Was great to meet a few new friends and of course Injuryman. Thanks for putting this one on!
There is a building on the jetty I didn't know about, come down to the next jetty at S 35 17.786 E 149 08.032
Not normally in Canberra on the weekend, it was a good opportunity to duck down to the lake for a coffee and a chat. Thanks for the event injuryman
I started my day with a set of Labs wandering around the inside of the Hyatt Hotel. It was fun to see some spots I had not been to before. The markets by the lake made for a harder parking exercise than expected, but it was still early. I wandered down to the lake to join in the event. It was nice to have a large shed to gather in and talk business and determine that a large part of the community is away this weekend. It was then time to head up and have a look at the newish Tee fishing cache nearby before heading home for the day. Thanks for the cache injuryman49719.1 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & 2012 Egypt A#236**Albida**
It'd been a hot minute since I'd seen the CO so it was good to head over to this event once I'd met up with EthisEthat in Civic and caught the (free!) bus out here together. One stop was made at the snazzy new sculpture en route and we were over to the event where a table of cachers had already gathered in the shady area.A few more folks trickled in as various comedy & light entertainment programs both old and new were discussed, and then we joined the small, very slightly westbound contingent to grab a cache before I had to catch the bus back in time for work! Thanks to injuryman for hosting this event!
It was a spontaneous and very last minute decision to attend the event today. Lovely to catch up with familiar faces and fellow geocachers. Thanks injuryman for hosting this today. Always a lovely location hereDomsky ??
A home to Canberra to Wagga to home, overnight loop trip. I finished work on Friday afternoon and filled up the Ute drove over to Canberra. Along the way I made one stop off and found an AL which had been on the to-find-list for far too long. KFC for dinner tonight. After my night sleep, I left the motel early and went and got Bfast. I then headed over to Old Parliament House which is near todays first event. I found as many caches as possible before driving over to the parking area for the event. Ill be back to get the rest that I didnt find, at some point. After finding a parking spot, which took forever, I headed over to the event location. I was the first to arrive and the first to leave. It was great to see everyone again and have all talk geo. While leaving the event, most of the rest of the group decided on finding the new cache near the parking area. I signed it first and that was because I was headed to Wagga for another event. I said goodbye and headed off for my drive to Wagga. I arrived just about 20 minutes after the second event started. That was a good trip to Wagga. For lunch I had an 'Outback Parmi'. It was great to see everyone again and have all talk geo. Then I started in the home bound direction which took me along some back roads to a new cache in the middle of nowhere. A FTF on this cache and now time to get home. TB visit. A big thanks to the CO for adding this cache to game for the Geocaching community to enjoy. TFTEs and TFTCs! Joint *FTF* - I arrived first at GZ and saved some seating. It wasn't long until the CO and other attendees started arriving. All talk geo was had and was great to catch up with everyone. This especially included the CO which I hadn't seen since... I don't remember when. I headed off about 10:30am because I needed to get to Wagga but lunch time. Though everyone decided on finding the new cache which wasn't far from the car park. So we found this as a group and I said goodbye to everyone and then headed off. Thanks so much for hosting
Nice to see the CO back in town and catch up with has happened in the last few months. Nice to meet the father as well. Very busy around here today but used the chace and bought something yummy at the market stalls on the way out. All the best up north and finish that degree as soon as possible. Thank you injuryman for putting this event on and organizing it all.
Attended with minniek and quite a few of the locals. And a Joint *FTF* as well !We were in town on non-caching business (What????) and managed to find the time and car parks to visit this event. Nice to catch up with the CO after quite a while. Alas after about 5 minutes we had to continue on our way. See you all again soon. Thanks injuryman !!
Thanks for having us!What a wonderful day it was! Sunny and peaceful, perfect welcome back weekend for us! And thanks for the joined [FTF]I did find the event before buckoraider so that counts for something ??
A most beautiful location to enjoy a catch up with many especially since finding out that injuryman no longer lives in Canberra. Sad to find out BUT great to catch up like this at an event knowing that we will still stay in touch. The grandkids enjoyed the water nearby collecting seaweed (fresh water weed?) with sticks as it floated by. Half expected one of them to jump in, or push the other, it was great to know that they had fun and stayed dry. Ended up staying for more than an hour before heading of to Questacom with the grandkids.Wonderful to see you again injuryman and looking forward to a catchup next time you are in town. Safe travels my friend. TFTE injuryman.
Such a lovely day to be out by the lake here with friends, and of course great to catch up with you again injuryman! The group [FTF] was a lovely bonus. A most excellent event!
This event was a great motivation to get out of the house with the geopup on a beautiful morning. Thanks for hosting.
It was very pleasant sitting here in the sunshine by the lake! Thank you for organising this event and for the {FTF}, injuryman ??
First Canberra event in almost three months! So long to get along and catch up with a few folk...was long overdue. Great to see the CO too, who seems to be enjoying Brisbane. Thanks for organising!
