I solved this rather entertaining puzzle very soon after publication - it took me less than a minute to identify the topic. One source answered all but one of the questions, and another answered the remaining one so no problems there. Shame about the deaths but they were self-inflicted and a good example of human foolishness. Came for a walk this morning from home, the GPSr was leading me to a spot about 5 metres away where others had obviously searched also. Nothing to be found there, so I used a bit of "cacher's instinct" and found the very nicely constructed hide a short while later. Signed log, thanks for the cache! Worth a favourite point
(10479) Quickly solved this one as the subject interested me. An entertaining read of the facts of this one. A quick find and a well crafted hide. Thanks Wicm for taking the time to place the cache and for bringing me here.
An interesting puzzle. The resource I found didn't answer one of the questions but I was able to work out the location anyway. By the time I had done that Yeti had already found it so no point rushing out.Today is a micro dot day however and also to tick off first week finds this is an ideal candidate. What's not so ideal is the parking situation - even more dire since the latest streetview imagery, but I did find a park close by (if you look as though you belong you can get away with some things ).A short walk, made tougher for me due to still recovering from my recent illness, but managed to haul myself up to GZ and started to have a look. Hmm nothing yet, maybe from that angle...nope, back to square one... I wonder... ah, yes! Nicely constructed hide. All good here, and thank you to Wicm for the placement of your Mystery Cache.Find: #7413
What an interesting and tragic story! Enjoyed reading about the event, and made a quick solve. This afternoon I parked up nearby and had a hunt around. It wasn't a very quick find, but when I eventually spotted the well-constructed hide I was super impressed. FP for sure. TFTC!
It's funny how the D rating for puzzle is extremely dependent on the CO and I have been unable to solve many D3s. I don't really have a mental metric for how hard a Wicm D3 is but it wasn't too bad - or was it? Because my chosen resource did indeed give me the correct answers for all but "y" and somehow I knew that was the digit that was wrong. So I successfully guessed it. The location looked like my kind of environment so pretty much the day after solving I parked up the road a bit and walked down to what turned out be a great place to hide a cache. Peered around a bit and something suspicious caught my eye quite quickly. Nicely done and good instructions on how to return it correctly. It's been a while since I've encountered a cache that I thought was worth an FP but this certainly is. TFTC.
[FTF] @ 12:30Ohh, another new cache in the area. Also, am I starting to see a theme develop (or I just seeing things as a result of the theme). Some interesting information from the research required here, but ultimately no problem getting the data (thanks to the CO for making the question clear and unambiguous) and the checker agreed. Since I was about to head out the door for a drive around anyway, I did just that and headed towards the cache location. Spent a few minutes trying to determine the best place to park, and then getting to the cache location, but no real challenges on a Saturday. The nicely crafted hide was easily spotted, but I suspect it will get trickier as it weathers in.>Whiskey doesn't ask silly questions. Whiskey understands.---Thanks to Wicm for placing and maintaining this cache. I enjoy each and every cache I find, and it is only with Geocachers like this creating them and placing them out in the world that this wonderful game continues.[DGSc-Fast] tagging to help me generate a list for GC30AD8 - DGSc Challenge.
Solved on the road using a couple of sources + some guessing. Found the nicely crafted hide after a brief search. Interesting story
