Have been there twice and couldn't find it, I emailed Quiet Plodder and he told me it was under some reeds near the log, I don't know if it's really missing but it is hard to find.
On the 'to do list' for some time, especially as the photogenic Red Cliffs just about overhang the location and sweep back toward the Gold Course. I arrived here, after spending the arvo (longer than planned) at Chirnside Mansion & its Grounds (what a superb place as I had never been there before), in near darkness and was more or less resigned to not finding this one as the eyesight (dodgy at the best of times) would be near irrelvant. Happily, a torch helped, though not after I was thinking, surely it's not in THERE! It was. The clue did not help as I could not see the hint anyway! Luckily the GPSr had a backlight function too. However, I was just pleased to have found the cache without walking into the River or tumbling down the steps. Thank you to 'maccamob' for another enjoyable caching experience - those Red Cliffs are sensational to photograph, even in twilight with a Tripod and with 'I assume it's there eyes to focus with'. Picked up the TB, as I thought it might be scared of the darkness! TQP
Found at 1600h by GeoDad + GeoGirls. Took tupperware badge and left orange pumpkin. Dropped TB. TFTC

Not completely a DNF more a could not access due to nearby fishing muggles! There was no way we could access GZ in a non-suspicious manner. Oh well this was just the start of our not-successful-caching-day!! Such a lovely spot. We'll be back. The lady fishing said she had recently caught good-sized bream. Maybe we should try that as well!
Went there but was unable to reach the cache due to a rather large snake sunning itself on the path. Will try again soon.
On a grand Geo day F1 and F2 were loving the great outdoors. Our travels brought us to this location. The river and the cliffs were stunning but I can't say the same for the locals who have decimated this area with their rubbish. If fellow cachers take a little away each visit we may be able to stem the tide, please help. TNLN TFTC

This was a really beautiful place but unfortunately we were unable to find this one today. We will try again when in the area. Thanks for bringing us here though.
Thanks for bringing us to a very pretty spot...except for the rubbish! Log very damp...could hardly write in log book, but the view was vey pretty, and always good to chalk up another find. TNLNSL
Well we thought its christmas day, beautiful weather, why not go and see if we could find some caches on the way through. This was a picturesque spot with the green grass in contrast with the red cliffs surrounding us. Dipped in two GC's. TNLN. Thanks for showing us a nice spot.
Nice walk to a spot we have fished before. Left: two wishing stones. Took: Winnie the Pooh toy
Plenty of people fishing here today. But they only had eyes for the river as we found the cache.
Thanks again maccamob.
Thanks again maccamob.
Found @ 6pm. Have been down here a few times in the past, took geo dog with us for a walk, he tried catching the small crabs at the waters edge.
Found the cache quite easily. We did notice the contents of the container were very wet, tried to dry it as best i could. Thanks. Took, barney figurine, and left "100 chip"

I'm not quite sure why this cache never found its way on to my 'to do' list on previous trips out this way. I was very keen to find it today before heading to my friends' place for dinner and decided I had enough time in the fading light. The cliffs were very impressive and the views magnificent, I only wish I'd worn longer pants to protect against those trees!
Many thanks,

Found today after a visit to the zoo. An interesting spot which hilights the health of this river system. Its struggling here... so many chemicals in the waters and so much rubbish and even human waste just near the cache. It was a great excuse to stop by here but if i had have come here looking for a nice river scene i would have been dissapointed. Luckly i was looking for a cache, not the river today
Thanks. TNLN

On the way home for a nice night at the mansion. I love these simple caches and great locations. TFTC
No luck on this one, but we thought we would do a log anyway. Not sure if it was just us not searching in the right places, or the curious fisherman nearby, or the fact that our GPS lead us to the remains of a tree that seemed to have been freshly felled.
The views at GZ were amazing and it made this one of our memorable and favourite cache finds for the day. Made our way to the cache site and spent a few minutes hunting in all the wrong places. Was wondering whether we were ever going to find it when younger member came up with the treasure. Happy smiles all round. Spent some time admiring the scenic views and taking some pics. Coincidently, our 100th find in New Zealand was called Redcliffs. This cache, Red Cliffs Too, shares a similar name and is our 99th Australian cache find and also 9th cache find of the day! Thanks for taking us here, maccamob.

Find #40 at 16:00 on a beautiful sunny afternoon. No one around to distract from the search. Shame about the rubbish though. The serenity, like in the movie "The Castle" was broken by the sounds of a passing speed boat and a Cessna doing circuits overhead, otherwise a great little place to sit and ponder. TNLNSL TFTC
Went for a days caching with Bushfire, VKC1SR and Geewok, to find some western suburbs caches. This was the fourth for the day. It's a pity about all of the garbage left about - there must be a lot people with no respect whatsoever for the environment. TNLN, TFTC.
10.15 Speedy Stamps,Geewok,VKC1SR and Bushfire decided that today we would like to put smiley faces on all caches between Werribee South and the West Gate Bridge. We didn’t quite make it but got very close.
Parked and made our way down the steps and then through the reeds to find our first maccamob cache today. The red cliffs are a sight that is worthy of a cache in this area. NI-NO and on returning to the cars I noticed a person looking at the location that we had just been to.
I said are you looking for something and he turned around and with GPS in hand said yes. It turned out to be Tackle Head from Altona Meadows who is fairly new to caching so introduced him to our crew and a caching chat and then we were on our way to the next cache. Thanks maccamob for the cache.

I have caught a lot a fish in this area . also a place where there has been a lot of filming for TV and comercials etc
What a great spot. Who would know as they are driving past Werribee going to Geelong and further south that these cliffs were here. To us a totally unreal place when we arrive here. We wended are way though the reeds to your cache which we found OK. Took TB left nothing. Thanks maccamob for the cache.
Came here with Monch's Mob who had recently done this cache. They stayed up the top while we retrieved the cache. There was quite a lot of movement in those rushes on the way there. Did the cache bizzo, and whilst on the way back a fisherman yelled down from the top that he'd seen tiger snakes in the spot we'd walked past earlier. So that's what all the movement was. Thank goodness we didn't have a closer encounter! Thanks for an interesting cache maccamob. Took spoons TB left Ngendo TB.
So there is where every piece of crap in the world winds up! Honestly, you'd think it'd be easier to just throw this junk into a bin rather than get it to this spot.
Possibly a very pretty spot in days gone by, but now it's a lot more "Children of the Corn" than "Field of Dreams". This would be a seriously scary place to be walking through in the dark.
The last entry in the log is from a group of fishermen who spotted the cache. They signed it, then left it fairly exposed. I'm fairly confident that it's not where it's supposed to be (i.e. can be easily seen from about 10m away), but I'm not sure which of the various nooks and crannies nearby that it should be hidden in. Left it pretty much where we found it.

Visited here twice while wife and I were down from the 'Gong staying at Werribee for the weekend. First time I got as far as the "well-worn path" and decided my footwear was inappropriate (leather soles weren't giving much traction). Came back 2 days later better prepared and think I got close to GZ but gave up due to presence of father and son fishing in close proximity to GZ. Maybe another time.
Found with Mud Rat Jnr at 7.10pm. Certainly need to watch your step, especially if it is dark. Looks like a pretty spot. Took carabeena left Indian. SL, TFTC

Sorry guys I forgot to write in my log. This cache shows a 1 star for terrain. One star typically refers to wheelchair accessable caches. Quite obviously a wheelchair couldn't get in here... Perhaps an extra half a star is required. Keep up the good work.
My first Melbourne find for the trip after an epic trip down the highway! The snake warning sign at the car park had me thinking twice but I headed down and after a decent search I found the cache. I nearly got torn up retrieving it though.

Found today by Mr Emu & Son @ 3.05 p.m. GAFF3. After seeing a successful visit logged here a little while ago, we decided to have another attempt at this cache. Much more successful than last time, with Son of Mr Emu spotting the cache within in minutes. Who knows what happened last time, because I thought we looked in this spot!
True to our word, we came prepared with gloves and a bag and collected as much rubbish as we could see from the area. A lot of bottles, cans and plastic bags were removed, although there is plenty more for others to do if they can get in amongst the bullrushes! When we got to the top of the stairs and saw the small rubbish bins we quickly sorted the rubbish from the recyclables before scouting around the carpark for more rubbish. By the time we left, we had our rubbish bag full of recycleables (which we took home to put in our recycle bin) - and the two small on-site bins were both half full with rubbish. A very satisfying feeling indeed to leave this great area looking a bit nicer. Hopefully a good bit of role-modelling by Dad too. Thanks very much for the cache maccamob - we had fun.

Second for the day. GPS seems to be playing up a bit today but finally settled down. Son is holding GPS and decides to make for bee-line down escarpment. The rest of us took the path. Plenty of fishermen, not many fish yet though, you know wrong time, tide, bait, etc. T hi-lighter and geocoin, L Alien. SL, TFTC
Mr Emu & Son are sad to report our second DNF. We had a pretty good look around, but the prickly environment and "& Son" having an extreme call of nature cut our visit short. Not nice to have another DNF, but more than made up for by the spectacular area you took us too. It was a real eye-opener for us, and like previous visitors we enjoyed the sight of the crabs on the mudbank, and the bright red cliffs. A photo opportunity for a future visit, I think.
You are definitely right about the potential for a CITO! It always amazes me that full beer bottles can be carried over hill and dale, but empty ones are much too heavy for the return journey. We are pretty new to this pastime, but I think we will need to kit up with gloves and bags in the future.
Thanks all the same maccamob for taking us to another interesting feature of Werribee.

They are stunning red cliffs too,a little bit of "Ayers rock" in colouring with the afternoon sun. With many previous logs suggesting a tough struggle ,Alansee and myself hit GZ and though it could be a 30 minute job.But after 2 mins ,the Farmers hit the booty in its well camouflaged location. We did the logs, enjoyed the views of a big group of tree planters across the river and were relieved to nab it quickly!Found at 5.00pm,TNLN and thanks for the challenge from the Butchard Gardens specialists!
Third go at this one although was hindered by muggles the first time. This time I was in the company of Farmers5 who appears to be able to smell a cache from 50 yards and in no time at all he called "got it"! I spent the next minute laughing in amazement at how easily he had done it. Its a lovely spot and I have spent time here before trying to take photos of those great cliffs. Thanks maccamob for another great cache. Especially now that I have got it.
Nice prickly time I had too. Thanks to pprasses hint I expanded search area and cahe found beore hands punctured further. I must wear thicker pants too and take gloves.
Pickupfamily Dad arrived at this one at 1745hrs, a superb spot I've never seen before. It was just the right time of day for a beautiful display. Unfortunately, I realised I was not prepared adequately for this cache, so decided to move on given the fading light and fading stamina. Thanks for bringing me here maccamob, will certainly be back.
This was the second of two caches we made a quick trip to Victoria to find. Needed them to complete the Fleet to Federation game! We did visit quite a few others along the way of course
Enjoyed the little stroll and views while in the area. Swapped a screwdriver for a dinosaur and the started the trip back to SA.
Cheers, hopefully our next visit to this area will be a longer one!

Found at 7.15pm GAFF3. We unsuccessfully looked for this cache in May last year and Cat even incurred an eye injury in the process. Today we were in the area so we plucked up our courage and decided to have another go at it. The sun was low in the sky and there was not a cloud in the sky. The setting was beautifull with the sun highlighting the red in the cliffs. We set off with not a soul around and started looking in exactly the same place we looked 19 months ago. After 10 minutes we widened our search area and look what turned up 8 metres away! Well within tolerance levels, we were glad to finally conquer this cache. Thanks maccamob Took: Car, Left: Lime ball.

Easiest find of the day although I did manage to cut my hand and arm in the process. Word of warning, look out for the thorns on the nearby bushes.
My eighth cache out of 23 for the day. Red slippery mud this should be called. There were lots of cars parked in the car park but the cache location was empty and no sign of anyone. I guess they no the best fishing spots. A prickly find. Thanks Maccamob.
Found at approx 1325. Although we didn't find any sentinels guarding the area there was a loopy fisherman in the area that wasn't exactly muttering to himself but rather the entire area around him!!! We kept clear and finally found the cache after meaning to go hear for almost 2 years now!!!

On a previous visit to this site in total darkness we decided to leave any sort of search until daylight, and we are glad we did.
On arriving at the location in daylight we were greeted by a spectacular site of red cliffs and a river meandering through it, and after a short walk arrived at the GZ.
Thank goodness for welding gauntlets and the cache was retrieved without a sctratch.

Thought I had found it many times, but all I did was increase my CITO count (took out two supermarket bags worth). Hope I did not make the cache too easy to find by the lack of garbage. It is amazing that the muggle users litter such a beautiful spot. Great Cliffs. Still scratching from the thorns though. Had gloves but should not have worn a t-shirt, maybe armor next time. I had never driven down past the big gates, it is a lovely spot.
