Logs
About fifteen years ago was the last time I was at this rocky outcrop with my youngest two boys and their Cub Scout Pack experimenting with abseiling as Cubs can. Today I reflected on my long friendship with Jenny over half of those fifteen years and all the adventures we shared. I still remember them, think of them often and wish I could go back to a simpler time. TFTC.
Great reason to place this cache. Beautiful words and I love the sentiment! Lovely Lady! Love the views too. Tftc fav from me
Nice walk with dog in the late afternoon, with cool weather. Nicely hidden, signed and replaced. Tftc
A very nice way of thanking such a nice person as Jenny. We enjoyed our 600m walk to GZ in misty conditions. Very nice views from GZ and a very good hiding spot. TFTC wshoeii
#7711- FTF @ 7.14 am. As I was heading off to bed last night I saw a few new caches pop up, so of course, I took a look to see where they were. The closest wasOh, a cache with my name on it! I still didnt think more of it until I started reading the description and was surprised to be actually reading about myself. wshoeii, a mate of mine had placed this one Just for me. I sat there reading it, tears streaming down my face, memories of my almost 15 years of caching flooding back to me. This was such a sweet and lovely gesture. So, how could I not head out there first thing this morning to find this cache. With the rain having cleared, I woke early today, having had a great nights sleep and hubby, who no longer caches, said hed come for a walk with me.After a false start with the car GPS taking us a valley away, I did a recalculation and headed down Lake Rd, parked the car at the locked gate and we made our way down the fire trail. We were only half a km away at GZ-a spot I had never been to despite living in the mountains for 30 years- with some amazing views across the valley. A short search and the cache was found and the trackackable retrieved to activate. We took in the views and the serenity and headed back home. So blessed to have this wonderful bushso close to home. And a FTF also- something I rarely get these days. Whoo hoo! A favourite from me!This is why I love caching! A recent geocaching post asked what are your geocaching goals? For me, its not about the numbers or filling the grids, its about getting out, doing what you can, pushing yourself to do things within reason, seeing new places, catching up with friends and enjoying yourself. So thanks mate, wshoeii, I appreciate your cache for me and your sentiments. Cheers to many more fun times.
