Came back to visit this one and it's completely destroyed.. just chunks of plastic and paper now...

Beautiful walk, unfortunately we went a way to the cache that would have made it a 5 terrain rating and when we finally got to the cache it had a big hole in it and everything was waterlogged. Still had lots of fun finding it.

Headed out this morning for this old school one. Nice walk up the dry creek and rocks but it was staring to get hot. A small bush bash and a quick find. The container is holed but dry thanks to the rock over but could do with some TLC. We completed the signing duties and re hid. TFTC

26-Sep-22
That was a proper ramble. Tftc

26-Sep-22
Didn't know what we were in for with this one, we had the dog with us so I had to stay 40m back from the cache as MitchDem made the ramble to find, TFTC

Cool

Thanks Hackberry Hiker for bringing me to this location and taking the time to hide and maintain this cache. I found the cache at 11:07:06. This was my Find 4 for today out of a Total number of 5 Finds and 0 DNF for for this Caching Outing. The cache was found in Good Condition and I signed the log and returned the cache as I found it.

This find brings my total number of Finds to 5682.Big Grin

24-Jul-22
Found it in good order, no real maintenance needed.

05-Sep-21
Quick find while out walking the dogs. Tftc

30-Aug-21
Wow! I never knew this was here. Just decided to go for a drive with no where in particular in mind and thought I’d just get the 2 caches that were here. The walk between the 2 got better and better following the stream and the waterfalls. And then a fun little bit of rock climbing and tricky path at the end. The damp and drizzle made the experience even better. TFTC 10/10

20-May-21
Out with Team Barritts on a huge days caching. Thanks to all the CO’s for placing and maintaining their hides for us to find. We visited some amazing places today.

20-May-21
What a fantastic spot, well worth the effort to get here. Another part of our great state that we would never have come to without Geocaching.

Cache in good condition and was easily found with spit on coordinates.

TFTC and a fav point from us.

15-Nov-20
Some fun rock climbing to get to this one, great views once at the top TFTC

19-Aug-20
Tough climb but got it in the end.

Add FP.

Spent the day out East of Perth in the hills region and out to Wundowie to grab a few caches.

Our main goal was the “olds cool 60” challenge. Which we had qualified for shortly after publication. We’ve made it our mission to find as many of these as possible of late, and a trip to the Kimberley helped knock over a few aswell.

We grabbed another oldie today a 2002 cache Nyannia Creek Ramble, which was an amazing location, albeit we saw it dry, could imagine how good it would have been in winter!

We drove up to collected a few of the latest JezzaB52 and Team Barrits caches around Mundaring and Parkerville including the leap in Mundaring Cache (thanks) before continuing to windowie and inkpen road before grabbing the last few in Darlington to round on a full days caching.

Thanks to the local COs for the fun.

28-Mar-20
Thanks SubaRoo for placing and maintaining this cache. Out and about with Barnzy12 getting a few smily faces.

An old cache here so awarding a FP

27-Jan-19
Found thankyou, will need to come back here in winter!

02-Sep-18
Found it! Just little bit off the location- lucky I looked down!

02-Sep-18
Found it! Slightly off centre, lucky we looked down, as we would have walked straight past.

08-Jul-18
Hard location to get to, but lovely spot, easy find when we arrived. TFTC

08-May-17
Walked up to cache as per directions and can imagine this is very picturesque in winter but the route may be a little trickier. Found the cache without issue and then decided to go out over the top where there were only roo trails. I could hear a few of them crashing through the bush around me as my presence startled them. Thanks for the walk and the cache SubaRoo.

23-Apr-17
Out for the afternoon enjoying this beautiful weather, we found this cache whilst on our travels... Although the creek here was dry, we still had fun rock hopping to GZ! We searched around for quite some time before finding the cache a little higher than what the GPS suggested. The hint does not apply & it is only now that I see there is a spoiler photo provided Big Grin

TFTC Subaroo & Hackberry Hiker [^] Hope to make it back here in winter to see these falls... We imagine they would be spectacular!

18-Mar-17
OMG gave up and walked down the hill when the wife spotted it. Good walk and hunt

24-Sep-16
After stopping at by the stream it was straight off to tackle this more challenging one.
Not too long after it was in my hands. Thanks for bringing me to this fantastic location Smile

19-Jul-16
Great hike, beautiful views Smile the lone wolf found it Smile tftc

03-Jul-16
Harder work than anticipated... Especially lugging a 5-yo. Description wasn't quite accurate, though left as found. Great adventure.

29-May-16
Wow what a hike. Amazing beautiful views of the creek...has to be a quicker and easier way though...

22-May-16
Terrifying terrain for someone with knees like mine. When I was 12 this would have been a breeze. Might return with more surefooted friends someday.

Lovely scenery at this creek I only discovered a couple of months ago. Babbling happily after yesterday's rainstorms. Got as far as the waterfall. Definitely worth the outing. Smile

25-Jan-16
Tftc . finding the path was a bit tricky. Just walked up the hill. Lol

Sometimes cycling to caches is an advantage cause I can cut down lane ways. Other times, especially up this way, it is a hindrance. I was out cycling through Darlington with friends and, while they headed up through Mundaring, I turned back and headed to a few caches. I've run out of caches close to the road so had to venture a little further. No surprise, this terrain is totally unsuitable for both my road bike (although I did ride it a little way along the track) and my cleated shoes are a nightmare to walk in on the flat, let alone on slippery rocks and through the bush. It took a very long time to reach GZ; some of it involved crab walking on my hands and feet along rock cliffs and across the stream. In hiking boots, this would've been ideal!

Eventually, and with only 1 minor knee scratch, I reached the mass of rocks. Climbing rocks in cleats; another disaster which involved stabilising myself largely using my hands to support my weight and resting my lycra clad butt on rocks where possible. Thankfully the cache was a quick find; there's a little bit of the original large plastic container at GZ and the much smaller fruit style plastic screw top left by a previous finder. I signed the log which is in perfect condition, before the painfully slow journey back to my bike (which had long since been left beside the stream) and then to the nice smooth bitumen to take my back to West Perth for brekkie.

Thanks for taking over responsibility for the cache Hackberry Hiker, although it seems to be proving to be a nice maintenance free hide. Photo attached.

21-Oct-15
We scrambled up to this one. But ran out of time to find it as the gps was sending us all over the place. Oh well next time.

25-Sep-15
Great time of year to be up this way with so much water flowing down. Nice peaceful walk up. Short bush bash then about a 2 min hunt to find the cache. TFTC

Found it - left replacement pen Smile

26-Apr-15
Cache in a good condition.
Third find of the day. Easy find.
Unfortunately pencil missing, next please leave one.

Thank you for such a nice cache at a nice spot.
Worth the effort !!!

12-Aug-14
What a work out !!! Unfortunately dropped the pencil couldn't find it . Sorry . Outer plastic cover is falling apart take care. Lovely spot tftc

25-Jul-14
Found it at 10:35 AM, full log to follow. The track was a little muddy at the beginning and the terrain was harder than I was expecting but enjoyed it nonetheless. Beautiful stream and waterfalls running alongside the trail. Thanks For the Cache Hackberry Hiker, favourite point awarded for the great location.

27-Jun-14
Found it! The container had rolled further into it's hiding hole! It took a half hour of pushing with a stick from the top, then trying to pull it closer from the bottom! It was a beautiful morning to be out and about in such a pretty spot! Mister the geodog love the rocks and the stream, and it's a good job my boots are waterproof! Definitely a fav for the location! TFTC.

14-Jun-14
This one was a lot hard to get to than expected, I found it around two attempts to find the best path to the cache....TFTC

08-Jun-14
Paradise falls?! Awesome picturesque cache for our 100th!!! Had to send dad on alone for the final 50m as it was too hard for master 5,6 and miss 2 so we splashed in the water and waited! Definitely memorable!

05-Jun-14
good spot lucky i was part mountain goat to get but tftc.

03-Jun-14
TFTC a beautiful spot

06-Apr-14
After last weekends earthcache event, I realized how many caches were still out this way waiting to be found. So we headed back up this way again this weekend. Not sure that there was an easier way into gz, but we went in one way and came out another. Saw lots of kangaroos, which made up for the creek being bone dry - can imagine it would be very pretty during winter. Thanks Hackberry Hiker

11-Oct-13
Well, we turned this one into a scramble rather than a ramble having come down from Hudman rd but we're always up for a challenge.
Had a quick find once at GZ and took some time out to enjoy the spot by the creek.
TFTC. Dropped TB as well.

Found @ 13:07!

Find #09 on a caching morning with 'SpatialRiq' to help out with a few Earthcaches, before going solo late morning and most of the afternoon. This was solo cache #3 of the day.

Walked through the bush and followed the river upstream until I reached the picturesque waterfalls!

Climbed up to GZ, following a vague trail, which seemed to work OK. Cache was quickly spotted under its protective cover and log was signed.

This seemed like a nice place to stop for lunch, so had a sandwich before continuing upstream for a while...

There was hardly any track to speak of, but I have experienced far worse before! Also encountered a couple of fences marking out private land, which I worked my way around...
Was aiming to find my way to a road that seemed to be marked on the map, but this was not visible! Seems it is now marked by the line of pylons, but I picked up a decent trail a bit further across that seemed to connect to the main road further north.

Thanks for showing me this beautiful and secluded spot!

TNLN TFTC!

Nyaania Creek Ramble was transferred from SubaRoo to user Hackberry Hiker.

Yes, I've just adopted this cache which is in a truly beautiful location. Hopefully I can do it justice after SubaRoo has looked after it for so many years. I visited the cache for the first time today and while it's still in good shape (thanks to Moneybox) I'm planning to replace the current container with a larger one and re-stock very soon.

Hi fellow Geocachers. I have retired from Geocaching and am looking for someone to "adopt" this cache. It has been very popular over the last 12 years and only requires occasional maintenance, which is required now. It would be a shame to close it down. If anyone is interested in taking over ownership of this cache, please post here and I will arrange the transfer.

What a mission!
Great hide. Smile

19-Apr-13
Ooooohhh tricky!!! Thoroughly enjoyed it - on to the next one Wink

10-Aug-12
Had a great hunt with our 3and4 year olds. Pity we didn't use the track and did it the hard way. Smile But the kids had a ball jumping from rock to rock up the creek. Beautiful spot. TFTC

21-Jul-12
Took us a while but it was worth it. Our youngest member had the best eyes.

19-Jul-12
A bit of a climb. Our young girls stayed at the creek but a couple of us went on to find it

08-Jul-12
Took a lot of detours to see the amazing bush and all of it's creeks. Could not believe beautiful it was! TFTC and the senery.

16-Jun-12
This is on our doorstep yet we have never been here before. Waterfalls, paddling pools, carpets of pink flowers, birdsong, this place is idyllic and highly recommended. An easy find, especially if you have a small child to dangle into a crevice. Thanks for a delightful Saturday afternoon clamber Smile

Definitely didn't take the easy way in but found it in the end with lots of scratches. Tftc

13-May-12
The last time we came to look for this cache it was in the height of winter and the stream was rushing along, our attempts were thwarted when we got to a large outcrop of rocks and they were all wet and slippery so we decided to return on a dryer day. Today was such a day, hardly any water in the stream and a much easier rock crossing. Thanks for the cache in a the most beautiful of settings.

28-Jan-12
[:(!] After dropping geofamily at the airport for there flight to Adelaide and having to take the borrowed car back to Northam, I made a slight detour to pick this cache on the way up, arrived at GZ, after about 30 minutes of searching I had the cache in hand at last. TNLNSL TFTC/TFTH

01-Jan-12
Thanks to Moneybox for fixing and replacing the cache. I was unable to get there in a timely manner and you saved me the job - much appreciated. Cheers

01-Jan-12
Thought we should drop in here and help with a little maintenance. We passed a lazy bobtail in the creek on our way to the cache. We replaced the cache container, log and some swaps. Most of the contents were beyond repair so took it all away. The logbook is slimy mouldy but we can post it through when dry is you wish. The cache can now be enabled. Happy New Year. TFTC

09-Nov-11
This cache needs a replacement container. The lid is broken, the side is broken and so it is full of rusty water. The log book will need replacing also as it is wet mouldy and growing mushrooms.

09-Nov-11
Cache needs maintenance. Will disable this until it is repaired.

09-Nov-11
It was a great walk and took some pic's of the water fall. It was easy find but could not sign log book as it was to wet. See my entry on maintenance.

04-Sep-11
Father's Day hunt to find a local cache with the new geo-phone. Geo boys were like mountain goats trying to find the cache. Lovely sunny day with the creek flowing fast. Thanks.

21-Aug-11
I came in from above and found myself needing all my mountain goat skills to complete the find. Guess I should have read the discription before heading out.

Lovely walk along the fast flowing creek. Container is looking a little worse for wear, probably needs to be renewed as the lid is broken. Took nothing, Left nothing. TFTF, very enjoyable.

17-Jul-11
Creek at full flow - great walk up the waterfalls and nice scramble at end - fantastic location. TFTH

Good hike in by torchlight

18-Jul-10
What a great day for this cache, super Winters Day, and after some recent rain the creek looked great all the way along this lovely trail. Then the hard work began..we started uphill a fraction early (Didn't realize this until we found the very easy way back down after finding the cache.)

Spent about 20 minutes searching fruitlessly searching then decided to climb a little higher where the ground was a little more open, this allowed me to pace around a bit and get a better fix on GZ. Descended again a found almost straight away. Enjoyed the view for awhile and made the walk down to the creek along the little track we should have come up in the first place.

Left the Diabetes TB to continue its journey
Thanks for the cache in this lovely spot.

04-Jul-10
great walk. kids loved the views. TFTC

12-Jun-10
I like to do things the hard way as I came in from the top. That's what you do if you select next closest cache and don't read the description. All said it wasn't that bad. The cache eluded me for a short while as the GPS was jumping around . Definitely a nice spot to sit and sign the log enjoying the view. I could not see any water running in the creek at the moment but later in the year should be better.

I picked up 3BlindEyes SPnz geocoin to move along
Thanks for the cache.

17-May-10
Why do I like going to Nyannia Creek 4 times? To finally nail another cache thats been eluding me thats why. Took a printout of the rocks from a photo in the gallery. Didn`t have to go to the top of Everest but finally nabbed this one. Yep you need long arms alright. I left the 3 blind eyes Geocoin. There are pools of water about but another bit of rain will look great doing this neat cache. TN TFTC.

29-Apr-10
I would call this cache 'Nyaania Creek Scramble'!! I'm used to bush bashing but added rock climbing to my skills today. A tricky find especially as my arms are short. A lovely area for picnics and I imagine swimming but at the moment no water in the creek. Will be back in the winter. TNLN TFTF

13-Feb-10
A pity I decided to have a go at this cache when the creek was dry. It must be spectacular when in flow. A really nice location. T: Nomad Travel Gnome GC & Garden Gorilla GC. TFTH.

09-Jan-10
A nice area we found the cache after searching around for about 15 minutes. TNLN. Thanks SubaRoo

25-Nov-09
had a good look for ages, lots of small gums, lots of rocks.

24-Oct-09
What a lovely day for a walk in the bush...and this Nyaania creek ramble was a lot of fun for both myself and the geokids, Cinnabear and OptimusCache. The creek was beautiful as were the amazing wildflowers that were still in bloom. My only regret was that my camera batteries died just as we got to the creek. I did get some flower shots though. I grabbed two geocoins, and dropped one as well as leaving a little surprise for the next finder....

21-Oct-09
Found it after a bit of hiking about! Wonderful cache. Beautiful location. Thanks for sharing this wonderful spot.

26-Jul-09
this was my first search and I found it! So happy. It really is like when you're a kid and you find the treasure in a treasure hunt!

Just by chance found the cover rock as soon as I started searching area of GZ.

Took bike pedal and hippo (starting a travel across the nullabor to SA), also took TB Shark and GC Lighthouse.

Left Fengshui charm (yellow fortune knot, red string key and wood earring), box of matches and small post-it notes.

Beautiful place with the creek at full force. My dogs had a blast swimming and running around.

30-May-09
A nice walk up to the area but once close to the GZ I got the wife to stay with the kids below while my GPS played silly buggas and led me around the hill several times until at least it decided "Oh maybe over here" Phew !

Dropped off CC Geocoin Dec 06 in this cache, I believe it was its final destination for the current mission .
Dropped off Matthias kleiner Hai-TB (shark boy) looking for oceans, none up here but there was some water (not a lot)
TFTC took Alaska angel Pin and left some loot.

09-Nov-08
Wonderful cache site. Took the family - little challenging for 18 month old, but he was fascinated by the waterfall so all was good. Took GC. Left Audi car.

05-Oct-08
This ramble was a bit of a scramble - but well worth it. Quite a large party of muggles enjoying the beautiful day with a picnic by the waterfall, but cache area well tucked away from overlookers. Creek flowing well, flowers flowering, birds singing, sun shining! Lovely day.

Took Wifi thingy, left pliers, Alaskan Angel, Pathtag badge and Rambling SnowWolf GC.
Thanks very much for an excellently placed cache where I had never ventured before, SubaRoo.

27-Sep-08
Went with "Heathy" & my 2 girls - to a place where we'd walked quite a few times not knowing about the "other treasure" not far from the path. Girls thought it was great. Thought we'd leave the broken dolls leg for someone else...

27-Sep-08
First cache I have found went with my friend Phil and his 2 Daughters. We all had a great time. We left some good stuff in the cache. Wi-Fi detector and 2 x $1,000,000.00 notes. I think we took a packet of tissues.

Enjoyed the rock climbing. Creek was completely dry of course. The usually sure-footed Lady AusTracker had a very uncharacteristic fall but fortunately no damage. Cache found easily. Retrieved Monopoly CC Geocoin and dropped off Diabetes TB. Thanks for the hunt SubaRoo.

12-Oct-07
I travel near one section or other of this creek daily, but had never been to this bit - what a magnificent part of Nyaania! Falls flowing, wildflowers everywhere and a challenging enough walk and find. Took bouncy ball and left a 2003 Rugby World cup keyring. T (Very Much)4TH.
