Love the characters that are a part of this fishing group in Pt Wakefield! Those two skeletons in the chairs are having a great time. TftC
I agree with a previous sign, very surprised it hasnt taken a tumble. Someone obviously has a sense of humour around here and although Halloween is on the next week I get the feeling this is here yeah round.
We enjoyed a day travelling the northern Yorke Peninsula area, comparing the crops with other areas we have visited recently.Certainly StartlingTFTC
After a big part of the day was taken up with the Siren geoart and the big question we headed towards home, decided to see the spooky stuff by torchlight, nice display on the water, cache was a quick find, surprised irt hasn't blown away by now in the spot we found it, cache creep perhapsTFTC Killrrhubarb
Walked down the board walk to this one. We looked around and then found it. Someone has a good sense of humor. Found with Mogni and JJ52. This weekend it was off to do the Abandoned Railway Sidings/Stations series both in Port Wakefield and also the Abandoned Railway Sidings/Stations trail between Moonta and Kandia plus any other caches that we passed along the way, plus JJ52 was hosting a event in Moonta for her 20,000 cache. It was a busy Saturday day and night, since we went caching after the event in the dark as well. Sunday started with co-hosting a CITO event at Paskeville early in the morning then meeting up with about 20 other teams and doing the Siren Of The Sea geo art then a early lunch and then moving on to do the The Big Question geo art with the remaining teams that haven't already done it. Then it was time to drive home only stopping for a couple more caches. No snakes were sighted but i did get nearly a dozen bug/ant bites over 3 different gz's and stung by a bee in the chest. For the first time in a very, very, very long time i didn't need to replace any full log sheets ( nano log sheets don't count, do your own maintenance ). A very, very tiring weekend given the amount of km's either walked or pedaled but a good weekend away. Surprisingly the weather was a lot better than expected not to hot or cold given the thunder storms either this week.
A weekend away was planned with sir_spectre and mogni to the Yorke Peninsula to complete the Abandoned Railway Sidings caches then meeting up with others to tackle the new mermaid geo art and then the new Big Question caches. It was a busy but fun weekend with a couple of events thrown in and lots of caches found along with me getting to my 20,000 milestone. We had perfect weather and the dirt roads had mostly dried out after the big storm during the week. All in all a successful couple of days. After finishing the Abandoned Sidings caches nearby we came to find this new one. Had a nice walk on the boardwalk and looked at all the "fishermen" in their boats. The cache was soon found and the log stamped. Thanks for the cache Killrrhubarb..
Quickly located. Hope something like this without cammo lasts! Thanks for the hide
Stopped by on my way north. Nice spot, and spooky at night! The co-ords had me in the water, but I found cache on the ground!Put back closest to where it may have fallen from at these co-ords... **S34 11.009 E138 08.769**TNLNSL Thanks
On way to Adelaide for an appointment, normally I wouldn't come this way but for a FTF it's worth it. Found at 11.42am, a bit tricky but still easily found, tftc.
