The cache appears to be in need of owner intervention. I'm temporarily disabling it, to give the owner an opportunity to check on the cache, and take whatever action is necessary. Please respond to this situation in a timely manner (i.e., within 30 days) to prevent the cache from being archived for non-responsiveness.
Nearly 3 years and it had a wet mouldy log back then and the owners dont seem to have been into caching for about 5 years. Some of these old ones need to be archived to save people chasing their tales
Continuing with our longest since last found cache adventures I would like to say we found it but it was not due to lack of effort that we didn't. We spent a long time scouring the area and looking in all the places mentioned in previous logs. The area may have changed a bit in the 136 weeks (as of today) since last found and we removed, poked and prodded all the debris without success. We could not find it and we doubted it was still here but a nice adventure on a Sunday afternoon. Next stop Ben Nevis a few km down the road to check the track condition out.
Nemisis be gone!
Found in the company of Orac7000. Contents mouldy and log damp. TNLNSL.
Thanks.

Found in under a minute this time..makes big difference when know where to look.Suggest that hint be changed to reflect where cache now resides. To other cachers..read log by Ideology.Nice drive in through forest..certainly plenty of ferns.Cache is damp..logbook is ok.TNLNSL TFTC Cheers Animal Cachers.
Name certainly a misnomer.Where was the gully..could have sworn I was on ridge line among Cathead Ferns.Current coords are way out..as puts cache 2m or so from edge of road near large stump...original coords may be lot closer??Vague hint..which logs?? so many..with so many hiding spots.Spent around 1hr looking..with 2pairs of eyes for DNF.
Gsak had missing logs which didn't help..only just found out on GC site.APOLOGIES to AC...as I have made this cache a lot harder than need be.Still nice drive in.Will return now that I've read all the logs(no pun intended)..should help heaps.Cheers Animal Cachers.

Sometimes it must all be the whim of the satellite gods on the day - we visited on holiday from Melbourne, a few years back, and were able to locate the cache very quickly.
Thanks to CraigRat for checking this one for us!!
He suggests alternate coords of:

I would seriously doubt that it has gone missing!

This cache should be archived - last find 17/10/2004.
1 DNF on 14/02/2005 and now another DNF another year on....
Can the owner verify that it is still there? It is a LONG drive just to get there, and I'm sure there are other forests with fern glades in them close to civilisation...
After spending over an hour falling over hidden logs looking for the obvious and not so obvious hiding places, short of uprooting all the ferns in the place, I couldn't find it.

DNF. Not very good reception, hint not very helpful, and the princess of puppies kept getting 'stuck' and asking up to rescue her - she got tired of leaping off things only to find the ground was much further than she thought it would be! Oh well. . .
MK from the Kerrison Clan and I set out to seek this cache that I didn't tmanage to find last time..
After about an hour, I went back and got the notes from the car...Everyone was saying it's in the obvious spot.. We were AT the obvious spot... looked around... not there... about to give up when we did the 'one last look' thing we all do...
Back to the obvious spot... BINGO... we had been on top of it all the time!!!... ..
Just needed to look a bit harder and move some debris...
This is one of those caches that makes you wonder about your sanity..
I have 'upgraded' the container from its 200ml to a whopping 400ml, large enough noww to at least stash some more goodies.
Took nothing, left a few cars.
Thanks AC, we had fun, we swore, we debated your parentage.. all good!!!

As Craigrat has said but did end up swearing alot, even after Craig found it. Anyway it ended well including the slide into the gutter (sorry about that CR promise it won't happen again) So if no one outside the car saw it happen does that mean it didn't??
Weather closed in once we arrived, could not get a good fix (2 sats on average).
Looked in general vicinity, but unable to locate cache.
Will return when weather improves!!
Interesting spot though...

A great drive around some back country roads,
Once at GZ we found the cache destroyed and lying on the ground, most contents were U/S.
We replaced the container with a spare of our own
We only had a small 200ml clip top box though.
We replaced the sodden logbook with a new dry one, and placed the cache back in the stump where we believe it came from.
If you want your old logbook, we have dried it out and can mail it back to you - let us know.
We took the damaged cache and contents out for disposal.
Thanks AC

The rain was holding off so we braved the gravel road and came across from Ringarooma. I don't think the hire car was meant for this road but it survived the experience.
Found the cache much easier than expected. I think the container is watertight but there is still some residual dampness inside. If the sun had been shining we could have dried things out while we enjoyed our roadside picnic but it was a bit of a dull day.
If you are planning a visit, the pen & geocaching info sheet are waterdamaged and should be replaced.
TB Flick has patiently waited 5 months and was keen to come with us. Met a local leech while searching but decided to let him stay behind with his mates to meet & greet future geocachers.
Took:Launceston Badge
Left:Snail facecloth

How many cachers get tired of looking ofer the same area half a dosson times only to find the cache in the most obvouse spot. I recon that the 8 leeches that I spotted raceing up my trouser leg were moving it while I was searching. Flick ffered to stay and look after the cache for a while.
I know I said I probably wouldn't be back to this one, but the lure of snagging some exclusive IdeoGear was too great to resist.
Found it straight away this time, it was excactly where I would have placed it - goodness knows where it used to be! The contents were still damp, so whilst I prepared a new container I placed the log book and a few items on my radiator to dry out a bit before packing it up and replacing it in it's new resting place. Took the IdeoGear (of course), and placed a large Super Ball, not a fair exchange, but lifes like that )

[After a brief search, we found this one about 30m from GZ having obviously been dragged by an animal to its present location. It's chewed up and soggy. Sadly we didn't have a repair kit with us, so we repacked it as best we could. The GPS was jumping around in the bush and there were logs everywhere, so we replaced it in] n fghzc nobhg jnvfg urvtug [within 10m of GZ. Being a virgin cache, we added an exclusive item of IdeoGear!][last edit: 2/7/2003 4:04:22 PM PST]

I'm afraid I had to give up on this one. The GPS coverage was poor this afternoon, and with the lack of signal once you enter the forest it was near impossible to get a good reading. I did several 'averaging walks' along the road to get a fix on the cache, which was supposedly about 30 to 40 metres into the bush. I paced the distance out manually and searched the 'logs' in the area but came up with nothing. I even tried using my aboriginal tracking skills to see if I could hone in on the tracks left by the Animal Cachers a few days previously - but seeing as I was born in the UK, my aboriginal tracking skills were a little rusty, although it should be said I can find my way to a fish and chip shop from hundreds of kilometres away )
Nice area Animals, lovely views of Mt. Barrow on the way back, but unless there is a GeoDash point in this area I don't think I'll be back for another look for the cache. Maybe you should up the difficulty a bit, it 's a lot like looking for a needle in a haystack in there!
