Found recently on a morning trek up to the fort ruins for a cito event. Still in play!
I had been told about a couple of archived caches along this beach, so I got the impression that this was somewhat known to the geocaching community. Whilst preparing for our convoy this morning, a few others had mentioned this geocache too, so it was part of today's itinerary. Reviewing the geocache's history, it is fantastic that this 12/2002 placed cache is still here, and even more amazing that it was archived on 26/03/2005, and then it took eight years until 19/11/2013 when [Just a Trifle](https://coord.info/PR19V5T) and [youngoldfella](https://coord.info/PR1TC79) found the cache once again. These sorts of stories are even more interesting sometimes! It was only by luck that I read through enough logs to discover the new coordinates of this archived cache (thanks to [Captain Terror](https://coord.info/PR2A296) and others who continued to promote the coordinates):S 27 01.316' E 153 10.619'We soon arrived at this location, and as we all headed up across the dunes, it was [chamad](https://coord.info/PRPP06G) who made a quick cache find. At first, I thought he was joking given how quickly he shouted out loud, but nope, there that big bucket was! The cache container and logbook were in good shape. Thanks Albyalbatross&Nicole for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.Note that this geocache was logged with the *Team Warren* Davidwazza/[jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) stamp.----------Today, it was a planned trip north to Bribie Island to 4WD the island's eastern beach with [jesswrigley](http://coord.info/PRNW59T) and baby Cottontail. It was an early start to attend Bribie Island's S.S. Koopa Trail parkrun in high wind and spray conditions, and it was then time to drive around to Woorim to meet with the CITO group's attendees and convoy north to the event, allowing sufficient time to stop at a few geocaches en route. The old fort structures were fantastic and a must-see sight, and after walking around the beach, it was time to return, just missing the rain onslaught. Before leaving the island, we visited the island's Seaside Museum, which was a highlight and provided a good opportunity to escape the rain drizzle.
Today i was super excited to attend a nearby CITO and have had this virtual on my want to do list for a number of years. There were 3 cars full that met up and we had a great drive up the beach stopping on the way to pick up a few smileys. This was my Jimny's first drive on the beach with me and so i was lucky to have chamad to help guide me through safely driving along this beautiful beach. It was very busy today and for most people were driving with respect. Once at GZ we all hoped out of our cars and it was great to find this Archived cache . We did gather up some rubbish but were happy to see the place mostly littler free. We made it back to the cars just before the rain poured down and it was a fun drive back .I had such a great time thanks for all the fun
I was fortunate to be able to join a convoy heading up the beach to a CITO event at the fort. It was my first time exploring this part of the island and I was surprised by the number of people and cars using the beach. A few months ago I was made aware of an archived cache that was still available to be found at Mount Tamborine and it piqued my interest in other archived caches. I had marked this one as a possible find one day so when the opportunity to pass by came along, I was determined to make a stop here. As it turned out, others also had the same plan, so we made a group stopover on our drive north to search. Always great to find such an old cache. Thanks Albyalbatross&Nicole
So the day started with a drive up to Bribie Island to a suggested meeting point at woomrim. It was then a shuffle around while tyres were deflated and people organised into cars. Then it was our turn to join the convoy of cars heading up the beach this morning. I got to play co driver in a little jimmy for the day. We did the first listed cache on the beach and the only cache I thought I was getting today, along with the cito. All good we then drove 600 mtrs to find an old archived cache which is still in working condition and frequently visited, ???. A few more stops and few more caches, until we reached the road ends here. We parked up and as we had to walk to the official cito location, we thought we would start our cito from here. Today I got in two unexpected caches, plus, the one I hadnt done and the cito event. With the logs signed and the official pics taken it was then the drive back to our car park meeting point to disembark all. We were very lucky as that's when the rains came. Thanks for a fun morning, always nice to get out with like minded people.
So this is the first archived cache I've ever logged and I have to say I'm glad to have had the opportunity to claim a find this old. Thanks for find #5308TNLN
Needing to get out of the house (and my own head), I looked around the map and noticed a CITO on Bribie. Hmmmm....not sure about my ability to drive on sand on my own nor if my geomobile would do it, I put out a late call for a spare seat in another vehicle. I had two generous offers (Thank you to both geochaers).Yhis morning, I met up with the others at the agreed spot. Before long, we were headed out onto the beach for the drive north. Along the way, we stopped off to find a few caches. This one was quickly located and the log signed as BCUC (Bribie Clean Up Crew). Everything was returned as found and we continued on our way. TFTC.
Well that was an exciting day out. I wanted to go but then with storms hanging around being stranded on an Island wasn't on my wish list. Yesterday arrived and the weather was looking good so another early morning start and off to Bribie Island to meet up with the crew who were attending. Tyres were deflated and we set out in 3 vehicles to have fun. I didn't have any of the caches along the way but we stopped off and got them all plus a couple of archived ones. Arrived at the Fort Bribie Virtual cache and got what info that was needed then we picked up a small amount of rubbish, that good that the Island isn't full of litter. A couple of people passing by took a few group photos before we headed back to the cars as the sky was becoming quite black. Que Sera did a great job of driving her little Jimmy to and from the Event, well done. The last part of our returnWell that was an exciting day out. On the way back down the beach from the forts up the end, we stopped here before heading to the lagoon nearby. No problems locating the big bucket. The plastic is getting a little UV affected but still in good nick.Find #12862 @ 15:32ThanksAlbyalbatross&Wendy for giving us a reason to visit..........@__./|____Y_/__________|\\\_______/_TGQNRV_/-^~-~~-~-^~~--~-~~^~
Davinells, Karicka, Peppa, and I were heading up the beach and I didn't want to miss this again. We quickly spotted the well stocked cache on approach. Thanks for the fun Albyalbatross&Nicole
Surprised to find a large cache in good condition here. The rain did stop, and I joined the drive up the beach. This was my only find on Bribie today.Thank you for this cacheR
The planets aligned and Davinells, Beardman75, Karicka and I were able to finally spend the day around Bribie After paddling around Godwin Beach, and Pumicestone Passage the next goal was a drive along the beach and even though Beardman75 and Karicka had both been along here before they were gracious enough to bring us back that and the promise of an archived cacheI havent been driving on this beach for 30 yearsToday was a great day, with amazing company and I got to explain theres no place like home everytime I got back in the car ??Its hard to miss this well stocked container as apparent by the number of muggle visitors it getsthe 2014 fishing magazine is a nice touch ??Thanks Albyalbatross&Nicole ??
An awesome day of caching with Peppa, Beardman75 and karicka on Bribie Island. Having paddled for the morning, we switched gears and loaded into the Pajero and headed off for a drive along the beach. This archived cache was a big target, it was the only cache we all had unfound. This nice big container was quickly spotted and we enjoyed looking through the stash in the container.Tftc Albyalbatross&Nicole
This was the first we found for today. Took the new Geo 4WD (Track the new Prado’s adventures by D78QWZ and don’t forget to mention the trackable personalised number plates) for a day trip today then made the walk up to GZ.
We quickly made the find. While DFC and MummaBear66 were adding some ink into the log. JLK started writing the draft for this log.

A quick beach run with Muggle65 today. Cache found in good order. Such a shame this has been archived
We were told recently that this bad boy is still in play so after reading some previous logs we found the hide & signed the log??????awesome finding an oldy.
Wahoo this one is still available and easy to find. Many thanks to Prime and Fang for getting sand on the underbelly of their respective 4WDs, and getting me to this cache today. What a stunning day.
I was out caching today with my friends Burdons5, their little ones and their Dad. I enjoyed a lesson in 4 wheel driving along the beach and made my way across the sand to park up near the sentinel. A short walk later and after a bit of a hunt, my caching buddy spotted this oldie near where we were standing. We were careful with the old container as we added our names to the log. Tftc Albyalbatross&Wendy
Our second stop on Bribie for today on our way to celebrate P'Prime's achievements, and after thoroughly exploring the nearest Sentinel, while trying not to inhale too much and feeling a bit down about the way this piece of history has been treated by some individuals, we trooped across to GZ to find the container. No trouble at all, happy to say. TFTC, Albyalbatross&Wendy. =^.^=
Yeah, we got a little convoy,
Ain't she a beautiful sight?
Come on and join our convoy
Ain't nothin' gonna get in our way.
Today nothing was going to get in our way of finding these 4wd caches on Bribie Island and we definitely had a convoy. 4WD #1, Fangsoki, Captain Terror, Kaibrya, Fangsoki, Zacgyver and 1MinnieMoo. 4WD #2 carrying Grundies, Net88 and Slow Puncture ( why didn't we name ourselves the slowmobile as we were the only ones to get bogged from a simple mistake anyone could make) 4WD #3 P'Prime, Crew 153 and Aussie Liahona and bringing up the rear was 4WD #4 Just a Trifle and La Kedi
This is one of the oldest geocaches I've found in Australia. I am so glad I got the opportunity today. Our trip today was the best fun I have had and it will be very hard to forget. Thanks for the cache Albyalbatross and Wendy

I am struggling to believe it was 2013 when I first started looking at this geocache. There was a small group of us voraciously consuming data for potentially available archived geocaches. This one came up as a little bit of a strange case. It had been necessarily moved, but there was no good reason it wouldn't still be legitimately in place given the logs and leachs updated co-ordinates. And it seems like it got moved from one bunker-thing to another bunker-thing. We were keen and it got added to the mental list.
But Bribie Island got a little forgotten during a trip to Fraser Island where we collected the longest unfound Queensland geocache at the time. It was as we were recovering from that trip that Just a trifle sniffed out and found this one. I won't lie, my first words were unpleasant and four letters long. Once the jealousy faded, I was mostly impressed they too had sorted it out. And really, it confirmed it was still in place to be found. It got left on the mental list.
This is one of four geocaches up the front of Bribie (two are archived as it turns out) that I have made many a half-hearted plan to find. I could throw my bike in the back of the car and pedal to them all. Might be a bit too adventurous for my skill. I could borrow a mate's 4WD, but I just never organised it. And eventually a while ago, Prime mentioned a plan to grab them as a group. Honestly, that sounds far more enjoyable. I'll wait to attack this list 'someday'.
Eventually that plan came to fruition under a Pprime plan and the group was a bunch bigger than I'd ever envisioned. I picked up Kaibrya on my way through the city and we met up with the group at the carpark. Getting into 4WD #1, Fangsoki's Canyonero was myself, Kaibrya, Fangsoki, Zacgyver and 1MinnieMoo. Behind was three more 4WDs carrying Pprime, grundies, Net88, La Kedi, Aussie Liahona, Crew 153, Slow Puncture and Just a Trifle. It was more a convoy, to be fair. At some point around 09:00 we launched down the track and onto the beach at high tide.
After a minor confusion, this was the second stop for the day. Just a Trifle had instructed where we should stop to approach this GZ. Annoyingly there were a lot of vehicles on the beach today and there were a few sort've vaguely around this location. However, a group of four vehicles demands a bit of space and I doubt anybody took notice of us. First up, went to check out the pill box.. or bunker.. whatever the structure is. I always wonder a little bit about the story such walls would tell. Instead, a few photos were taken and comments made. It's always lovely to visit.
Onto the geocache and a few of us lead the charge across the dunes for those in the group yet to have made this find. Right on the edge of the prickly flora was the bucket, still waiting proudly. 2005 to 2013 was a long wait to be found. But 2017 since the last finders is adequately unloved too and I am very happy to have finally got the chance to add my name to this logbook. And despite my love of really old geocaches, I still have more of yours to find, Alby. Thanks to Just a Trifle for bringing this one back to attention, thanks to those who moved it at the event in 2005 and thanks to Albyalbatross for creating this adventure to begin with

14/9/19 10:33 am Find #2713
The second cache on our expedition today. And an archive at that.
The group (PPrime and Mrs Prime, Fangsoki, Crew153, Zacgyver, Captain Terror, Kbreeagh, Slow Puncture, Just A Trifle, Aussie Liahona, La Kedi, Net88, Grundies and myself) pulled up the geo4WDs and went for a wander around the structure, before making our way over for this find. By the time the last of us got to GZ the log book was already out and being passed around and names added in.
Fangsoki played with a giant stick while the rest of us went about signing the cache, before we were on our way again.
Thanks for the cache Albyalbatross&Wendy.

Out with a very fun bunch of cachers 4WDing on Bribie to celebrate PPrime's 100th of Queensland's oldest 100 active caches and 7000th cache find. A nice large cache find here, even if it is quite far from the posted coordinates. Very happy to find an old one here. TFTC
Stop no 2 for our days adventure. Thanks to PPrime and Fangsoki for being guardians of the archive allowing us to log this find. A fabulous da to be out and about on the sand. TFTC

Saturday. Woohoo! Got this one today. Out with a great group of cachers in 4x4 vehicles. Co-ords were a bit out I commented… Talk about cache creep. Only 4.05km out. What do I care – we got this cache today and although archived, I’m glad to add our names to the log for this one as it is a really old cache planted in December 2002.
This was the 1st of 2 caches found on today's trip.
Thanks ***Albyalbatross&Nicole***, for showing us this place.

My last cache for today's 4WD adventure. I am with Mrs Prime, @Crew153, @Aussie Liahona, @Net88, @Kbreeagh, @Captain Terror, @Zachgyver, @1MinnieMoo, @Fangsoki, @Grundies, @Slow Puncture, @La Kedi and @Just a Trifle today. And what a great spot. A relic of our past, bold as brass sitting there on the now exposed sand - but hidden from the average city slicker not able to get here to see this for themselves. We also visited Fort Bribie way north of here, and the bunker back near the entrance carpark. Bribie is a WW2 relic enthusiasts dream.
No issues with this cache - we had the right coords and it is kinda obvious at this spot.
Thanks Albyalbatross&Wendy for entertaining me at this location.

Out for a sand driving practice training session with Justatrifle in preparation for our trip to Alice Springs. Justatrifle guided us to the spot where this cache still sits. Thanks for the cache.
#4306 [13:00] this was very special for me - cache present and found after more than year, and completly at different location but it is obvious it's the right one, box is old and all logs inside thanks a lot for showing me.
4x4ing at Bribie today with one of the team and HOE77. Walked right past it the first time then turned around "It's over here!". I noticed the magazine (from October 2014) in the cache has the same species on the cover as the current issue. Glad to have found this old cache. TFTC
Out and about today for a trip up the beach with a crew from the Sunshine Coast. After getting a couple of active caches up the beach dahumbug brought this little archived cache to our attention.
Dahumbug informed us with the new coordinates, so after we all loaded in the new GZ the search was on. It wasn't long and we have found what we needed. It's always good to still find an archived cache that is still out there.

This one has been on my to do list since Just a Trifle and youngoldfella revived it nearly a couple of years ago. I got close a little while ago when I rode a mountain bike up the centre of the island to the plantman but I was too exhausted take the 2km detour that day and decided to leave it for another day. Always a fan of an archived find and I knew this one wouldn't disappoint. Since a last minute plan was hatched to go up the beach I stated to everyone that this is a must do. Its only as I am logging it that I realise that this cache dates back to December 2002!

Out and about today on a little 4x4 action with Dahumbug, CoolumRoo & Kiki97. The bug had this one on his hit list. So after collecting a couple of other caches further up the beach, we made tracks for this one.
After a short search the Bug came up with the bucket of fun. The contents were all nice and dry and in good condition.
Once we all signed the log book we replace the cache as found already for the next lucky "Archive Hunter"

After grabbing a few other caches along the beach with Parko's we decided to check this old one out. We grabbed another nearby cache first and then with the right co-ords entered into the GPS I had to return back along the beach. It was such a nice day and the tide was perfect so once again we enjoyed the drive.
We were soon parked near the old sentinal and a short walk and search and Mrs Parko came up with the cache.
Once the log was signed all was returned as found.

We had arranged to meet up with Konie today for a tour along Bribie Island
It as a nice surprise when Konie alerted us to this one
We returned up the beach after a spot of lunch and wasn't long when were nearing GZ.
Cache was found after a short search and in pretty good nick, considering how old this one is.
Thanks Albyalbatross&Nicole. A beautiful spot indeed

This one was next up on the list for today, and as we made our way down the beach, we spotted the Sentinal, and pulled up the cars, and after a quick walk in, we spotted the cache We added our names to the logbook, and headed off for a few more for the day [^]

Out and about with Fangsoki, Gaz'n'Kab, Sweet_bee, Crew 153 in search of beaches, creatures and other interesting features.
This one was loaded into my GPSr and the co-ords were updated. We were coming back down the beach and the nearby "Sentinal" was easy to spot. After checking out the structure I went in search of the cache with the others and it was soon located.
Thanks for the cache Albyalbatross&Nicole. A great spot with some great views.
Cheers!!

My "history" with this cache started just over a year ago.
I had shown the others this likely cache I had spotted in my hunts. I did not have a permit to go onto the beach at the time - and a weekend we all mutually had spare was lacking. Our group was also concentrating on getting to Fraser Island in November last year - for another long lost.
With a very successful Fraser Island trip under our belts - guess who completely forgot about this one? Forgotten.... until Just A Trifle logged a find and an email came flying through - as it was on my watch list
I must admit I was quite jealous of their most excellent find Just A Trifle were the faster and better archived finders in this case... and I tip my hat to them. I find it quite rude when people don't acknowledge another's work when finding archived caches.
Well a year rolls on and I happen to be on Bribie Island with a permit while camping with friends. Time to rectify the situation. I parked up the mighty Pajero and trotted across the sand in my bare feet (big mistake). I went to the nearby WW2 structure. And there's glass everywhere.. and the sand is now FREAKING INCREDIBLY HOT!
I tiptoed fast-like back down to the beach to the cooler sand and re-adjusted my approach. Hmm. Not a very nice looking area at the moment... but what do I spot in the corner of my eye... a very handsomely-sized cache container. I signed the log and re-hid the cache as found. It certainly looks like it has been found quite a few times by muggles over the years.
I used leachs' co-ordinates to find this one - but I have a feeling Fast Ed's co-ordinates will be better (Thanks for taking the time to share them, Ed.) So I am posting them as alternate co-ordinates.
Very happy to have this one crossed off. I only usually hunt for archived caches that have not been found in a long while - but given the age of this girl, I thought it would be rude to drive past it.
A bit sad about that D1/T1 - though admittedly the cache has moved. TFTC Albyalbatross&Nicole and thank you to Just A Trifle for breathing new life into the cache

#409 - Living on Bribie, but not owning a 4WD I didn't think I would ever make it to these northern caches, but thanks to the JaTs, who offered me a ride together with IolantheK and T-Tech, I got to see the full length of the beach and then some... Well, we did have to walk to the caches themselves, didn't we? What a great morning we had. Any excuse for a ride would have been fine, but creating some smileys while we're at it makes it just that much better!
Still being a relative newbie, and not knowing that sometimes an archived cache can still be logged, this was a surprise cache for me. That's the great advantage when you cache with 'seasoned' cachers.
IolantheK found this one and after we'd all signed the log we went to investigate the nearby bunker, which was, after all this time, lying on its side, but still recognisable as the original bunker, although nothing at all like the one in the photograph from 2003! Amazing.
Thanks for the ride Just a Trifle and TFTC Albyalbatross&Nicole.

Today T-Tech, Dutchie1950 and I have secured seats in Just a Trifle's 4wd, as they have to make a maintenance run out to their cache on Bribie Island's east coast
We met up at the car park near the beach entrance, loaded into the JaT's car, and attempted to gain access to the sand. However, we got to watch a few cars get out of being bogged before making our way down onto the harder sand and beginning our journey northwards. Stop number 2 and a good thing we had Mr JaT with us, as none of us realised this one was still findable [^] He pointed us in the right direction, and I made the find. All is in excellent condition here. TFTC, Albyalbatross&Nicole.

Out with 'Just a Trifle' for a trip in their 4WD accompanied by Dutchie1950 and IolantheK for a trip up the Bribie Island beach to collect some hard to get to caches
This was the second off the rank!
Under the guidance of 'Just a Trifle' we made short work in locating said cache [^]
It's a good thing we weren't looking for it at the published co-ords
The cache is dry and in good condition [^]

Up on the beach with JaT and this was next on our list. We had searched the original area prior to meeting up with JaT when we spotted the alternative co-ords in the logs.
Arriving at new GZ we set about our search. Barb came up with the goodies. We took a mark and the co-ords for us were:
S 27° 01.316 E 153° 10.619
Signed log which is in good condition. Took a bit of time checking out the structure.

Well this was a long walk all the way from the last carpark at Woorim. I started walking at 9.30am and arrived back at the geomobile at 11.00am. The tide was going out when I headed out and was out on the way back.
As I am wandering down the beach, I looked to my left and spotted an individual in the raw. How come guys love to get their kit off and parade about just hoping someone might take notice of them.
Did I tell you it was a long way.
Arrived at GZ and soon spotted what I came all the way for.
Yep, dedication to my hobby.
On the way back, 2 nudists, 3 dolphins playing in the waves with fin swatting and putting their heads up, 1 sea eagle and a hawk, 3 jet boat riders, 2 surf fisherman, 2 ladies and their dogs sunbaking and swimming, a group of swimmers, 3 4WD going up the beach and a few beachcombers and a beach walker.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks alyalbatross&Wendy A little frayed around the edges but all good with this cache

As previously noted, this long lasting Sentinel is still in place and in good condition. I found this one at about 7:17am this morning. The plastic is starting to expire a little about the rim, but apart from that it's sound.
Having had a big-food Christmas I decided a nice long walk was in order so I set off early from Woorim. It is forecast to be a 40+ day today and it was already 28 when I set off. There was a stiff breeze to walk into, which was a mixed blessing from a coolth vrs ease of walking sense.
I have walked up this way to the lagoons loads of times but have never been past them to the bunker. So this was a nice chance to go that little further and see that. I got to the bunker and going by the description found the cache without actually needing the GPS . Signed up and then explored the ruins.
Quick drink of water and another nice walk back (with the breeze at my back ).
Thanks for the cache Alby & Wendy!

We had become aware of this cache a few months ago courtesy of Crew 153 who maintains bookmark lists of archived caches which potentially may still be in place. As we were taking youngoldfella out for a drive along Bribie Island beach to find some caches usually inaccessible to him, we decided to stop at the location where leachs indicated they had moved the cache way back in 2005. Well these coordinates were good and the cache was found in surprisingly good condition given how easy to find it was and with it being in an exposed position. While Mr Just a Trifle was standing at the edge of the thicket looking for a way in to where the GPS was indicating ground zero to be, youngoldfella had walked ahead a little further past the thicket, bends down and says "is this what we are looking for?" before picking up a 10l plastic bucket which was in really good condition considering its age and exposure to the elements. A nice little surprise during the morning of caching. Thank you for having placed the cache albyalbatross&Wendy
Mr Just a Trifle was taking us along the beach in his 4WD to find the two caches this far up the beach I would not have been able to find without assistance. Thanks JAT for the lift. Loved the beach and the drive. Mr JAT has said everything else that needs to be said. TFTC albyalbatross&Wendy
This is the second time she has fallen victim to Muggles. he cache willbe collected in the near future. The site is still worth a visit and the the bunker is still there. Do na little GOOGLEING to learn more..(bribie island + moreton bay submarien watch)
This cache had been trashed and its contents were scatered all over the area. We collected as much as we could and decided to relocate this as the area looked like it was a place some locals hang out in and there were a lot of people around so we re located this further down the beach. Best if you have a 4wd, otherwise it would be a few Km walk. The log book, pencil and small toys were still there, so it still has some goodies in there. I will email the owner and suggest relocating this as we did not have a lot of time, but its still in a safer place for now.

Wonderful beach, unfortunately the coordinates led us to look around a site that has obviously been used for drug use which greatly increases the risk of syringes, as well as lots of other garbage scattered around everywhere so we didn't spend much time looking.
Unfortunately I did not read the other logs indicating that the cache coords are off. *sigh*
Your description probably should include what the container looks like and how it is hidden.

This was a joint effort by a few keen cachers after the summer picnic. Jason joined the boys in this search while the girls stayed behind on the beach with the kids. And whilst it took quite a while to locate, it was still there... Thank you guys for a great afternoon in the sun.
At the Summer Picnic 2005 there was discussion as to whether this cache could be located so it was decided that The Garner Family, Lt Sniper with Garlino and Team DiveDive Dive consisting of Crew 153 and Deco left to check out GZ.
The women and kids stayed on the beach and the 5 men ventured into the wilderness. The area of GZ was searched thoroughly and the search area widened. The heat was stifling and after 15 mins I spotted the cache.
On opening it we found that the log book was only about a dozen separate pages. Only a few with logs on them . One appeared that it may have been from a muggle.
I had a spare log book and ziplock bag so we put the log pages and new log into that before we replaced the cache. It was well stocked but nothing was taken and nothing left.
We checked the three GPSr and agreed that the coords were a little inaccurate.

Found this cache after the Summer Picnic 2005 .
Along with Garlino, Team DiveDiveDive(Deco and Crew 153) and The Garner Family we attempted this one in the hot afternoon sun. Someone had been busy in the area and after a bit of searching around Crew 153 found the cache in its muggled state. All was not lost because a new log book was at hand and after a quick note we where on our way again
Thanks for the joint cache find effort guys,
Lt. Sniper

Well after discussing this one at the Summer Picnic 2005 a few of us decided to head off and find it (i.e. we managed to con some people into coming and helping us find it). Thanks to Crew 153 for spotting it first.
The log book was all torn apart - we couldn't work out whether this was done by a non-cacher or whether it just happened by accident. Nonetheless everyone dived for their bags to find a replacement and Crew 153 came through with the goods again.
According to the 3 GPS's turned on, the cache was about 20m away from the logged co-ordinates. Lt Sniper recorded the right co-ordinates and said he will post it with his log.
Again it was very hot in this area today so we're glad to be able to cross it off after this second visit. Thanks for the cache & the history.

Turned up at this site at about 9.00am. Not too many people around except for the fishermen.
The 'sentinel' is quite an interesting piece of history.
Alas, despite about 40 minutes of searching we couldn't find anything. It was *really* hot in this area and we were quite disappointed to have to walk away with a DNF. Oh well, maybe someone at the upcoming Summer Picnic can give us a hint...

Found this one after a short search. Unfortunately the site seems to be used by drugged up muggles, and the site has been found and interfered with.
After missing out at treasures, trees and tide we were so glad to find this one. It was very windy and the kids didn't like getting stung by the sand so we made it a quick stop. TNLN.
Wendy checked in on this one today and it is still there all nice and healthy. It seems these southerners arnt much good when up against QLD!
Unfortunately didn't find this one. Could be because I am still coming to grips with the new GPS. We might try again on a better day as it was very windy and cool.
Found the sentinals (or sentinels as the case may be), but no cache.
Scratched around in the dunes for ages, but unless the cache is a plastic bottle with a piece of rubber hose in it, then I had no luck at all. If it is, then I found dozens!
I suggest a review of terrain (not wheelchair accessible, so maybe 1.5), difficulty (could be well concealed/buried or coords are off) and kid friendly (broken bottles and bongs at GZ) ratings, assuming the cache is still there at all.
Still a great place to visit, I ended up staying the night nearby.

Those sentinels look amazing!
We scratched around in the dunes for about an hour and found nothing. It must be cleverly hidden, but it's only listed as 1-star difficulty so I must be a bit thick.
Nearby it looked as though some hoons had used the area for a booze-up and toilet.
Removed some broken glass, but be careful, there still could be some broken glass lying around in the sand in the vicinity.

Wendy and I went to check on the Silent Sentinal today and it was right where we left it!!! We collected the container left by Swaggers to be used in the upcoming Geopic.
searched a couple of times for this one. The area gave me the feeling that it must have dissapeared (only a one star after all). As we were staying on Bribie just prior to christmas I thought it only fitting to replace it. The new cache has a christmas theme and is hidden in the sand beneath a small Banksia as you walk up from the beach. It has a small piece of concrete as a lid to hide it. If i got it wrong and the cache is still there then this is a companion cache from a sydneysider Thanks A&W.

Nice easy walk after a freezing swim. The kids swapped a sewing kit for a pair of toy binos. Looks like there has been a wild party in the vicinity recently

[:o)] Found at 1.40pm on a gorgeous Queensland winter's day.
Enjoyed the short walk after Plantman #21 and found this one easily. A great cache with lots of goodies, although we didn't swap anything today. Masher the Smasher visited but only stayed briefly, as did we with another cache to do this afternoon. Stash is in excellent condition and was re-hidden well.

Found it with the old coordinates. I did decrypt the hint after searching for a bit. I learnt that lesson at Above the Trees. Still need to learn the recheck the website lesson!
I thought the sentinel near where I parked was a toilet, as I really needed to go. Went in the bush near the other sentinel instead.
The cache contents were dry, but the log book was soaked. The pen still managed to write it in. Didn't have time to dry it out at all, as it was 5pm. Left the book out of the bag, but on top of some of the trade items. I figure it will have a better chance of drying here. The log book is an interesting read (I had to carefully turn the pages to avoid tearing them). This cache has been found by more muggles than geocachers!
Took a Queensland transport patch. Left a Sydney 2000 Olympic pin.

The cache is now open!!!!!! It is in a slightly moved position so if it appears to be open let me know!!
We are going to replace this cache with a new container and log book in a day or so..
Found at 12:35PM on the 10th of June by Terry with Ray and Maya (The Nomads). We were lucky and had another quick find, Terry is in fine form today. Unfortunately the cache was in a very poor state with lots of water inside, although it was properly closed when we found it. The logbook was saturated. We left a report but it is very hard to read. We performed some cache maintenance but it will require better than we could offer. We took a sand castle mold and left a hair clip. Our thanks for placing the cache.
Found it, but unfortunatly it had been vandalised, and was full of rain water and empty bundy bottles.
I have dried as much as possible and replaced, but the logbook is soaked.
Maybe the owner should retrieve and overhaul ??

, unfortunately after a long search (and by the photos previously posted we were in the right spot) we were unable to locate this cache, mind you it's only my 2nd attempt at finding one so could be that practice makes perfect if someone else finds this in the meantime I'll probably head out and try again.
Great spot though and the kids loved it.

Found at 10:30 this morning. Took stickers and sandcastle moulds, left a hard drive cable. Interesting historical spot. Travelled on to Brumby view. Thanks for a good cache, Andrew and Maryan.
Too easy ( not really) a couple of minutes looking was all it took. The cache is in good condition. A little care is required as non caches can see what is available. Good spot so take some swimmers through the day. Took a drink holder Jess was happy so as to hold her drink in the car. Left a friend and acquaintance. Thanks for giving us some fun.

Was at the coast visiting my mother in law,so what would you do (bugger off for the afternoon chasing a few caches of course).A nice beach, but never knew that this was there. As I drove closer following the gps I was looking for a light house or some thing, but when I was nearing the spot I thought to myself (I thought self) what a run down looking toilet block until I read the sign. Thanks Alby & Wendy.

Found this cache with no problems at all. Was exactly as described and infact was exposed for all to see. Upon opening the cache we found that someone had discovered the cache by accident and had left a little bottle of wishing dust. We had Masher the Smasher travel bug with us from Treasure and Tides and he visited home briefly. Not sure how the Dohertys could have missed this one, better sack the navigator and check those coords.
We took Zippo travel bug out of the cache. He is just a chain attached to the travel bug tags. We weren't sure if someone had liberated the bug from the chain or this is the way it was ment to be. We attached a bottle of wishing dust to Zippo's chain and he has been traveling around Jade's neck all weekend.
We removed the chocolate coins for the cache, not a good idea to leave food in caches. Chocolate tends to melt in the sun. Also, people generally don't eat food they find for saftey reasons. We left some toy animals.
Thanks for the cache, didn't know this place existed. Great to see some Queensland history.

The sentinel was watching but evidently wasn't too concerned with who was accessing the cache. If this was easy to find then we are suffering severe cache-blindness - even with seven sets of eyes today we could not locate it. Dare we suggest it has been lost, stolen or trashed?
But the hunt was not wasted, as we found a ladies handbag complete with wallet and we dispatched this to the local police.
We hope that someone else can find this one. It would be a shame if it has been hijacked as it's a great area.
Cheers from the Dohertys and Happy New Year!

Found it without too much trouble, just didn't look in quite the right spot at first then when we followed where the GPS was ACTUALLY pointing, there is was. Very surprised the Dohertys didn't find it as we met them at the North Pole and then saw their vehical in the carpark BUT no log. The cache is intact and we swapped some stamp pens for a packet of batteries.

First find for the day. Took a couple of little friends with us. Nice and easy find although lots of people around made it hard. May need to move cache to more secure area. Masher the Smasher visited with us. Took chocolate coins and Thomas Cooper and left stickers and a blank CDR. Thanks for a great cache.
