What a fantastic event, perfectly timed at sunset on a warm night. These events are the best! Thanks for the event the hamfish.
I had to keep the tradition alive and attend this event Beautiful evening shared with like minded people. Thanks for organising
Walked all around the outside before finding where everyone had left their gear. So it was off with my gear and into the water. Said hello to people and then after a while swam back. Many thanks for the event.
Earlier in the week I dug out my steamer and springsuit for this event, but when the forecast of 35 degrees came out, they were both returned to the cupboard.By 8 pm, it was somewhat cooler, and with some trepidation, a group of us entered the water and stood waste deep with the CO until just before the chosen time when we headed out to the platform. Once out of the water, l warmed up while chatting on all things geocaching. Then it was back to land, dry off and warm up and then off to the motel. Thanks to the Hamfish for organising the event.
This event couldn't have fallen on a better day. It was incredible to put faces to many of the cachers in the local area. What a great choice for our very first event, thanks a bunch hamfish!
Count me in. Hopefully the Geeelong Revival Motoring Festival doesn't make it too hard to get there.
Perfect day for it!Our man on the ground Sims_family reports that parking is already very scarce around the area, due to the Revival Festival. Please allow plenty of time for finding a park. See you all soon!
There is still some parking along here S 038 08.830' E 144 22.557'And the carpark at these coords is completely empty. S 038 08.876' E 144 22.678'
Thanks Hamfish for yet another enjoyable swim/event at this location. The weather was ideal and a swim was a great way to cool off after a warm day. Great to see so many teams as well.
I came down to G Town after work to think about going for a 8.00pm swim for an event at Eastern Beach as I had been talked into doing this by Roaming Howie.I will see what the weather is like at the time as to whether or not I go in and get wet.Arrived early and managed to snag a park and the area slowly emptied out while I was there.Went for a walk and found some bollards and eventually headed back and caught up with a few teams at the cafe.We looked around and realised that there were teams already in the water. So it was now or never and in I went. The water was cool at first but it was quite refreshing after a hot day at work.A great idea for an event and I enjoyed the swim.Thank the hamfish TFTEC.
What a amazing day for it. The weather this evening was just perfect. It was a bit of a shock when we entered the water but nothing like the winter swim event. High tide meant even I needed to swim a fair bit which I haven't had to do here in the past.An awesome turn out and a wonderful evening eventThank you the hamfish for hosting
Down to Geelong specifically for this event. I arrived in town around 1600. How will I fill in the 4 hours until the event kick off. Simple, a stroll around the foreshore, picking up a few caches and AdLabs along the way. By 1730, I headed into a floating restaurant for a feed of fish and chips. Afterwards, I headed around to the posted where I bumped into Posums, then Muzza and The Sims_family. Approaching event time, we made our way into the water, brrrrrrrrrr. Did I mention brrrrrrrrrr. The boys retreated upwards to a warmer place. A group of now wet cachers made their way out to the platform where the event finally got officially underway. New cachers met, geochitchat completed then back into the water to make our way back to shore. Thanks the hamfish for hosting this event, enhancing the game board and adding to our enjoyment.
dalerious says that he will bring his whistling idiot along for an evening dip!Awesome idea the hamfish holding this event in such an awesome way.It appears my hint, hint, nudge, nudge moment worked, but not even I would have dreamed up an awesome combination for an event, as you just have.See you there .
