We were hoping it wasn't over the edge, it wasn't. We were greeted with a blank log sheet also. Big thanks to Dakar for placing this cache. Cache number 9740 on October 2, 2024
Found after a bit of scrambling. Clues and coordinates didn't really match, but found it before starting our hike. TFTC
Chewbacca72 and I are traveling during 4 months through Singapore, Australia and New Zealand. A few caches that are on our way should not be missing. This cache is one of them. Many thanks to Dakar for hidingBest regards, searchersab
Didn't save the coordinations for offline use before I got there and ran out of time to look for it without
On our Australian trip . After started for some days in Darwin we are on the road to Perth now .On the Road after Katherine, Edith Falls, Kunnurra, Bungles Bungle, Emma Falls, El Questro, Mitchel Falls, Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Bell Gorge, Tunnel Creek and Windjana Gorge .Now again on the sealed road again. From Derby, Broome, Port Hedland, Karratha and now to Karijini NP .Nice Fern Pool .On the way back we looked again for that one... after a longer seach we spotted it in the danger zone .You habe to climb over the fence in direction to the abyss to go there and always a lot of people are watching. I think it should be moved to the other side.TFTC# 17'212
Today I finally have time to log caches again Thanks to all for placing and maintaining the caches
Found this cache whilst on our two month adventure throughout central Australia and remote parts of WA.Really enjoyed the walk down to the bottom, could this cache before setting off. Thanks to all the COs for adding to our adventure. TFTC
Found on a trip to Western Australia from Adelaide with FeatherWaite. We camped at Karijini National Park last night. This morning we did some of the gorge walks. We then headed further east to find some other caches of interest before returning to the park to camp for the evening. The cache was spotted quickly once we left the path. Im pleased it was early morning and there were very few people about - retrieving this one could be tricky when the area is busy. The cache and contents are in good condition. Thanks Dakar for the cache.
Found with e.gregory1 on a trip from Adelaide to north-western Western Australia for four or so weeks. After camping out along the road between Tom Price and Karijini, we traveled out to spend the next two nights at Karijini National Park. We spent the day visiting the sights around this amazing landscape, hiking the gorges, sightseeing the scenic lookouts and finding a few caches along the way. Very nice to find one of the older caches in a scenic location. Thanks for the cache Dakar!
Did this very early in the morning so did the deed, getting off the track----------------------Decided to do a long road trip, flying in from Canberra, starting and finishing the drive in Port Hedland. It was a long day of flights, followed by 7 days of lots of kilometres. I stopped at every 'point of interest' along the way, I wanted to miss nothing! Earthcaches, Virtuals & AL's are always very good waypoints for interesting things as well. Every night I downloaded a bunch of podcasts and these made the kilometres fall away. This was the first outback road trip I have done where I saw more emu's than kangaroos. The wild camels walking in the desert were also very cool to see. My trusty swag served me very well.
TFTC. Needed to go a bit beyond the defined area. New steps make it a little trickier. But we got there.
Back on holidays chasing the sun, travelling around and collecting a few caches on our way. Found your cache on the return trip after being unsuccessful on the decent to fortescue falls due to muggles and my own eyesight. The return trip after a great swim the cache was easily spotted from the steps with the red spice jar lid standing out. It was a quick retrieval which could have a higher d/t rating but easy to retrieve and stay safe. Glad to find this old cache. Thanks for adding to the enjoyment of holiday.
We spied the likely spot from the steps then made sure Noone was coming before making a quick find. Signed the log and returned to the steps before anyone came.
Might need to reassess where this one is located to make it easy for retrieval with the new steps being put in.
Thanks for the cache such a great National Park.

Thanks for the cache such a great National Park.
Missed ya - Got sprung by a muggle who asked if I'd droped something!
Had to leave it.

WHAT A CACHE!! Walked past here yesterday and saw it from the stairs but way too many people around. Came back this morning @7:30 not a single person there, a couple of acrobatic moves later and success! Tftc, absolute stunner of a location!
Wow, a geocache from 2002! Definately the oldest cache I found so far. And the place is great, easily spotted from the stairs, but to grab it somewhat riskier. Terrain I would rate higher, 4 or even 4.5 or 5.

Wow - just noticed this is a golden oldie indeed! And clearly the impressive highly engineered infrastructure (ie steps etc) has gone in after placement. Initially wondered if GPS was wandering so made sure coast was clear of muggles before going out there. Happy to sign the cache that beamed ‘here I am’ Lucky us are staying out for 6 days so plenty of time to wander here at different times of the day - love the magic of Karijini. We are 3500 + kms from home base so it’s totally stunning to be here in this ancient landscape. TFTC - a definite FAVE for longevity. Left 2X TBs

We went to Fortescue Falls for a late afternoon swim and stopped by to find this cache in the growing dark. I'm not a keen nighttime geocacher but I'd brought along a good torch so had no problems. We found the original oregano container and didn't bother to look for the mint tin since it was getting darker by the minute.
Thanks for find #4472

There was quite a pear pressure from the (elderly) group in which we travel, not to go after this cache, but the sight was too nice, not to remember this than wirh a yellow smiley
What a magnificent area! Loved our stay here, and loved finding this cache, great fun!
Finally catching up with some more logging!
Another great trip around this country of ours, hiking, swimming and flying through clouds was all part of the agenda. The Pilbara is Mrs Parkacruz old stomping ground so it was magical to be back home. Mrs Parkacruz went around the cliff face and carefully skimmed across the cliff face. she shouts out I have the original one, an old spice jar so we added our name and are happy to say we came up trumps here and walked away with a smiley TFTC

Took a bit of hunting but we found it! Think we found the original cache - an oregano leaves jar - but couldn’t find the mint tin it was replaced with. Tftc!
Replaced today with painted mint tin in approx gz. On our 2nd tour of WA now slowly heading north on our way home to Cairns. Did your Fortescue in Karijini today. 7 March 2022 11:19 am Tyfc Dakar total caches now 4436 .
I wonder if this cache was placed before the staircase. Didn’t want to risk going under the stairs to the cliff edge.
Sorry to hijack your cache Dakar. I'm looking for a cacher who is visiting Karijini in the near future that could take some coords down for me at a location in Dales Gorge I would be eternally thankful - send me a message if you think you can help TIA
Found with kiwinic on our annual northern holiday. We found this one a few days back but with no service around Karijini we decided to log them once home. A bit of a search here but we found it in the end. TFTC
Travelling through the Pilbara and soaking up the sights. Heading off from Tom Price to the Tognolini Pass free camp and dropped in here for a swim.
I have been here three times but never looked for the cache. Today, I was very determined to find it. I jumped the fence and started high but then dropped down the terraces to locate it.
This cache is within the oldest active 100 caches in WA, so I am wrapped to claim a smilie!
Dakar, I found Fortescue in Karijini today. Thanks for placing and maintaining

SO many people! Really hard, used the kids as shelter and made a quick grab and quickly scribbled onthe log and shoved it back! TFTC A magnificent place
Was within 13m of this cache and after reading other logs and confirming my suspicions that I needed to get under the lookout to reach the cache I decided not to try. I think there are plenty of places to hide this cache without going into areas that are off the track or a bit risky. It is also a high muggle area making it harder to grab.

Too many people here today. I even asked the ranger if she knew where it was so that I could make a quick grab but she didn't know..
A delayed log Was lucky it was quiet enough for a hunt. Safe enough for those worried (no need to go anywhere near cliff edge). For those a lil more adventurous. Sweet spot a short climb down under lookout. Tftc
TFTC!! I got a scrape and geobryce58 got a nasty cut. But worth it for the cache
A bit of a clamber but found it. Fern Pool and Fortescue Falls were amazing. Great spot to relax
DNF the other day. Read previous comments about going under the staircase and did not feel safe sending kids under there to the rock ledge where we suspect it is
Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply visiting the Karijini NP.
On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.
Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.
Thanks to 'Dakar' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Fortescue in Karijini' and the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.
Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

From 23.09 until 24.11.2019 Stadibast and I spent our holidays in Australia.
During the first four weeks we drove with a camper van from Darwin to Perth along the West coast and its amazing national parks, in which we made several hiking tours.
After that we flew to the wonderful green Tasmania for a roundtrip lasting two weeks.
For the last three weeks we went back to the continent and followed the South-East-Coast from Melbourne to Sydney.
We had impressive nine weeks in Australia, in which we hiked through various national parks, visited interesting sights and met many friendly and helpful people.
Thanks to all owners for setting and maintaining their caches.

Some bloke who was on a bike with a name tag Bob told us we couldn't go down the side and to stick to the path. So we couldnt get this cache.

Group of people: “Did you drop something, mate?”
Me: “Nah, I’m good!”
I guess it was a bit busy and people were wondering why I crossed the stairs to get to GZ.
Too bad!

Another bloody DNF. Would i come back to Karijini....YES..would I come in school holidays...NO
Touring from Tasmania and staying in Dales campground. Walked over to see the Falls and pool. Had to scramble under the steel stairs to get cache. Tftc
Nice day walking through the gorges. Karijini is a very spectacular place TFTC
Couldn’t get coordinates to settle, tried numerous times for this one on consecutive days but still no joy. Beautiful spot though.
Wow, it was hot today, 47 Celsiusgrad
But: What a amazing Place and View in this Karijini-Nationalpark!! It was an Adventure pur!
The Box was not so easy to find ! But the coords were correct! Thank you so much for this Cache!

Did a rather long search but the GPS kept taking us too
close to the edge at GZ. For a 72 year old this was a risk
not worth taking. We really enjoyed the Fortescue Falls
and the Fern Pool. Even though we did not get a smilie
we loved our experience.
Thanks Dakar

Miss GoodyGoody would have given up on this one. Thanks to the lost glasses scenario though, we ventured off the steps and made the find. Thanks for placing this all those years ago.
Found on a road trip with Team Outnabout taking in the Meeka races and places of interest along the way from Geraldton to Newman including a day trip to Karijini National Park. Should have done this one prior to the long decent prior to working up a sweat. Great view. A fav point from us for a magnificent cache location. TFTC
pug002 DNF 19/8/2018, we looked for the plastic bag with the log book but just could not spot it. Thanks anyway Dakar
Went down and grabbed the cache at the bottom and then climbed back out to grab this one. Easier said than done though and we had to play the waiting game here for a long time. We worked out where this one was going to be but a constant stream of muggles going up and down stopped us from being able to get it. Didn't want to explain why we were going to be where we probably shouldn't have been.
After about half an hour of waiting the coast was clear of ascenders so Mr Beetle grabbed it while I waylaid the descenders approaching until he was safely back on the path.
Because of the rush and the fact he didn't have his glasses on I think the signing of this one may be little more than an illegible scribble. Our apologies for that.
Thanks.

On a big round trip, heading up to my sisters in Newman and then across to Karajini Np, Tom Price and then to my Dad's in Carnarvon, to Shark bay and Monkey Mia, to Gerardton and back though Perth to Mandurah. Tftc.

This was a bit scary. We thought no it would not be there! Luckily mid afternoon, no-one was about, so we were able to scrabble about. Thanks for putting a cache here. TFTC
Great place for a cache! Found after a short search, and after waiting for muggles to move on..... amazing views from up here! Only just arrived in Karijini today so going to do the loop track and into Fern Pool tomorrow TFTC
TFTC nice easy find. Need to go early in morning when there are no muggles around. Awesome location great views

Great view of the falls. Walked down for a closer look and explored the rest of the gorge.
Beautiful view from this cache. Many muggles but many photographic opps to disguise caching purpose. Found with the Fabulous Panda. TFTC
Today's main purpose was visiting Weano Gorge and Hemersly Gorge, But unfortunately we couldn't reach the gorge of Hamersley with a 2W drive, wich was quite a dissapointment. So plans were changed and we decided to drive to Dales Gorge which was normally planned for tomorow. The 2 pools in Dales Gorge were amazing! Even more exiting than Weano Gorge, We even saw a lot of sleeping bats in trees in the jungle part of the gorge! It was quite a hot day as usual so I jumped in the Fern pool to cool off!
